Chapter 18

Tara's POV

“She's beautiful in person.” Leo stood up from where he sat approaching me,

“Hi, I've heard a lot about you around here” I said with a small smile on my face.

He smiled, “hope they are good things?” He asked, making me laugh, I nodded.

I looked at Andrew, confused in why he asked me to come over to his office to meet him.

“This is Leo, he'll take over from being my assistant for now. Seeing you're afraid of being tagged my girlfriend.” He says, Leo smiled then looked at me.

“I really do not know what you're so afraid of,” Leo said, then walked back to his seat.

“You both are guys and you see nothing wrong with it but to me, everything is wrong.” I said,

Andrew looked at Leo,

“See what I told you?” They both shared a small laugh.

“Here, have this.” Andrew says to me, handing me a paper wrapped in a Blue file.

“Give this to the resources manager, tell him to transfer to the Marketing department.” He said, I smiled. The marketing team was perfect, not far from what I knew.

“This is perfect. Thank you.” I said , taking the files as I turned to leave, I opened the doors to see Laura, she looked at me as if accessing me for something I did wrong.

“Goodmorning Laura,” I greeted, even though I just saw her at the lobby earlier, she hummed then opened the door and walked past me without answering me.

“How can a person be just angry?” I asked myself as headed to the elevator, good to the resources room.

As soon as the elevator opened, I walked out, heading to the managers office when I bumped into Dave,

“Hey,” I flashed a small smile, taking away the strand of hair that covered my face.

“What are you doing here?” He asked, I looked at his hands, he was holding a file,

“You're going somewhere?” I asked,

“To your office, actually.” He says.

“Oh…I work for the marketing team now. Mr. Leo is back” I said, he looked at me, taken aback a bit then frowns.

“Mr. Leo?”

“Yes, Mr. Leo.” I repeated after him, I looked at him, his facial expression had changed,

“What's with that look on your face” I asked,

“Everyone working with the boss seems to be with an attitude but you seem approachable.” He complained, scratching his head, and I burst into a small laughter.

“Mr. Leo's nice.” I said to him, then smiled.

“Well, not the one that I know of,” he said to me.

“He's nice. “ I smiled then walked into the office as he walked away.

As soon as I walked in, the gaze of everyone turned to me, apparently surprised to see me here. I took a deep breath then walked away as soon as my gaze fell on the Office that was boldly written as Manager.

I took another deep breath then opened the door. As I walked in, the man sat there, with his gaze fixed on his laptop as he raised his gaze up at me seeing me his face twitched into a frown.

“Tara?” He called, and I nodded.

“Laura sent me your letter of transfer from the management.” He says with his lips pursed into a frown.

“I was asked to give you this.” I said handing him the file He had given me. My eyes traveled to the name inscribed on the glass.

“Mr. Gregory Holt”

“I'm happy to work with you, sir.” I said giving a short bow.

He looked at me, the turned back to the file,

“We don't condone any form of lackadaisical attitude here,” he let out a scorn.

If this is another shade he was throwing me then I would not take it. The door opened and a lady walked in,

She was a short petite blonde haired girl, her face held a pretty smile.

“Glory…. Show her to her office.” He said to her,

“You're welcome Miss.” She gave me a small smile, gesturing I follow her.

I followed her as we got to my new office, it's been barely twenty four hours and I had switched positions like I own the company.

“So this is your office,” she says walking in, it was a room unit with four other tables too of other staff.

“This is mine,” she says pointing at her mini office close to the door. I nodded then smiled.

“We're just the Analysis team and I believe you would learn alot from you.

I smiled, “I believe I have a lot to learn as a newbie.

Glory drifted back, then says

“After the stunt you pulled the other day at the board meeting. Your name seems to be everywhere and on everyone's lips.” She added, now it all makes sense why the manager was looking at me that way when I walked into his office earlier.

“You should settle down, I have a lot of work to do but if you need anything, I'll be over there.” She says with a warm smile. I gave her a slight nod as she walked to her table.

I sat down on my table, a sense of peace washed over me, as I sat on the table like some achievement.

Glory then walked up to me with a stack of files.

“How about you start with balancing these accounts,” she says, I smiled as I watched her walk out of the office, the other staff were not around yet so I was clearly the only one around. With that I buried my head in my work.

It was just like Andrew had taught me over the time, it was not up to an hour, my telephone rang, I hesitantly picked it up,

“Hello?” I said through the phone waiting for the caller to respond.

“You have a visitor, Ma'am Tara.” Laura's voice says through the phone sounding so tiring.

My face twitched, who would be looking for me at the company?

“She says her name is Stella, Ma'am.”o froze on the spot.

“What's Stella doing here?”
