Chapter 17

Tara's POV

I woke up the next morning feeling a bit too tired and my body aching all over. I yawned aloud as I tossed over to the other side of the bed, only to land on an empty space. I touched it again to verify if I was still sleeping but I slowly opened my eyes to the space empty, apparently, the sheets were cold meaning, Andrew didn't sleep here last night.

I sprang up to my feet like one be chased, as my eyes scanned the room but there was no sign of him.

“Is he gone already?” I asked no one in particular. Even his things were gone. I stood up from the bed then entered my bathroom, as I brushed my teeth and washed my face, after that I took my bath, it was a Tuesday, the second day of my new job at the company.

I got out of my shower, then took out a simple pencil light pink blouse and a wine skirt. Which matched perfectly, after which I packed my hair up into a high pony tail. I did a very light makeup,

Who cares? It's my boyfriend's company anyway.

After I done, I appreciated my looks in the mirror, admiring my reflection, I was late already, I picked up my bag then ran downstairs to see Nanny Dorothy already preparing breakfast but sadly, I'm not going to eat it.

“Good morning Nanny,” I greeted as I rushed down the stairs, she looked up at me,.

“Looking good as always. You should eat.” She says to me.

My face saddened, “ I'm so sorry Nanny but I cannot stay for breakfast today, but I'll eat when I get there.” I said,

“But it's Andrew. He's the owner of the company, he wouldn't bother if you eat during work hours.” A surprise look appeared on my face.

“Nanny?”

“What?” She rolled her eyes playfully. “ It's true anyway.” She added again, I just couldn't help it but laugh.

“Where's Andrew? Didn't see him at all this Morning?”

“Why are you looking for Andrew when this is not his house.” I looked at her strangely, she pouted her lips, “ Yes, that's what you're thinking. He has gone back his Mansion.” She added.

“Why didn't he tell me?” I frowned.

“Well, he didn't want to disturb your sleep last night. You slept so soundly and considering the fact he waited all night yesterday, only for you to return late.” She scolded, I smiled, then checked my time it was already past Severn.

“Okay, Nanny, I'll be leaving now.” I said grabbing a handful of the chocolates cookies she had kept on the table to coool.

“Tara!” Nanny called, I ran to door,

“Bye, Nanny……” I rushed out closing the door as I headed for the car, the driver was already waiting for me.

I got in and we drove out of the compound. Few blocks to the company building I said to the driver.

“Alex, I'd love to stop here.” I said, as I took out my ID card, then I hung it over my neck.

Alex I do turned to me,

“Ma? I don't think boss Andrew would be pleased if he finds out I didn't take you to the office properly.” He says,

“I know. But the boss wouldn't know until we tell him ourselves, isn't it?’ I tried to convince him perfectly.

“But ma_” before he could complete his sentence, I got out and then closed the door walking towards the company with was two buildings from where I stood. Just as I was about to enter the company lobby, I heard my name, my heart sank deep into my stomach, I turned to see Dave waving at me.

“Hi, Dave.” I greeted, he looked at me panting,

“ Do you have something in those legs of yours?” He asked, breathing hard, causing me to laugh.

*No…we're late already.” I said, well walking fast equals to not getting caught, isn't it?

He raised his gaze at me,

“I thou I saw you walk out of an SUV just now? Or am I seeing things?” My heart sank,

“Clearly, you are. Where would I see an SUV? Talk more of entering it?” I said faking a small chuckle.

“Maybe, I did see another thing, “ He said then smiles, my blood pressure immediately came back to normal.

“Let go in before we're late.” He says to me. I nodded, as I followed him thanking the stars of heaven for saving me this one reckless time.

We both got into the lobby, then signed on with our identity cards then walked in, as I passed the Secretary's desk, she called me with a small frown on her face. Well, as Dave said, Laura hates everyone.

“I'll see you later,” I said to Dave, who nodded the ln went ahead to enter the elevator going to his department.

“Is there a problem?” I asked Laura.

She liked at me with a pale expression on her face like one who's boyfriend just broke up with and was mourning.

“ The boss said you should report to his office as soon as you arrive. So I suggest you go now.” She added, with her gothic voice.

I shook my head, seeing she was done talking and didn't want to talk further, I gathered the piece of information she barely dropped, then headed to the top floor where Andrew's office was.

As soon as I knock on the door,

“Come in, “ his deep voice says, as I slowly opened up the door, then walked in,

“Good morning Andr_ Sir.” I quickly corrected seeing there was another in the room.

Andrew laughed and soon the man joined him in the laughter,

“She's cool,” he said to Andrew. I was confused, who is this and why is he amused by me? I frowned, and immediately Andrew saw the frown on my face, he laughed the more.

He then paused after series of laughter, he turned time and said,

“Babe, this is Leo.” Andrew says making me gasped.

“The same Leo?” I asked and he nodded.
