Chapter 9 I didn't hate her
Oscar’s P.O.V.
I stared at him coldly while Madelyn gasped aloud for air while coughing hard. She was now lying pathetically on the ground near my feet, but my eyes were locked with him.
“Actually, I am not curious about you being in prison. I am curious how Uncle Victor will react when he learns that you ruin his lifelong planning by having a record," he added with a cold chuckle.
“None of your business, Blackwood. Stay out of my business.” I yelled at him coldly.
He was standing near the railings, leaning his butt on the sides casually, a volleyball spinning on the index finger of his right hand, coldness and contempt evident in his eyes.
“Leave now, Oscar. Or else.” He paused, but I got his threat. I stiffened, clenching my jaw tightly and my fists hard enough to make his nose bleed in one punch.
I looked at Madelyn, who was still coughing and gasping for air.
I narrowed my eyes and looked between them curiously. A weird idea suddenly crept into my mind.
“Don’t run the donkeys of your brain, cousin. Messing with you and making you lose your mind is more fun than going after a pssy.” I clenched my jaw tightly one more time.
What was I thinking?
He is Maximus Blackwood. The only son of my mother’s brother, the next heir of the Blackwood family, and a pain in my a.
He shifted the spinning ball from one hand to another, still looking at me mockingly, but I could feel the challenge in his gaze.
I huffed and then walked away from there in long strides.
Because of him, I was punished by my mother and was confined at home for two days. He was attacked, and somehow, the evidence pointed at me.
If I have to kill him, I will hire professionals and assassins, not street thugs.
But everyone, including my family, is so impressed with his intelligence and sharp grasp on business tactics and other things that I have had the hardest time of all.
I stopped at the corner of the corridor and hid behind the wall to see if he approached Madelyn or not.
Maximus never showed concern for a girl before.
Heck, his indifference towards the female population had made the whole family worried about his sexul orientation after a certain incident in the past.
So, I was really curious to know why he ruined my fun with Madelyn.
It’s not like that; I was really going to kill her, but I couldn’t deny the thrill that I felt when she was gagging and her face went white.
To my dismay, he didn’t stay more than ten seconds and walked away as if nothing had happened.
I scowled hard in disappointment and was about to move away when I noticed that Madelyn wasn’t moving.
She was still lying in that awkward position, her face towards the floor, partially bent at her waist, and now no movements in her limbs.
“Maddie.” I yelled her name anxiously. I counted till 20, hoping that she would move during that time, but to my horror, she was still in the same position.
I ran towards her direction in panic. The class has already started, and if something really had happened to her, her life would be in danger.
Did I really strangle her to death?
Maximus saw me strangling her, and the surveillance cameras….
OMG!!!!!!
I guess I had never run so fast as I did this time. I slipped on my knees to her when I reached there.
I immediately grabbed her arm and pulled her up into my embrace.
“Maddie….. Maddie. Hey.” I yelled at her in panic, but my breath hitched in panic when I saw her pale face and that bruise on her neck…..
Fk!!!!!!
I was doomed….
I was completely doomed this time….
How did this happen?
“Maddie… hey…. Maddie. Don’t scare me.” I patted her cheek lightly while calling her name in panic.
Her body had always been soft, and I knew that she got bruises easily.
That dark purple color on her neck was now glaring at me.
I immediately fished my phone out of my pant pocket, intending to send a message to Galvin.
My hands were now shaking badly. She was unconscious…… like literally unconscious.
Her breathing was shallow too.
I moved her in my embrace and pressed her face on my chest, holding her tightly while texting Galvin, asking him to get a water bottle as quickly as possible. I also sent him my location.
“Damn it, Maddie. Wake up. Don’t scare me, okay? I promise th… that I will behave… don’t scare me.” I pleaded to her in a low and shaky voice while sending the message.
I don’t hate Madelyn. I knew everything about her that I should know.
The only problem that I had with her was the freedom that she had in her life. She was an orphan, and yes, she was right.
Family is important, and I also loved my family, but I hated being controlled by them.
I hated being told what to do or what not to do.
I hated being scolded all the time instead of getting guidance from them.
On the other hand, Madelyn was unfortunate for not having a parent figure or an elder in her life.
She takes her own decisions, does things that she loves to do, and above all, she has the freedom to chase her dreams.
Everyone in my circle was envious of her.
I know that I am sounding childish, but we always get envious of the things that we don’t have, right?
I pocketed my phone after sending the message and slipped my hand under her knees.
“I swear to god, Maddie. I swear that if you don’t wake up quickly, I will throw you down from here.” I threatened her in panic. She was completely lifeless.
I stood up and ran towards an empty room that was in the next corridor on my right.
I was glad that she was still gasping for air when Maximus was there, or else I couldn’t even imagine what would have happened to me when my parents learned about this.
I left everything else there. Galvin can take care of this later.
Her body was limp, almost lifeless, in my embrace.
Fk!!!!!!!
What have I done???
I only intended to scare her. After getting tormented for two days, I wanted an outlet to vent my frustration and anger, and she appeared in front of me right on time.
How could this happen????
Did her retort provoke me to this extent, or was it her defiance?
I sat down at the edge of the teacher’s platform, holding her safely on my lap.
“Hey, Maddie. Wake up.” I patted her cheek lightly in panic.
My heart was now thumping hard against my ribcage in fear.
“Wake up, please.” I pleaded to her, almost in tears by now.
“Oscar!!!! What happened?” I looked up and saw Galvin with Fred and Easton coming inside with a panic expression on his face.
