Chapter 13 fighting for pups
Anaya’s P.O.V. (Continued)
"What's the real situation? Give me a brief quickly, Jena.” I asked the blonde sternly while signaling him to stand up.
Both stood up immediately, still scared.
“Alpha Alfred asked everyone to go to the safe room now.” Jena told me in panic after she got a mind-link at the same time.
“What’s the situation?” I asked her angrily this time.
“Alpha Lucifer gave an ultimatum to Alpha Alfred, which ended this morning. He is now attacking the pack.” She replied to me, stammering in fear.
“Beta Jacob and his team are gravely injured, but Alpha Lucifer’s warriors aren’t letting our warriors take them to the hospital. They will surely die today.” The black hair spoke this time, crying fearfully.
I growled and ran towards the wall when I heard so many panicked screams.
If Lucifer wants to kill someone, he should have gone after my father and his team.
Why target innocent pups and defenseless people?
Being powerful doesn’t give you the right to act recklessly.
I took a high leap in the air and landed on the other side of the wall without any hitch.
I didn’t stop, though.
I ran in the direction of the scream. I heard angry and malicious snarls.
The pain and fear in those screams and howls were so raw and intense that I felt my blood boiling.
I am not part of this place, but my mother invested her blood and hard work to make this pack flourish.
He dares to hurt innocents.
I was a team of warriors running somewhere.
“Everyone.” I roared in a commanding tone while running.
“Follow me.” I commanded them, using my alpha authority.
I heard footsteps behind me.
“What weapons do we have now?” I asked them sternly, without showing any exhaustion in my breath.
“We have guns with wolfsbane bullets, but our supply is limited.” One of them told me they were now right behind me, but I was still faster than them.
“Give me two guns and stay behind me. Let me handle them, and try to get all the injured people away. Keep yourself shielded.” I instructed them while raising my hand to get the guns.
“This is not a random fight, Anaya. He brought more than two hundred warriors.” Someone, I didn’t remember who, spoke to me in a serious tone.
“I am doing it for pups. They don’t deserve to die because of the mistakes of their elders.” I replied to him sternly and narrowed my eyes when I saw ten warriors from the other pack still surrounding pups and she-wolves.
She-wolves were gravely injured, but they were still fighting. All the pups were now huddled together, forming a human bundle on the ground. Their fear had thickened the air.
A warrior raised his paw high to strike the already gravely injured she-wolf when I raised my gun in his direction and shot his side ribs without any hesitation.
“Take care of the pups.” I commanded all of them in a roar and leaped high in the air.
The wolf fell to the other side like a broken wood log.
I shot three bullets from each bullet while flying in the air, all aimed at their chests.
I didn’t intend to kill anyone. So, I gave them a chance to live by injuring them severely.
But if they try to get up and attack again, I will not hesitate to put a bullet in their heads.
All of them howled aloud in pain before falling to the ground.
I landed on my feet right in front of the huddled pups and started shooting continuously.
My aims were precise, and my eyes were focused on the coming warriors of the other packs.
“Anaya.” I heard someone yelling my name.
I threw my now emptied guns and caught another two thrown at me.
A few seconds' delay gave two warriors time to act, and they started running in my direction while shifting into their wolves.
They snarled aloud, lunging at me together but keeping a good distance between their bodies.
I smirked coldly and leaped high in their direction, aiming my kick towards one and my gun at the other.
I watched the change in the expression of the one at gunpoint.
His eyes widened in shock before he howled in pain after I shot him.
I kicked the snout of the other wolf, sending him away in the air.
He also howled in pain before their bodies crashed on the ground.
I landed among their fallen bodies this time.
“What to do with them?” someone asked me in a grim tone.
“Leave them here and ask three of our people to take all the pups to the safe rooms here. Take the injured to the hospital. We need to move now.” I instructed them while looking at two injured warriors writhing in pain, their bodies convulsing hard because of the wolfsbane in the bullets.
“Shift one of you and take me to the place where Alpha Lucifer is.” I commanded my people once again and looked at the warrior standing beside me.
He nodded immediately and shifted into his wolf’s form.
Another one gave me two more guns before I hopped on the wolf.
I thought that going away would save me from facing that face again, but it seems that fate still had some plans for me.
I tucked the guns at my back under the belt, as I was now wearing jeans with a loose half-sleeved top.
Winnie brought the clothes to me this morning, as my clothes were dirty.
The wolf immediately started running when I grabbed his fur at the back of his neck.
I heard screams coming from every direction by now.
I felt as if someone had squeezed my heart, but I can’t save all of them, and I can’t fight alone. I didn't have time to form a strategy.
And direct confrontation in this situation means going in the mouth of your death on your own.
My face was now completely stoned.
So, instead of injuring the warriors, it's better to go head-to-head with their leader.
I don't know if I would be able to raise my hand against that face, but I can't let him kill innocent people.
“Alpha Lucifer is at the city square with Beta Jacob and his team as captives. Alpha Alfred and Luna Winnie have already reached there.” A warrior told me worriedly. They all were running around us too, but in their human forms.
I pulled the hair of the wolf I was riding, urging him to increase his pace. He snarled aloud and ran faster.
"Where is Riley?" I asked them when I remembered about her.
"She is hiding in a safe room inside the pack house. But this is our assumption, as no one saw her this morning." The same warrior replied to me, worry and anger evident in his voice.
I scoffed bitterly but didn't comment.
I sucked in a breath when an alluring scent of wet pine and cinnamon hit my nostrils. My heart skipped a beat when I realized what was happening.
That can't be.
How can it be?
