Chapter 389: Left for Seraphina to Solve
Elizabeth pressed down on Timothy's hand as he reached for another condom.
"Only once," she warned.
Timothy narrowed his eyes slightly. "Really can't?"
Elizabeth nodded proudly. "No, otherwise I'm sleeping in the guest room."
Timothy fell silent.
That threat was pretty serious.
He had bought a whole six boxes of condoms—six boxes!—and they'd only used one tonight.
Timothy sighed inwardly. He pulled her tight into his arms. Fine, once it is then.
Elizabeth also snuggled closer to Timothy. "Seraphina told me something tonight—Stefan is planning to set up a branch office here in Border Ridge City to accommodate her. Their wedding probably isn't far off."
Actually, Elizabeth understood what Seraphina was thinking. Seraphina probably wanted Timothy to see her in a wedding dress getting married.
Timothy thought for a moment. "Okay."
As long as Seraphina didn't go to Majestic City to live with Stefan's mom Kennedy, there should be fewer conflicts.
For them, what Seraphina wanted was more important.
"Jane and the others resent our family," Elizabeth said, her eyes flashing coldly. "Back then when all that happened between us adults, the kids were so young. Why would they grow up to resent us? I'm guessing someone has been constantly feeding them these ideas."
"Mr. Robinson, I kind of regret it. Back then, I should have been more generous and let you send Tommy and Jane somewhere else to be raised after Manuel died."
Elizabeth really disliked Emma, and she didn't care much for Tommy and Jane either.
Timothy smiled faintly. "Elizabeth, letting them grow up on their own was my decision. It has nothing to do with you. Plus, they've been living with Cecilia all along. I think Cecilia's influence is in there somewhere."
It was normal that he couldn't get rid of Tommy and Jane back then. To Timothy, Tommy and Jane were his sister Annie's stain, and Timothy wouldn't get involved in their affairs.
"If they let themselves be used, it just means the head on their shoulders is just for decoration," Timothy said coldly. "Cecilia—I can't figure her out."
Although Elizabeth and Timothy suspected that Jane and the others' resentment might be related to Cecilia, they weren't planning to make a move now. They'd let Seraphina try handling it first.
Elizabeth smiled slightly. "Then let's see what Cecilia can accomplish through these kids."
Timothy raised an eyebrow. "You really believe Seraphina can handle all this?"
Elizabeth looked up at Timothy's face, her eyes gentle. "Mr. Robinson, if Seraphina can solve it, only then will you feel at ease, right?"
The next day.
Seraphina Enterprises.
Employees arrived one after another, clocking in on time.
They sat at their desks, turned on their computers, and started their workday.
Opening their emails, they saw the company announcement.
The chairman had changed.
The new chairman was Seraphina.
And the previous chairman, Robbie, was now taking the general manager position.
"The chairman changed?" One employee stared at the email on screen, muttering in confusion.
"Why so sudden? We didn't hear anything about this yesterday." Another employee looked surprised too, quickly starting to discuss it with nearby colleagues.
For the leadership at the top, a change in chairman made them rather uneasy.
After all, every chairman has a different leadership style, and the people they appoint would change too. They just didn't know what this change would bring.
"Seraphina? Could she be a relative of our company's owner?" one employee guessed.
"Possibly."
While everyone was curious, Wilmer stared at the name "Seraphina" on his computer screen, lost in thought.
The name Seraphina made him recall something Jane had mentioned before.
"Could Stefan's girlfriend Dione actually be a relative of Seraphina Enterprises' owner?" Wilmer was secretly shocked. Thinking back to his conversation with Jane at the bar, he felt more and more that this guess might be true.
"If that's really the case, Stefan sure has good taste, finding such an impressive girlfriend." Wilmer couldn't help but sigh.
He wanted to find a wife with that kind of background too.
Wilmer sent Stefan a message to confirm. [Stefan, is your girlfriend the new chairman of Seraphina Enterprises, Seraphina?]
Stefan was busy with setting up the branch office. He glanced at the message and replied briefly, [I know]
Wilmer thought, "Really impressive."
This was huge news, yet Stefan brushed it off so casually.
Stefan drove to Seraphina Enterprises at seven in the evening to pick up Seraphina from work.
Today was Seraphina's first official day. She'd already had two meetings and was very busy.
Robbie sat on the office sofa and smiled. "Seraphina, you should get off work early. Oh, and tomorrow Demetrius is coming back from Majestic City to Border Ridge City to sign the pharmaceutical distribution rights contract with us. I'll personally pick him up from the airport."
When Robbie mentioned Demetrius, Seraphina thought of Demetrius's grandmother Cordelia, that chubby Cordelia. Her eyes lit up with a smile. "Okay, thank you, Mr. Ellis."
Jacob knocked and came in. "You two getting off work? Robbie, hurry up, let's go to your place for a drink."
Seraphina shut down her computer. "Mr. Grant, don't drink too much."
Jacob nodded with a smile. "Don't worry, we both know our limits."
Jacob and Robbie left the company first, while Seraphina waited for Stefan to pick her up.
Stefan was just making a detour to buy flowers when he didn't expect to hit someone.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and quickly got out to check.
Sloane sat on the ground, her face still in shock, her shopping scattered around her.
Stefan didn't expect it to be Sloane. "Ms. Johnson, are you okay? I'll call an ambulance."
He called first, gave the medical staff the location, and after hanging up, crouched down to check on Sloane's condition.
Sloane's heart was still pounding. She'd almost been hit by the car. Once she recovered, she said, "I'm fine."
Good thing he braked quickly.
She tried to stand up, but her legs were weak, and her ankle was hurting.
She was wearing high heels. When she backed away in shock just now, she'd twisted her ankle.
Stefan looked at her ankle. "Ms. Johnson, don't move yet. Your ankle might be sprained. Better to wait for the ambulance to be safe."
Sloane bit her lip. It really hurt. She nodded.
Stefan helped pick up the things scattered on the ground.
Sloane saw what he was holding and felt a moment of embarrassment.
Stefan casually put the items back in the bag.
It was lubricant for sex.
Sloane really felt awkward. She was planning to start trying for a baby with Tommy tonight. She'd bought the lubricant to make things more comfortable for herself, but she never expected this to happen.
Sloane and Stefan were both adults though, so the awkwardness only lasted a moment.
Driver Lanny and a bodyguard hurried over from across the street. When Sloane went shopping, she'd told them to just wait for her on the other side.
They hadn't expected that in the blink of an eye, she'd almost been in a car accident.
Stefan explained the situation to them, and they finally relaxed.
When the ambulance arrived, the medical staff lifted Sloane onto the vehicle.
Although Lanny and the others went along, Stefan, as the person who almost hit her, had to go to the hospital too.
Stefan drove his car and called Seraphina, his voice carrying a hint of apology.
"Seraphina, I almost hit Ms. Johnson with my car. Her ankle is sprained. I'm following them to the hospital to check on her condition."
Seraphina was already standing at the company entrance waiting for him. After hearing this, she asked with some concern, "It's not too serious, is it?"
After all, if Stefan had seriously injured Sloane, he'd be in trouble.
"Doesn't look too serious," Stefan said gently. "I won't be able to take you home tonight."
Seraphina looked at the sky and nodded. "Okay, call me when you're done. I'll have the driver come pick me up."
