Chapter 75 I Was Having Fun
Chapter 75 I Was Having Fun
Harry’s POV:
“What do you want?” I was tired from all the activities I had to do today; all I wanted was to talk to Leone, spend thirty minutes at the party, and return home to bed. I wanted to be with my girl if she would let me; just holding her while we slept was all I needed.
“You broke up with me because of her.”
“No, Frankie, I broke up with you because you are sick and you make me sick. Get that into your skull and make yourself scarce.”
Her tears came rolling down her cheeks, and she nodded. “Don’t blame me for showing your little girl just how crazy I am.” She turned to leave, but I grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
“You could go ahead on national TV and make all these threats if you wish, but if you lay so much as a finger on Pancake, then I will let you know where crazy people like you are admitted.” I looked at her with disgust, wondering how I was ever with such a girl. I pushed her and walked away while she rained curses at my back.
After an eternity, I finally found Leone, but she wasn’t alone. She leaned against a pillar in a quiet part of the racing venue, and before her was a blonde who had her tongue buried in Leone’s throat as they kissed fiercely. Leone was on the point of pulling the blonde’s top off but stopped when she spotted me.
“What the fuck?” She looked at me like I had intentionally stood there and watched her try to get laid; that would be disgusting.
“The others left to attend the party,” I said casually. She fixed her clothes, pulling her skirt down, before walking toward me while the blonde watched her with complete lust.
“I will be there soon; no need to look for me.”
“What happened?” I wanted to know what happened to her. She seemed to be losing her cool these days, and I knew there was a time I had wished for Leone to finally let all those emotions out rather than keep them in and hide behind that calm smile of hers and her perfect look.
“I was having fun before you came, so…”
“Hey, I am Harry,” I cut in and introduced myself to the blonde, who smiled.
“Arian, and I know who you are.”
“But I don’t… are you a student? Are you from Roonie?”
Leone rolled her eyes and held my hand, pulling me to a corner before she rested her hand on her hip. “Don’t act like my father now.”
“Then stop acting like a kid.”
She frowned, about to lash out, but breathed heavily and looked at me like she didn’t have enough energy for this. “Just leave me alone, Harry.”
“I am sorry,” I blurted out as she turned to join Arian. “I am sorry I went after Pancake even when…”
“You think I am upset that she chose to be with you?” She questioned in disbelief, as if the fact that I assumed that was crazy.
“I have always known there was something between you both, so I don’t hate the fact that you both decided to grow up and all. What upsets me is that you are playing with her emotions and she is just letting you.”
Doing a bet was crazy; I should have never done that, but I wasn’t with Pancake right now because of that bet—I genuinely wanted to be with her.
“I am serious about Pancake.”
“Sure, I believe you.” She chuckled and placed a finger on my chest. “But we both know you will hurt her so badly she won’t be able to pick up the pieces and move on because that’s what you do, Harry. You destroy and distance yourself from what you love.”
The fact that she thinks she knows me so much actually makes me laugh because, although I knew Leone so well—like she was a book I’d read—I doubt she actually managed to figure me out.
If I ever have a say, I will never hurt Pancake. Not in this life and not in the next.
“You blame me for being with her even when there is a possibility of hurting her, but isn’t that exactly what you tried to do? Isn’t that exactly what you are doing with Arian?” I asked with a sneer. Leone’s family was even crazier than mine; they were so traditional they had her betrothed to some man, and their wedding was going to take place immediately after her graduation.
The wedding wasn’t even a debate, and I knew she was willing to give it all up for Purple. She was willing to defy her parents and call off the engagement if Purple had agreed to be with her, but I doubt she will do all that for Arian.
“Just leave.” Leone walked back to Arian. I sighed and chose to leave; we had plenty of time to talk, and now just wasn’t the right time.
