Chapter 393: Expelled from Home
After Stefan sat down.
He clearly felt Timothy's invisible aura and couldn't help but straighten his back even more.
Elizabeth quietly nudged Timothy's calf, signaling him not to be so serious.
Stefan sat on the sofa, sitting up very straight and proper.
This was the first time Seraphina had seen Stefan looking nervous.
Seeing him so tense, she couldn't help but laugh to herself.
After all, Stefan was usually so gentle and confident - this was the first time she'd seen him look so uptight.
Stefan had no idea that Seraphina was wickedly laughing at him in her mind.
He tried to keep his voice as steady as possible and continued, "Mrs. Robinson, Mr. Robinson, in a couple of days, my parents will not only come to apologize, but also to discuss the wedding. Our two families can talk about the wedding together and see what arrangements would be best."
Seraphina obediently nodded along and chimed in, "That's right."
Timothy had wanted to tell them not to rush into marriage, since Seraphina was still young.
But seeing that Seraphina had already nodded in agreement, Timothy swallowed the words that were on the tip of his tongue.
Timothy cleared his throat lightly.
Elizabeth reached out and gently patted the back of Timothy's hand twice, clearly comforting him, then poured him some water to drink.
Seraphina was already used to seeing Elizabeth and Timothy's occasional little displays of affection.
Stefan politely lowered his eyes.
Elizabeth skillfully picked up the glass and helped Timothy drink some water - the whole thing took less than a second.
When Timothy was done drinking, she put the glass back on the table and looked at Stefan warmly, "Since Seraphina and Stefan have both decided, as parents we naturally need to respect their choice. When your parents come over in a couple of days, we'll all have a good talk about the wedding details."
Stefan nodded, feeling a bit more relaxed, "Okay."
Just then, the sound of a hungry stomach growling rang out, and the adults stopped their conversation.
Brandon covered his rumbling stomach and raised his hand pitifully to speak, "Mommy, I'm sorry, my tummy won't behave - it says it's hungry."
He'd been very active today, so naturally his stomach got hungry quickly.
"Let's eat first." Elizabeth stood up with a smile in her eyes, reached out to hold Timothy's hand, and walked to the dining room.
Timothy's hands had been slightly cool lately, unlike her warm palms.
Elizabeth buried her unease deep in her heart.
Brandon quickly followed, running off to wash his hands first like a good boy.
Stefan and Seraphina exchanged glances and followed them to the dining room.
Stefan watched Elizabeth and Timothy walking ahead, feeling quite amazed.
Even for such a short distance, Elizabeth and Timothy still held hands - their relationship was really good.
After dinner, Stefan said goodbye and left Seraphina's house.
As soon as he got home, he received a call from Wilmer.
"Stefan, want to go on a picnic together on Saturday? Finnley and the others are in Border Ridge City." Wilmer's house was quite lively now, with college friends Finnley Chase and Mike Fife visiting, and they were planning to stay up all night gaming.
"Let me ask Seraphina first to see if she wants to go," Stefan said without any embarrassment, "If Seraphina doesn't go, I won't go either."
"You're actually showing off your relationship to me, fine, if you guys are going, just text me back," Wilmer hung up the phone and couldn't help but laugh a few times.
He turned to Finnley and Mike and said, "Stefan is already showing signs of only listening to his girlfriend."
Finnley asked curiously, "Stefan has a girlfriend? That fast?"
Mike also looked up at Wilmer with a curious expression.
Wilmer walked over and sat down on the sofa, "He's always had a girlfriend, hasn't he? It's Dione - no wait, I should say, Seraphina Penrose."
"What? Those two are still together?" Finnley spoke first, his tone clearly surprised.
Wilmer nodded with a smile, "Of course it's true. I only found out recently too, and not only is Seraphina Stefan's girlfriend, she's also the chairman of Seraphina Enterprises, my current boss. None of us saw that coming, right?"
Finnley and the others had naturally heard of Seraphina Enterprises - it was an internationally ranked company.
Finnley and Mike looked at each other.
On the other side, Stefan texted Seraphina asking if she wanted to go on a picnic with Wilmer and the others on Saturday.
Seraphina was lying in bed, holding her phone, and quickly replied, [Sure, sounds like a good way to relax]
Stefan saw the reply and texted Wilmer back with a smile, confirming they'd go on the picnic this Saturday.
The next day, Friday.
Seraphina was in a meeting when she received a call from Timothy.
Generally, unless it was something important, Timothy wouldn't call her during work hours.
So receiving a call at this time made Seraphina quite nervous. She apologized to the manager who was giving a report, "Sorry, I need to take this call."
The manager nodded and sat down.
Seraphina answered the phone while walking out of the conference room. Before she even left the room, she heard Timothy say on the other end, "Seraphina, tomorrow is Saturday. Take Brandon out to play and don't let him stick to your mommy at home."
Seraphina was very confused.
She thought Timothy was calling about something important, but it was just for this? Just for this?
She didn't even need to leave the conference room, because after Timothy said that, he told her to work hard and hung up.
Seraphina was speechless.
Seraphina put her phone in her pocket, returned to the conference table, and said calmly, "Let's continue the meeting."
She knew it - Timothy just found her and Brandon being at home an eyesore.
No matter how active her thoughts were, her expression remained serious during the meeting.
The meeting lasted an hour. Seraphina checked the time, "That's all for today's meeting. Each department should proceed according to plan and report any issues promptly."
Seraphina left the conference room and returned to her office, with Jacob following her in.
"Seraphina, there's a business banquet at Springfield Grand Hotel next Wednesday. Do you want to go?"
"I'll go. This will be my first real public appearance, so there will probably be people trying to get information from me," Seraphina thought for a moment, "Mr. Grant, please prepare a list of the important guests attending the banquet and any information I need to know."
She'd never attended such a banquet and hadn't met any business figures. What she needed to do now was learn about these business people.
Jacob nodded, "Okay, I'll organize the relevant materials and send them to you before I leave work."
After Jacob left the office, Seraphina texted Stefan to tell him that Brandon would be joining them for the picnic tomorrow.
Adding one child to the picnic was fine with everyone.
Saturday morning, Timothy knocked on the door at seven o'clock to wake up Seraphina and Brandon.
Seraphina walked out of the room with messy hair, and Brandon came out rubbing his eyes.
Seraphina's eyelids were fighting to stay open, but Timothy could still coldly tell them to go out and exercise.
"Dad, it's Saturday. Can we sleep in a bit?" Seraphina rubbed her head, her voice carrying some drowsiness.
Timothy looked serious, "No, early to bed and early to rise is good for your health, especially for you two."
Brandon rubbed his eyes while yawning, his little face full of sleepiness, "Daddy, I'm still sleepy, and Mommy is still sleeping too."
Brandon was really clever, even using Elizabeth as an excuse.
Seraphina showed a mysterious smile.
Sure enough, the next second, Timothy pinched Brandon's ear, "Of course your mommy doesn't have to get up this early, she's your mommy."
A moment of silence.
Brandon hung his little head, "Being a mommy is so nice."
If only he could be a mommy in the future.
Hearing Brandon's envious expression and tone made Timothy feel speechless.
Timothy, Seraphina, and Brandon ate a little something, and after digesting, they went to exercise.
When the three of them came back and had just finished breakfast, Timothy urged Seraphina to take Brandon out of the house.
Seraphina and Brandon stood outside the door, turned back to look at the tightly closed door, feeling very sad.
