Chapter 97 This Feeling Is Very Happy
"Sherry, check out those designers! They’re all world-famous jewelry and fashion designers!"
"What are they doing in Silverlight City?"
Sherry followed Mindy's gaze and saw the manager of the Carlton Hotel leading a few designers into the restaurant. She hadn’t expected to run into such big names while checking out the engagement venue setup.
Sherry thought about her upcoming wedding dress, the engagement party, and the wedding reception. Having a wedding dress designed by a top designer would be something to brag about. In the past, these designers wouldn’t have taken on a job for just any celebrity. But now, as Armando’s fiancée, she felt confident they’d be interested.
Sherry walked over and greeted them with a smile. "Mr. Harvey, hi. Sorry to interrupt."
She smiled at the other designers too. Gilbert, one of the renowned fashion designers known for his luxurious and elegant designs, stood up politely.
"Hello, ma'am," he said.
Sherry spoke courteously, not wanting to take up too much of Gilbert’s time. "It’s really an honor to meet you. My fiancé, Mr. Johnson, and I are getting married soon. I was hoping you could design my wedding dress."
Gilbert, unbothered by her direct approach, responded, "I’m currently working on a custom order for another client."
Sherry was disappointed but thanked him. "Thank you, I won’t keep you from your meal."
Another designer, Kurt Lowe, recognized Armando. He had designed clothes for Armando for several years, though it was always Elizabeth who contacted him. Over the past year, he hadn’t received any orders from her.
Kurt turned to Sherry. "Congratulations on your engagement to Mr. Johnson. I’ve been designing his clothes for years."
Sherry smiled in surprise. "Thank you, Mr. Lowe."
She felt a bit regretful, realizing she should have asked Kurt about the wedding dress first. Now, it wasn’t appropriate to ask in front of Gilbert. She planned to get Kurt’s contact information from Armando later.
Mindy and Sherry left the restaurant.
Mindy said regretfully, "I really wanted to get some custom jewelry. It’s weird that all these designers are in Silverlight City."
Sherry shook her head. "I don’t know. Maybe there’s some event. I’m planning to go to the Johnson Group to see Armando. Wanna come?"
Mindy blinked and smiled. "I’ll let you two have some time alone."
Sherry blushed and playfully glared at Mindy. After Mindy got in her car and left, Sherry got into another car. She first bought some pastries and coffee for Opal and the secretarial team at the Johnson Group.
Although Sherry rarely visited the Johnson Group, Opal knew her as Armando’s future wife.
"Thank you for the coffee and pastries, Miss Scott," Opal said with a smile. She called Tom, then led Sherry to Armando’s private elevator.
When Armando got Tom’s call saying Sherry was looking for him, he responded calmly. Sherry reached the 20th floor and handed the pastries and coffee to Tom, taking one cup of coffee with her into Armando’s office.
"Armando," Sherry said as she walked to the desk and placed the coffee on it. "I brought you some coffee."
She leaned over and kissed Armando’s lips, smiling sweetly. "I went to the Carlton Hotel today to check out the engagement venue setup. It looks amazing."
Armando rubbed his temple. "As long as you like it."
"I met the designer Mr. Lowe today. I’d like him to design my wedding dress. What do you think?" Sherry circled the desk, sat on the armrest of Armando’s chair, and hugged his neck, asking happily.
Armando glanced at Sherry and stood up, walking to the sofa. "It’s up to you."
Sherry was pleased that Armando always listened to her. She followed him to the sofa.
"Can you give me Mr. Lowe’s contact information so I can reach out to him?"
Armando pulled out a cigarette. He had been smoking more frequently lately. "I don’t have his contact info."
"Strange. Mr. Lowe said he’s been designing your clothes for years," Sherry said, puzzled. "Did he mistake you for someone else?"
Armando paused, remembering that Elizabeth had mentioned hiring Kurt for custom clothes.
Just then, Sherry received a call from Della, reminding her of a show recording. "Got it, I’ll be there soon," she said, hanging up. "Armando, I have to go to the recording."
As Sherry left the office, she asked Tom in passing, "Mr. Davis, do you have Mr. Lowe’s contact information?"
Tom was efficient and might be able to help.
Sofia, sitting at the next desk, looked up. "Miss Scott, I have Mr. Lowe’s contact info."
Sherry smiled in surprise. "Thank you."
She walked to Sofia’s desk and saw Sofia open a notebook. Sofia found Kurt’s contact information and wrote it down for Sherry.
Sherry noticed Elizabeth’s name on the notebook cover. It was clearly Elizabeth’s work notebook! Sherry clenched the paper in her hand, suddenly understanding.
No wonder Kurt said he had been designing Armando’s clothes for years. Elizabeth had been the one contacting him for Armando’s custom clothes.
Sherry felt a mix of anger and discomfort, but she smiled as she took the paper from Sofia. "Thanks."
She planned to buy new clothes for Armando after the recording. She wanted to replace all the clothes in his wardrobe.
Sherry left the Johnson Group and got into her car. She crumpled Kurt’s contact information and threw it into the trash.
By evening, Sherry had finished recording and went straight to the mall to buy clothes. She bought clothes for Armando and had them sent for cleaning immediately. She also instructed the maids to pack up the clothes in the wardrobe.
Axel arranged for the maids to pack the wardrobe but informed Tom. Tom frowned slightly after hearing Axel’s report, then hung up.
Armando had a social engagement that night. Tom approached Armando and whispered about Axel’s report. Armando put down his wine glass and excused himself, leaving the event. Tom followed.
A car was waiting at the entrance. Armando got in and coldly ordered, "Arrange to have Emerald Park cleaned and send all my clothes there."
There was a hint of ruthlessness in his eyes. Tom called Axel. Axel followed Armando’s orders, arranging for Emerald Park to be cleaned and the packed clothes to be sent there.
Sherry was unaware of these arrangements. She came out of the bath, towel in hand, drying her hair. Seeing Armando, she walked over and smiled, "You’re back."
Sherry was undeniably beautiful. She sat on Armando’s lap. Her long hair was still wet, and her robe slightly open, with water droplets on her collarbone, adding a touch of allure.
Armando looked at Sherry indifferently, extinguishing his cigarette. His long fingers rested on Sherry’s delicate neck. They tightened slightly. Sherry didn’t notice. After a moment, his fingers moved down and opened Sherry’s robe.
Sherry leaned against him, her face flushed. "You haven’t taken a bath yet."
Armando’s long fingers emotionlessly withdrew from Sherry’s robe. "I heard from Axel that you bought me clothes?" he asked coolly.
Sherry lowered her eyes, avoiding Armando’s gaze, and smiled. "I wanted to buy you clothes myself. It makes me happy."
"Happy?" Armando’s cold voice echoed the word. His gaze was scrutinizing. Sherry felt uneasy. She tried to please him by kissing his jaw. Her eyes sparkled. "To be honest, I was jealous. I heard Elizabeth bought those clothes for you."
She was smart. And she was good at guessing his thoughts. Sensing something was off, she could quickly adjust.
Armando curled his lips. Because she was so good at guessing his thoughts, she had deceived him. Making him feel even more foolish.
