Chapter 390 No Next Time
The doctor confirmed that Sloane only had a minor sprain in her ankle, and Stefan breathed a sigh of relief.
Stefan said, "Ms. Johnson, I'll take care of the medical expenses. Feel free to contact me if you need anything."
The accident didn't happen on a main road, but at a small intersection, so technically both Stefan and Sloane were at fault.
Sloane smiled faintly, "It's fine, just a sprained ankle. It'll heal in a while."
She turned and told her bodyguard to wheel her out of the hospital.
Stefan watched her get into the car, then returned to his own. He drove home and called Seraphina to update her, "Ms. Johnson injured her ankle, but otherwise she's fine."
Seraphina was in the bathroom watching Brandon take a bath when she answered - lately Brandon had been misbehaving during bath time.
Hearing that everything was okay, she responded, "That's good. Have you decided on the location for the new company?"
Stefan poured himself a glass of water, took a sip, then replied, "Yes, it's confirmed. The new company isn't far from Seraphina Enterprises."
Seraphina laughed on the other end, "Nice, you really know how to pick a location."
Stefan's lips curved slightly upward, his voice carrying that distinctive masculine charm, "Being close means we might be able to have lunch together."
Seraphina chuckled softly, "Okay, I have to go - Brandon's taking the chance to play with bubbles."
She quickly hung up, put her phone in her pocket, and stared in disbelief as Brandon smeared several layers of bubbles on his little bald head.
Brandon was humming a tune, wiggling his bare bottom left and right.
Seraphina called out, "Brandon!"
Sloane had returned from the hospital to The Robinson Mansion.
Tommy was sitting on the sofa waiting for Sloane to come back. When he saw her in a wheelchair, his expression changed instantly.
He immediately stood up from the sofa and walked quickly to her, his voice full of concern, "Sloane, what happened? What's going on?"
Sloane smiled faintly, "Tommy, don't worry, it's just a sprained ankle, nothing serious."
Tommy frowned. He knelt down on one knee and looked at Sloane's ankle, "How did you sprain it?"
Despite Tommy's concern, Sloane calmly explained, "There was a small accident. The doctor said it'll be fine after some rest."
Tommy's anxiety eased slightly. He wheeled her back to the room and lifted her from the wheelchair, "I'll help you bathe today."
Sloane wrapped her arms around his neck and said with amusement, "It's just my foot that's injured, not my hands. I can wash myself."
Tommy carried Sloane into the bathroom. Hearing her words, he stopped and looked down at her.
Tommy's tone carried both gentleness and a hint of insistence, "Sloane, don't be stubborn. I'm worried you'll fall in the bathroom. Listen to me today, okay?"
Tommy was handsome, and when he spoke gently and coaxingly like this, he seemed very devoted to her.
Sloane gave up resisting, "Help me waterproof my foot first."
Tommy called the butler Daron, and soon Daron had a servant bring up waterproof tape for the injury.
Tommy carefully wrapped her ankle area, making sure the wound wouldn't get wet.
His movements were gentle, afraid of hurting her.
Sloane watched his focused expression, feeling somewhat conflicted, "You know that Seraphina is Stefan's girlfriend, right?"
"Jane told me," Tommy snorted coldly, "I always thought Stefan was up to something. He joined the company as a special assistant with bad intentions, probably just to learn about company matters."
Sloane didn't contradict Tommy's words - there was no point.
"All wrapped up." Tommy carried Sloane to bathe. This wasn't his first time helping her.
After helping her bathe, he dried her hair and brought her to the vanity.
Sloane needed to apply her skincare products.
"I'll go downstairs to get you some milk." Tommy left the bedroom right after saying this.
Sloane had wanted to tell him to just have a servant bring it up, but Tommy had already left the room.
After going downstairs, Tommy didn't immediately get the milk.
He sat on the sofa, asking the bodyguard standing in front of him, "Tell me, how did Sloane get injured?"
This bodyguard was the one responsible for protecting Sloane today. He respectfully replied, "Mrs. Robinson went shopping and wouldn't let me follow. She was almost hit by Mr. Hensley's car."
As the bodyguard finished speaking, the living room became even quieter. After a few seconds, Tommy laughed coldly. So it was Stefan.
Tommy asked darkly, "What did she buy?"
The bodyguard handed the bag to Tommy. Tommy opened it and looked inside. When he saw the lubricant for sex, he paused for a moment, then his mood improved.
"You can go. Don't let there be a next time."
If there was a next time, the bodyguard could leave for good.
The bodyguard nodded in acknowledgment and left the living room.
Daron handed Tommy the warmed milk.
He carried the glass of milk and the small bag upstairs.
When Sloane saw the bag Tommy was carrying, she froze for a moment, then her expression returned to normal.
Tommy placed both items on the table. From behind Sloane, he bent down and hugged her.
Tommy's hot breath entered her ear, "Sloane, next time let me buy this kind of thing."
He softly said something that made Sloane shy.
Sloane's usually cool and detached nature felt embarrassed for him, "Stop talking nonsense, I don't need your help!"
Tommy laughed freely.
Sloane glared at him, "Stop laughing, I'm going to sleep."
"Okay, okay, I got it," Tommy first handed her the milk to drink. After she finished, he carried her to bed, "You sleep first, I'm going to shower. Good night."
He didn't mention Stefan hitting her.
He picked up his phone and first sent a message declining someone's invitation to go drinking. He put down his phone, kissed her forehead, and went to shower.
