Chapter 384: Come Out for a Drink
"Everyone, I'm here! I brought you a new member, let's give her a round of applause!"
Stanley was the playful type. As soon as Seraphina walked into the private room, she heard enthusiastic clapping and felt confetti cannons going off above her head.
When everyone in the room got a clear look at Seraphina, the applause gradually died down.
Everyone looked at each other, wondering about this unfamiliar girl's background.
Someone asked with confusion, "Stanley, who is she?"
They'd never seen this person before.
Stanley spoke in a relaxed tone, smiling as he introduced her, "She's my best friend, Seraphina. She just came back from abroad, so it's normal you don't know her. Seraphina, let's sit here."
A moment of silence.
That was quite a simple introduction.
So simple that they still didn't know whose family she was from.
Just then, a sharp female voice rang out, "What did you say her name was?"
Seraphina turned toward the source of the sharp voice. It was Jane.
She had already spotted Jane in her red dress when she first walked in.
Only then did Stanley notice Jane. He frowned, "Fuck, who invited her?"
Jane stood up, wearing an aggressive expression, and walked up to Seraphina, looking her up and down.
Jane's voice carried a sharp edge, "What did you say your name was? Seraphina?"
Stanley glanced at Jane, his tone displeased, "Jane, did you come to the wrong place today? You're not welcome here."
Trying to give his good friend Seraphina trouble right in front of him—how shameless could she be?
Jane ignored Stanley's attempt to kick her out. Her eyes were filled with hatred as she stared at Seraphina.
She hoped it was just a coincidence in names. How could Stefan's girlfriend be Seraphina?
Jane looked coldly at Stanley, "Shut up first!"
Seraphina wasn't intimidated by Jane's attitude. Instead, she smiled slightly, her tone calm, "My name is Seraphina."
Seeing Seraphina so composed, Stanley's worry eased a bit.
He opened a drink for Seraphina, "Seraphina, ignore her. Let's just have fun."
But Jane wasn't about to let it go. She stared intently at Seraphina, her tone growing sharper, "What's your father's name?"
Everyone in the room focused their attention on Seraphina and Jane.
What was going on?
Seraphina smiled, still unmoved, and said lightly, "You seem very interested in me."
Seeing Seraphina's composed attitude, the anger in Jane's heart burned hotter, and her gaze at Seraphina was as cold and vicious as ice.
Seraphina looked up at her calmly and chuckled, "You seem very interested in my family background. My father's name is Timothy, and my mother's name is Elizabeth."
As soon as she finished speaking.
Jane wanted to hit Seraphina.
Stanley sensed the situation was getting out of control and quickly stood up, positioning himself between Seraphina and Jane.
He looked coldly at Jane, his tone unfriendly, "Ms. Robinson, that's enough. You're not welcome here."
Jane's view of Seraphina was blocked by Stanley.
Jane was enraged by Stanley's attitude and glared at him fiercely, "Get lost, this is between me and Seraphina."
Why her!
Jane had previously mocked Stefan's fat girlfriend from her high horse!
Stanley snorted coldly, "You're the one who should leave. Will you go on your own, or should I call someone?"
Jane gave Stanley an icy look, then turned and left the private room.
From the forceful sound of her high heels, you could tell just how angry she was at that moment.
The people in the room really didn't know what had happened. They were still young and didn't know about the affairs of their parents' generation.
Seraphina remained very calm under these scrutinizing gazes. She came today only to complete the task Timothy had given her.
Timothy and Elizabeth's daughter Seraphina wasn't dead.
As soon as Jane left the private room, she immediately pulled out her phone and called Sloane.
The moment the person on the other end answered, Jane said in a low voice, trying to control her anger, "Sloane, I ran into Seraphina today. She's Stefan's girlfriend! That fat woman from the video last time, remember?"
Sloane immediately stopped typing on her keyboard, "Seraphina? It's her? Mr. Hensley's girlfriend?"
There was a hint of disbelief in Sloane's voice.
"Yes, it's her!" Jane's voice was full of anger too.
Sloane was silent for a moment, thinking about how to handle this situation.
The relationship between Seraphina and Stefan—this information wasn't good news for Sloane.
Fortunately, Stefan hadn't been her assistant for long and didn't know much about the company's affairs, otherwise the consequences would be unthinkable.
"Jane, calm down," Sloane's voice became steady and calm, "I know about this now. Don't be impulsive, Jane. Promise me, okay?"
"Sloane, I got it." Jane coldly hung up the phone and got into her car.
Suddenly, she thought of that man named Wilmer.
Wilmer had just gotten home from work when he received a call from an unknown number. When he answered and heard Jane's voice, he was stunned for a moment.
"Did you dial the wrong number?"
"No, I didn't. I ran into you and Mr. Hensley at a bar a while ago."
Wilmer quickly remembered Jane—beautiful, not someone to mess with, and the woman who almost got into an argument with Stefan.
Wilmer asked with confusion, "Why are you calling me?"
Jane smiled, "Mr. Finley, want to go out for a drink?"
