Chapter 245
Flora had wanted to run away.
But she never expected to see a group of people standing right at the door.
Her face, which had been flushed from sex, turned completely pale at that moment.
She stared in disbelief, stammering, "You... what are you doing here?"
Tyler rushed forward and slapped Flora hard across the face.
You slut! Is this what your family taught you? Look at what you've done!
Flora covered her face, her eyes instantly welling up with tears.
"Dad, how... how can you say that to me? And you hit me? You've never hit me before!"
"I was too good to you before, that's why I spoiled you into what you are now!"
Tyler was still furious and lifted his hand for another slap.
Now both sides of Flora's face were completely swollen.
Ember felt sorry for her and quickly stepped forward to grab Tyler's arm.
"Look at you! can't you talk things through? Why do you have to hit your daughter?"
"I almost forgot about you!"
Tyler backhanded Ember with a slap across her face.
"Look at the wonderful daughter you've raised! Making a scene like this! You don't mind looking like trash, but I have a name to protect!"
"Tyler, you dare hit me? Your own daughter just got taken advantage of, and instead of helping her, you hit us both?"
Ember's eyes flared red as she clawed at Tyler's face., "Divorce! I want a divorce from you. I can't spend another day with you!"
The two of them, with a combined age of over a hundred, started wrestling with each other.
I shook my head in amazement and stepped back to avoid getting caught.
Tyler had always pretended to be quite refined in front of me before.
I could guess why he was so worked up now.
The Miller Group was in a precarious situation.
Chris and Rowan's marriage fell through, and they hadn't found another sucker yet.
Flora was just the right age to get married.
If they could use Flora's marriage to bring in a business alliance for the Miller family, it could solve their current problems.
But if Flora's scandalous photos from today got out...
Forget about attracting investment—even marrying Flora off would probably be difficult!
Jason stood beside me, watching the drama unfold with me.
He leaned down close to my ear and commented quietly, "Honey, look—you can't have this kind of man. He actually hits his own wife. Clearly has no morals. Not like me—I never hit back when my wife hits me, never talk back when she yells at me."
I turned my head and glanced at him.
"How are you still managing to praise yourself while watching this drama?"
Jason raised an eyebrow, looking quite pleased with himself, "Just telling the truth."
While we were talking, Tyler finally pinned Ember down.
He spoke rapidly, barely containing his anger, "Enough! Are you done yet?"
Ember's eyes were red, "I called you here to solve Flora's problem, not to have you bully us mother and daughter in front of all these people! Or has your heart already gone to that bitch Cora?"
Tyler had a headache, "Stop, stop, stop. Why are you bringing that up again?"
Flora looked at them arguing with fear, her voice trembling, "Mom, Dad, please... please stop fighting and deal with those reporters first!"
The reporters holding the juicy story didn't know whether to leave or stay.
Although the Miller Group wasn't what it used to be, it would still be easy for the Miller family to go after ordinary people like them.
Only then did Ember react, forcing down her anger, "That's right! You need to fix this now!"
Tyler's face darkened, "Fix it? How do you want me to fix it? You raised such a shameless daughter who tried to seduce Jason, and now you want to fix it? You're asking the wrong person!"
Ember's gaze fell on Jason.
Jason put his arm around me, "I listen to my wife."
Only then did Ember reluctantly look at me, "Sue, what will it take for you to let this go?"
Everyone's eyes instantly focused on me.
My expression remained calm and indifferent, "This matter should be handled however it should be handled."
"What do you mean?"
Flora frowned and jumped in, "Sue, I clearly saw Jason first. You're the shameless one trying to steal my man. What more do you want now?"
I shrugged, too lazy to answer her, and looked at Tyler and Ember, "You both saw it—certain people have absolutely no awareness that they did anything wrong. Let this matter develop however it's going to develop."
Watching drama gets tiring after a while.
I turned to look at Jason.
Jason immediately understood, "You all heard that? Whether you got shots or not, you can all leave now."
He paused and added, "When to publish what you have, how to write it, how to publish it—I don't need to teach you, right?"
The reporters nodded repeatedly and fled like they were flying.
The hallway instantly became empty.
Jason ignored the Miller family's various expressions and left holding my hand.
The next day was the weekend.
After sleeping in and having brunch with Jason in our room, we drove home.
Before we even got home, Lily called.
"Sue, have you seen it! Flora's sex scandal is all over the internet! It's already trending!"
I held the phone a bit farther away, somewhat helpless, "I know about this. I watched it live yesterday."
"What?"
Lily's voice suddenly shot up.
"Something this explosive happened and you didn't tell me! Am I not your favorite baby anymore!"
Jason, who had been focused on driving, slowly turned to look over.
My internal alarm bells immediately went off. I smiled awkwardly, "Of course you're my best friend. Yesterday's incident went on for quite a while, and I was too tired at night so I went back to rest."
I told her the whole story from beginning to end.
Lily sighed, "Flora really has some nerve. You two even have a marriage certificate, and she's still obsessed with Jason."
"Does she really think that just by having sex with Jason, he'll fall for her?"
I smiled, "Who knows?"
That's what I said.
But in my heart, I trusted Jason.
Even if we hadn't discovered Flora sneaking into the room yesterday, Jason wouldn't have had any interest in Flora.
After chatting with Lily for a while longer, I hung up.
We'd just gotten home and hadn't rested yet when Lila knocked on the door.
"Mrs. Cooper, there are people at the door who want to see you. They say they're from the Miller family."
I looked down at my phone, not even lifting my head, "I won't see them."
"Okay."
Lila responded and left.
Before long, she came back, sounding troubled.
"Mrs. Cooper, they say they must see you today, or they won't leave."
I frowned in annoyance.
These people are like annoying flies that you just can't get rid of!
Flora's reputation was already ruined online. If she kept staying at the door and got photographed or something, connecting the Miller family with the Cooper family would be too disgusting.
"Let them in."
I replied and went downstairs.
I'd already prepared myself for Flora to rush in and cause a scene.
But I never expected her to kneel directly in front of me, crying, "Sue, what will it take for you to let me go?"
