Chapter 386 Answer Me!
Sloane and Jane were both upset about Seraphina being alive.
Meanwhile, Seraphina got home from the club around eleven at night.
As soon as she walked in, she saw Elizabeth and Timothy sitting in the living room.
The house had a peaceful, cozy atmosphere.
She really liked this feeling.
"Mom, Dad, I'm home," Seraphina said, walking over to sit on the couch. She told them about running into Jane. "Mom, I saw Jane at the club today."
She briefly explained what happened, saying, "She was really hostile toward me."
Elizabeth and Timothy exchanged glances.
Strange—this hostility seemed to come out of nowhere.
Elizabeth and Timothy kept this thought to themselves for now, planning to discuss it later that night.
"Do you want me to help?" Timothy had originally wanted to let Seraphina handle some people on her own to build experience, but now he was tempted to solve it for her.
Since Jane had it out for Seraphina, he might as well send Jane far away.
The thought flashed through Timothy's mind.
"Dad, I don't need help," Seraphina said with a smile. "Don't worry about it. I'll handle it. She saw me tonight and tried to provoke me, but I didn't give her the chance. She must be furious."
Jane wasn't a kid anymore. It was really weird that the first time they met as adults, Jane showed so much hostility toward Seraphina.
Timothy was still a bit worried, but he decided to let Seraphina handle it for now. If things got bad, he'd step in.
As for the idea of sending Jane "far away," he put that aside for the moment.
Elizabeth turned to look at Seraphina and brought up something else. "Seraphina, you should tell Stefan about your family background. Mr. Ellis says you're ready to take over managing the company. I was going to give you two months, but we can move that up now."
Seraphina nodded. "Okay."
Elizabeth gently patted Seraphina's hand. "Alright, get some rest. You've got a lot to deal with tomorrow."
"Okay, you two get some rest too." Seraphina stood up, waved to Elizabeth and Timothy, then turned and went to her room.
Back in her room, Seraphina took a shower, then picked up her phone and sent Stefan a message.
[Stefan, the necklace for Ms. Hope was bought by my mom at an auction. My real name is Seraphina. My mom is Elizabeth, who runs Seraphina Enterprises, and my dad is the head of the ElizaTimo Group.]
Stefan was still awake. When he saw the message from Seraphina, he was stunned for a moment.
[I was kidnapped when I was little, so my parents have always kept my identity strictly protected.]
He had never imagined Seraphina came from such a powerful background.
Thinking back to what Kennedy had said before, he felt even more guilty, but also somewhat relieved.
At least Kennedy wouldn't use family background as an issue against Seraphina.
Stefan quickly replied, [Seraphina, I'm sorry. Can I apologize to your parents in person?]
He waited nervously for a response.
He was going to wait for her reply, but then ended up just calling her instead.
When the call connected, Stefan's deep, gentle voice reached Seraphina's ears.
"Seraphina, can you give us another chance? I'll talk to my mom. I like you."
Both their ears turned red without them realizing it.
Seraphina cleared her throat lightly and said with a laugh, "Okay, but remember, you're the one who said you'd move into my house."
They'd been together for so long—this was their first real fight.
Stefan held his phone, chuckling quietly on the other end. "Okay. So when are you planning to come to the Hensley family to discuss the wedding?"
Seraphina made a thoughtful expression and answered seriously, "Three days from now. It's a good day."
Stefan's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Then I'll wait for you to come discuss the wedding. How much should the wedding gift be?"
"99,999 dollars," Seraphina said.
Stefan replied, "I agree."
After finishing their business talk, Stefan smiled. "I'll pick you up from work tomorrow night."
Seraphina yawned. "Okay."
They chatted for a bit longer, but Seraphina was really tired, so she said goodnight and hung up.
The next day, as soon as Stefan got to the office, Sloane called him into her office.
Sloane looked at Stefan seriously and said coolly, "Mr. Hensley, you can pack your things and leave the company."
Stefan's handsome face remained calm. Though he didn't know the reason, he nodded. "Okay."
Just as Stefan was about to walk out of the office, Sloane stopped him.
She asked coolly, "Stefan, your girlfriend's name is Seraphina, right? Her mother is Elizabeth, correct?"
Stefan turned around calmly, curious about why Sloane seemed so cold when mentioning Seraphina. He smiled and said, "Yes."
Hearing Stefan's answer, a flash of complex emotion crossed Sloane's eyes. "You can leave now."
Stefan had already connected this to Seraphina's father, Timothy. Last night he'd looked up Timothy's information online and learned a bit—Timothy had once been the next heir to the Robinson Group.
This probably involved some family feud.
Stefan packed up his personal belongings, handed off his work to his assistant, and left the Robinson Group with his things.
After Stefan left, Sloane's eyes turned cold. Jane was right—Seraphina was too happy.
She made a video call to Cecilia.
"Grandma, we already know who Seraphina is. I'm guessing Elizabeth is planning to have Seraphina take over Seraphina Enterprises."
Cecilia, who had been sitting in a rocking chair petting a cat, instantly turned cold. Hearing this news, she accidentally squeezed the cat too hard, making it screech.
Cecilia threw the cat to the floor. "So annoying. Tomorrow I'm making you a stray cat."
She got up from the rocking chair and paced slowly.
"So their daughter Seraphina really is alive. All these years, their family must have been so happy. Sloane, you know what to do, right?" Cecilia asked coldly.
Sloane nodded, her expression serious. "I know."
Cecilia's wrinkled face broke into a smile. "Good girl. I want to see you succeed before I die. Jane and Tommy both trust you and listen to you."
Sloane understood what Cecilia was implying—she could use Tommy and Jane first to go after them. "Okay."
"In that case, you and Tommy should have a child. Otherwise, when something happens to him, you won't be able to control the Robinson Group," Cecilia said ominously.
Sloane was somewhat repulsed by the idea of having a child. "Grandma, I'm Tommy's legal spouse. I have the right to inherit his company shares. Why do I need a child?"
"Sloane! Do you think the Robinson family branches and the company shareholders are just for show? The only reason they haven't removed you yet is because you're managing the company for Tommy. You're smart—you should know why, right?" Cecilia stared at Sloane sternly.
"Answer me!"
Sloane closed her eyes, her eyes reddening slightly. "Grandma, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I know they're afraid of Timothy, so they don't dare make obvious moves right now."
Those people didn't know whether Timothy would help Tommy, so their tactics against Sloane's management were all about slowly applying pressure.
Hearing Sloane's answer, Cecilia smiled with satisfaction and ended the video call.
