Chapter 372: Deserved to Be Beaten
Tonight, when Seraphina saw the cut on Stefan's lip, she felt a tiny bit sorry for him. But as soon as she thought about how he got hurt because of Sloane, that feeling instantly disappeared.
Stefan deserved to get hit.
"Dad, just tell me, will you? Did you plant someone inside the Robinson Group?" Seraphina rubbed her hands together, guessing.
Timothy saw the expectant look on Seraphina's face.
He just gave Seraphina a look that said "aren't you clever."
After figuring it out, Seraphina gave a thumbs up and didn't ask any more questions. She brought up another difficult man, "Mom, I'm going to the airport tomorrow to meet Demetrius. Just in case, I've also booked a ticket to Majestic City."
Elizabeth reminded Seraphina to be safe.
On the other side, at the hospital.
Tommy planned to stay at the hospital with Sloane tonight.
His phone had been constantly buzzing with messages since evening.
They were all from friends asking him to hang out.
He had his legs propped up on the table, leisurely replying to those friends.
Sloane, leaning against the headboard, looked up and glanced at Tommy sitting on the sofa. "Tommy, if you have things to do, just go. You don't need to stay here with me."
Tommy shook his head, replying to messages while saying, "You're sick, how could I possibly go out and have fun? Not going. I'm staying here with you tonight."
Sloane paused, then said gently, "I know you care about me, but Tommy, you hit Mr. Hensley today. You should apologize to him."
Tommy's eyebrows shot up instantly. He put down his phone, his tone unhappy, "No way. There's no way I'm apologizing to an assistant."
Sloane heard this but didn't get angry, because she understood Tommy's personality.
She smiled warmly, "Tommy, I'm happy that you get jealous, but Mr. Hensley was just being kind and helping me up, and you misunderstood him. You even hit him. This is your fault."
Tommy laughed dismissively, "Sloane, if I don't apologize, what can he do about it?"
Seeing Sloane frown, he sighed helplessly, his tone softening a bit, "Alright, stop frowning. I didn't mean to, I just felt uncomfortable seeing him holding you. I'll text him an apology, okay?"
Sloane relaxed her frown and smiled. Her delicate face with that smile made Tommy feel much better.
"One more thing, Mr. Hensley is leaving the company at the end of this month, so don't go getting randomly jealous anymore, okay?"
Tommy nodded, in a good mood, "Fine, so he's quitting. Give me his number, I'll send him an apology text right now."
Seeing Tommy willing to back down, Sloane felt much more relaxed.
She smiled and recited Stefan's phone number to Tommy, "Just send him an apology text and we can put this behind us. I'm not the kind of woman who changes her mind easily. You have so many women around you, and I haven't gone and hit them."
She said that last part deliberately sounding jealous.
Tommy quickly typed out a message and sent it to Stefan, then got up from the sofa and walked to the bedside.
Tommy supported himself on the bed with both hands, leaned down and kissed Sloane, saying in a low voice, "Those women around me are just for fun, Sloane. I haven't actually slept with any of them."
Sloane's weak face turned slightly flushed. She seemed to believe him on the surface, but actually didn't quite believe it in her heart.
She didn't believe what he said.
The next morning, Seraphina and her brother Brandon shook hands in solidarity before going to exercise.
After their workout, they had breakfast and each headed out.
Seraphina left carrying a bag.
She wasn't going to the office today, but heading straight to the airport.
She arrived at the airport an hour early.
She was thinking through what she needed to say.
Demetrius, wearing a well-fitted suit with a cold demeanor, had just walked into the VIP lounge when he saw Seraphina walking over with a big smile.
"Mr. Kramer, hello." Her voice was crisp and cheerful.
Demetrius stopped and nodded slightly. They both sat down.
Seraphina had a smile on her lips, her tone sincere, "Mr. Kramer, thank you for giving me time to discuss the drug distribution rights in detail. Seraphina Enterprises sincerely hopes to make this cooperation work."
Demetrius raised an eyebrow slightly, "Since Ms. Penrose is so sincere, I'll listen."
Seraphina smiled slightly and said calmly, "Regarding profit, our company originally proposed a 70-30 split. On this point, we're keeping it unchanged."
A flash of surprise crossed Demetrius's eyes.
He had originally guessed that Seraphina Enterprises would offer to reduce their share as a bargaining chip, but he was wrong.
Demetrius's expression became even colder as he said flatly, "If that's the case, we don't have much to discuss regarding the drug cooperation."
Seraphina said frankly, "Although our profit share is higher, the returns we can provide you are far higher than other companies, and Seraphina Enterprises is united from top to bottom. Our execution is definitely better than the Robinson Group."
Demetrius's deep eyes flashed with meaning as he said coldly, "50-50 profit split."
Seraphina smiled and shook her head.
The two were at a standstill again.
Gavin opened two bottles of water, giving one to Demetrius and handing the other to Seraphina.
Seraphina thanked him.
She took a few small sips of water.
Demetrius opened his laptop and started handling work.
Seraphina was also using her phone to text Robbie about business.
At this moment, Demetrius couldn't quite figure out what Seraphina was thinking.
Seraphina was just a young woman fresh out of college who hadn't really started taking over the company yet. Her thinking shouldn't be too cunning, right?
The auras of Demetrius and Seraphina were subtly competing.
It was a matter of who would give in first.
When it was time to board, Demetrius closed his laptop. Gavin took the computer, and the two left the lounge and headed to the gate to board the plane.
Seraphina smiled, put her phone in her pocket, picked up her backpack, and also went to the gate to board.
Demetrius saw the chubby Seraphina casually walking onto the plane.
He raised his eyebrows slightly, somewhat surprised, but quickly regained his composure.
Seraphina plopped down in the seat next to Demetrius. She raised her hand and smiled, "Mr. Kramer, what a coincidence. We're going the same way. Looks like we have another hour to communicate."
Demetrius looked at Seraphina with deep eyes, "Ms. Penrose, your persistence is impressive, but I don't want to talk anymore."
Seraphina first put away her backpack, then turned to look at the cold-faced Demetrius, "But I want to talk. The partner you've always wanted to work with is Seraphina Enterprises. Tell me, am I right?"
Gavin, sitting in the seat behind Demetrius, immediately looked at Seraphina, secretly amazed.
Seraphina had such sharp instincts.
