Chapter 385: Will Make Him Leave
Wilmer paused for a moment at Jane's sudden invitation over the phone, then smiled, "Ma'am, I have to work tomorrow. You're asking me out for drinks - is there something special going on?"
Jane's laughter came through the phone with a hint of sweetness, "Mr. Finley, no need to be so guarded. My name is Jane Robinson. I just want to talk to you about Stefan, have a drink, and relax. What do you think?"
It suddenly dawned on Wilmer - this was another woman who liked Stefan.
Wilmer chuckled, "Ms. Robinson, Stefan already has a girlfriend. You should stop wasting your time."
Jane laughed softly, her tone becoming even gentler, "I just want to know about the two of them, so I can give up on him. Mr. Finley, please don't tell them about me reaching out to you. Let me keep some dignity. I'll be waiting for you at Sunset Bar."
With that, she hung up.
Wilmer said, "Hello?"
Wilmer looked at his now-dark phone screen and frowned. He was about to take a shower and didn't want to deal with this, but then he remembered her saying she'd wait at Sunset Bar.
"Seriously! Stefan really knows how to cause me trouble!"
In the end, Wilmer grabbed his keys and headed out, driving to Sunset Bar.
After arriving at the bar, he walked in and looked around. He quickly spotted Jane sitting in a corner.
She was wearing an elegant long dress, looking at him with a smile.
Wilmer walked over, sat across from her, and got straight to the point, "Ms. Robinson, since I'm here, let's get to it. What do you want to know?"
Jane first poured a glass of wine for Wilmer.
Wilmer pushed the glass back, "Sorry, I can't drink. I drove here."
Jane called over a server and ordered a soft drink for Wilmer.
She picked up her wine glass and took a light sip of red wine, then smiled bitterly.
Her voice was soft with a hint of complex emotions, "Mr. Finley, I want to know about Seraphina, and how she and Stefan met. Are they deeply in love?"
Wilmer looked confused, "Seraphina? You mean Dione?"
The names didn't match.
Jane nodded, a flash of sadness in her eyes, "Seraphina is her real name."
"What? I really didn't know that," Wilmer didn't plan to say too much. He simply said, "Ms. Robinson, Stefan won't easily leave Dione. You have money and looks - finding someone even better would be easy for you. You can't force feelings."
Jane stared at the red wine in her glass, "Mr. Finley, I just want to know about the two of them. That's all."
Wilmer roughly told her about how Seraphina and Stefan met at school. There were some things Wilmer couldn't say, but some things he could share.
"Stefan once learned to knit a scarf for Dione," Wilmer specifically picked out loving moments between Seraphina and Stefan to share, hoping to make Jane give up, "Back then, seeing him as a guy sitting in the dorm with knitting needles was pretty funny."
The more Wilmer said, the harder it became for Jane to control the twisted expression on her face. Why did Seraphina get to be so happy!
Jane's face looked terrible. Wilmer thought Jane was heartbroken.
"So, Ms. Robinson, you understand, right? You should give up on Stefan. If there's nothing else, I'll head back now." As Wilmer stood up to leave, Jane stopped him.
"Can you stay and drink with me?" When Jane was proud, she could be aggressive, but when she showed a slightly hurt expression, she could make men soften.
Wilmer was someone who felt sorry for women.
He sat back down and said helplessly, "You drink, I'll watch."
Jane smiled faintly. As she drank, she asked, "Mr. Finley, where do you work?"
Of course she knew where Wilmer worked. She had someone do a simple background check on him.
"I work at Seraphina Enterprises. How about you, Ms. Robinson?"
"I'm a fashion designer."
Jane continued drinking, squinting as she thought about Wilmer working at Seraphina Enterprises and knowing Seraphina.
Wilmer could be useful.
She put down her glass, resting her chin on her palm, sizing up Wilmer.
Wilmer's looks were decent enough.
Jane's red lips parted slightly as she asked softly, "Mr. Finley, want to get a room?"
Back when she was abroad, she never lacked boyfriends and occasionally had one-night stands. She just hadn't had time to find men since returning home and being busy breaking into social circles.
She was very open about these things.
Wilmer was stunned for a moment, carefully looking at Jane's beautiful face, "Ms. Robinson, you're drunk, aren't you?"
Jane shook her head and looked up, "No, I haven't even finished this glass. How could I be drunk? There's a saying - to forget the last man, quickly find a new one. Mr. Finley, do you dare?"
Jane's question was very seductive.
Wilmer's heart stirred slightly. It wasn't that he wasn't tempted - he didn't have a girlfriend, and Jane was beautiful.
He smiled, "Ms. Robinson, there's nothing I don't dare to do. Just don't regret it."
Jane laughed softly.
The two left the bar and went to a hotel to get a room.
Jane and Wilmer entered the room and started having sex.
Half an hour later, a flash of disgust appeared in Jane's eyes.
Wilmer looked good but wasn't good in bed.
Having sex with him once, it was over in less than five minutes.
He was really terrible.
Jane got out of bed and went to shower first. When she came out, she leaned close to Wilmer, her red lips touching his, "I'm leaving now. We can keep in touch if you're free."
Jane returned home and went straight to knock on Sloane's bedroom door.
Sloane heard the knock and opened the door, letting her in, "Jane, you just got back from outside?"
Jane nodded, "Yes, I went to have drinks with Wilmer. Wilmer, Stefan, and Seraphina all went to the same university. The three of them know each other."
Jane walked into the room and sat down on the sofa, "Tommy hasn't been home for two days now, right? Where did he go?"
"Out on a boat trip," Sloane smiled and asked, "What did you find out from that guy Wilmer?"
Sloane poured a glass of water, handed it to Jane, and sat on the sofa.
Jane took the glass, took a light sip, and said with cold eyes, "I found out they're very much in love. The only gain is that Wilmer also works at Seraphina Enterprises. He might be useful later."
Sloane nodded. She lowered her eyes and thought for a moment, "I'll call Grandma tomorrow and tell her about Seraphina."
Jane put down the glass, "Sloane, does Stefan have some ulterior motive for working at the Robinson Group?"
Sloane smiled faintly. Mentioning Stefan also made her uncomfortable, "I'll have him leave the company tomorrow."
