Chapter 19

Tara's POV

“Stella?” I called again to be sure that was the name she called,

“Yes, ma. She said her name is Stella. And if she mentions the name you'll know her.” Laura says over the phone.

I immediately dropped the called,as I stood up abruptly, walking past Glory

”Where are you going to?” she asked as I walked past her,

“I'll be back soon enough,” I said to her.

I got to the lobby, as I got out from the elevator, I sighted Laura at the counter as she fixed her gaze in her system. As soon as she saw me, she pointed at Stella who stood at the other end of the lobby, admiring the large picture of Andrew hung in the wall.

She was putting on a lemon green grown, with feathers design as the hemmif her dress, she posed ad she looked at the picture.

I watched her for some time, what the hell is she doing here? And how did she know she was working here?

“Carlos.” Who am I kidding?” He must have told her or she figured it out herself.

“Stella?” I called, she turned switching looking at me, with a small smile in her face, which I knew came from a place that was not her heart.

“Tara, what a pleasant_” she says, trying to hug me, I immediately drifted back, not to be caught in her overwhelming greed and jealousy.

“What are you doing here?” I threw her a glare as she stood there.

“I'm here to see you.” She says with much confidence. To think she could just come in here and request my presence showed me she had zero guts and no shame at all.

“You know I keep wondering if you do have shame?” I said to her,

“Shame?” She chuckled, “ I don't have one, my darling.” She says, I looked at her in disgust as she smirked.

“We cannot discuss here.” She continued,

“I cannot leave, I am working.” I said to her, as I folded my arms looking at her, we were beginning to draw attention to ourselves as everyone was looking at me with a particular gaze in their eyes.

I knew Stella, if she said she wanted to see me, she wouldn't leave here till she sees me, which makes me wonder how the hells rrenwe friends since college,

“What is it that you want?” I asked again.

“It's about Carlos. I'm here to get my words straight to you.” My curiosity shoots up, did she really come all the way from Marie Estate to see me and talk to me about my ex husband.

“And tell me why, you want us to talk about him. He's clearly not mine?”

“But you still have him wrapped around your fingers. So I'm here to tell you to leave my husband alone.” She stated with her tone rising a bit as everyone turned to me, with disgusted looks in their faces, even Laura who seemed to not care about my welfare suddenly became concerned with what Stella was sprotting out of her mouth.

I clenched my hands, as I watched her, bshe was trying to humiliate me at work, but this time I won't let her, I moved closer to her in a small whisper,

“Let's talk at the cafeteria.” I said to her and walked passed her, with my head up high and heels kissing the ground so pleasantly that I walked, away.

She smirked, then scoffed as she followed me, I Ignored the whispers and the looks, they should come up with something better, this was outdated and I have gotten used to this already.

We got to the cafeteria, I took my seat and crossed my legs as I looked intently at her, what was she up to? What was she planning? Why is she here? Is Carlos the real reason she is here?

The waiter, came to use to get our order, she requested for a glass of water, but I was fine.

“What are you doing here, Stella?” I asked, she looked at me without uttering a word, then pursed her lips, as she dropped her fingers on the table, my eye caught with the big diamond rock on her fingers.

My heart clenched as I watched the ring in her middle finger,

“So he proposed?” I thought deeply looking at her with an expressionless look on my face.

“I see he proposed.” I said after a much silence, she flashed a smirk.

“Yes he did. He loves me too much.” She added trying to spite me, I looked at her then scoffed.

The waited walked in with a tray of her glass water, served it and then left with the tray in his hands.

“Or one of his tricks again. Who knows the girl he truely loves is out there.” I said, if she wa going to spite me all the while she is here, then I might as well throw shades at her in return.

“Or maybe your are the one who wouldn't let him be.” She stated with a harsh tone, I was immediately taken aback by her words. I watched her take a sip of her glass of water, looking intently at me through the glass.

“Me?” I said but then burst into laughter, finding her words very funny, her face squeezed into a frown.

“Do you know how funny that sounds?” I asked her after getting myself.

“What do you mean? I came all the way here to tell you to let Carlos alone! He broke up with you so can you let him be?” She says, her forehead folding into a frown.

I sat there looking at her, with a look of pity as I watched her display her madness.

“I should stay away from Carlos?” I asked again, she nodded

“Yes. He seems to loose it after you visited last night. Or haven't you gotten over the sex?” she says carelessly, I immediately frowned. That was not what I would tolerate from her,

“Excuse you?” I rose from my chair.

“You are excused,” she rolled her eyes, falling back to her chair with her arms folded into each other

I grabbed the water from the table, as I stood up in anger, I splashed it all over her.

Everyone gasped.
