Chapter 391: Continuing to Eavesdrop
Early in the morning, a bouquet of roses appeared in front of Seraphina.
"You became chairwoman yesterday, and I was supposed to send you flowers then. Now I'm a day late," Stefan said regretfully.
Seraphina took the flowers and couldn't help but smile.
"Are you happy?" Stefan asked with a smile in his deep eyes.
"No, I'm not happy," Seraphina wouldn't admit it. "Who told you to send flowers a day late?"
"Not happy? Then why are you smiling?" Stefan glanced at Seraphina, who was clearly saying the opposite of what she meant.
Seraphina answered very politely, "I'm not smiling."
A moment of silence.
Her mouth said she wasn't smiling, but her face was full of smiles.
Who wouldn't be in a good mood seeing flowers early in the morning?
After she left Stefan helpless, they got in the car with Stefan driving.
Seraphina asked him to hand over his phone.
Stefan handed his phone to Seraphina without hesitation. "Seraphina, do you want to check my secrets?"
After Seraphina transferred $99,999 from her phone and received it on his phone, she said, "I'm not checking your secrets. This is your wedding gift."
She said in a very calm tone, "I've given you the wedding gift. Now we should discuss the wedding date. When do you want to get married? The sooner the better for us."
Stefan said, "Seraphina, are you serious?" He had originally planned to propose after the company here stabilized, but now Seraphina was moving too fast.
And Seraphina was very direct.
Seraphina turned to look at him, her eyes threatening, "Of course I'm serious. How could I joke about something like this? I'm not the type to joke around."
While waiting at a red light, Stefan leaned over, held the back of her head with his large hand, and kissed her lower lip. "Okay, as you wish. We'll find a fortune teller to pick a good date and get married."
Seraphina felt Stefan's sudden affection and a blush appeared on her face, but she still maintained a calm expression.
She nodded, very satisfied, "That's more like it. Let's get the wedding settled early."
Seeing how serious she was, Stefan smiled gently and continued driving. "Don't worry, I'll handle the wedding arrangements perfectly. I won't let you be wronged."
He planned to first order wedding rings and find a wedding planning team.
Stefan first dropped Seraphina off at the entrance of Seraphina Enterprises. After watching Seraphina enter the company, he drove to his new company.
After parking the car, he didn't get out immediately but took out his phone to call Kennedy.
He still needed to tell Kennedy and Damon about the marriage.
When Kennedy answered the phone, he said, "Mom, Seraphina and I are planning to pick a date to get married. She's already given me a wedding gift."
Kennedy was very shocked. "You, what did you say? She gave you?"
Was Stefan really going to move into Seraphina's house?
Stefan's tone became gentler. "Mom, can you and Dad come to Border Ridge City again? This time to formally discuss the marriage with Seraphina's family, okay?"
Kennedy immediately felt relieved. Stefan was giving her a way out, meaning Seraphina's family. "Stefan, I was so rude last time. I don't know about Seraphina's parents..."
Stefan's tone remained gentle. "Mom, when we go to discuss the marriage this time, we'll apologize. As long as we're sincere, it'll be fine."
Hearing this, Kennedy's nervousness eased a bit, but she was still somewhat uneasy. "Are you sure there won't be any problems? After all, I was indeed quite rude last time. I'm afraid they still hold a grudge. Never mind, let's not think about it now. I'll arrange things with your father, and we'll come to Border Ridge City in a couple of days to formally discuss the marriage."
Stefan smiled and replied, "Okay, Mom. I'll wait for you."
Kennedy asked speculatively, "Why are you two in such a hurry? She's not pregnant, is she?"
"Of course not," Stefan didn't mention Timothy's health. "We just want to become a real married couple as soon as possible."
Kennedy fell silent.
---
Seraphina checked the time. Demetrius would be coming to the company soon, so she temporarily stopped working and drank a cup of coffee to wake herself up.
Jacob knocked and entered the office. "Mr. Kramer will arrive in about half an hour. His flight is delayed."
"Ask Mr. Ellis if we should go directly to the restaurant?"
By the time Robbie and the others arrived, it would probably be lunchtime.
Jacob quickly sent a message to Robbie.
Robbie replied quickly: [Mr. Kramer says that's fine]
"Seraphina, we'll go directly to the restaurant to wait for them."
Seraphina nodded. "Okay."
Jacob quickly arranged for a car.
The two left the office, went downstairs, and headed to the restaurant they had already reserved.
After waiting at the restaurant for about half an hour, Demetrius appeared at the door of the private room.
Demetrius was as composed as always, with his shirt buttons fastened all the way to the top even on this hot day.
He was strict and cold.
He walked over calmly. "Sorry to keep everyone waiting."
Demetrius sat down.
Robbie and Gavin pulled out their chairs and sat down too.
Since everyone was somewhat acquainted, the lunch atmosphere was quite relaxed.
After eating, Seraphina left the private room to go to the restroom. When she came out of the restroom, she encountered a scene.
Seraphina didn't know how she managed it, but despite her substantial build, she nimbly hid behind a wall to eavesdrop.
The woman standing opposite Demetrius had a somewhat familiar back.
Adelaide lifted her delicate face, her eyes full of anger.
Adelaide, knowing this was a public place, lowered her voice but still accused him with grievance, "Mr. Kramer, I've already made it clear to you that our personalities don't match. A forced marriage won't have a good outcome. How can you use your power to force me to marry you?"
After saying this, she glared angrily at Demetrius.
Seraphina, hiding behind the wall, her eyes lit up. Oh my god, who would have thought that the proper-looking Demetrius was actually this kind of person?
What a jerk!
If there's no love, there's no love. Why force someone!
This is so entertaining to watch.
Demetrius lifted his eyelids and saw Seraphina's foot already sticking out from behind the wall. He pretended not to see it and looked away.
Demetrius's cold gaze fell on Adelaide in front of him. "Move aside. Don't block the way."
Adelaide's eyes reddened. She spread her arms and blocked Demetrius again. "Mr. Kramer, please let me go."
Demetrius said flatly, "We have no relationship anymore. If there's something wrong with your head, go to the hospital and see a psychiatrist."
Back then, he thought Adelaide was a smart and beautiful woman. Now he realized he had misjudged her.
Demetrius's cold attitude made the anger in Adelaide's heart even harder to suppress. She bit her lip, her voice trembling slightly, "Since you say we have no relationship! Why are you still threatening the Fairfax family! If you weren't threatening the Fairfax family, my parents wouldn't be forcing me to be with you!"
Seraphina, watching this drama unfold, covered her mouth in shock. Demetrius was too much, actually using threats.
Her half foot moved out a bit more.
It wasn't that she didn't want to leave, but they were blocking the way.
Continue eavesdropping.
