Chapter 373 Suspected by Demetrius
After hearing Seraphina's analysis, Demetrius's eyes flickered slightly before returning to their calm state.
He looked at Seraphina coolly, his voice maintaining its usual low and indifferent tone, "Ms. Penrose's instincts are sharp. I do want to work with Seraphina Enterprises, but as you said, it's just 'want' - and wanting means things can change."
Cunning and crafty.
That was Seraphina's assessment of Demetrius.
She leaned in slightly closer and lowered her voice, "Mr. Kramer, you should know that Seraphina Enterprises has more advantages than the Robinson Group in terms of resources, market expansion, and brand influence. In the long run, we can be your most solid partner in the Thalassia market. Don't let emotions cloud your judgment."
"Emotions cloud my judgment?" Demetrius repeated the phrase, the coldness in his expression easing slightly. "You're wrong. This isn't about emotions - it's a tactic to maximize profit. Unfortunately, you haven't fallen into the trap so far."
The plane took off, white clouds and blue sky outside.
A flicker of emotion passed through Seraphina's eyes. "Seraphina Enterprises is looking forward to this partnership with the Kramer Group."
She stopped talking with Demetrius.
Both understood without saying more.
After an hour's flight, the plane landed in Majestic City.
Gavin asked with a smile, "Ms. Penrose, where are you going? Do you need a ride?"
Since Gavin was asking, it meant Demetrius had authorized it.
Seraphina nodded without being polite - she was unfamiliar with the place after all. "Just drop me off at any hotel, thanks."
Gavin opened the car door. Seraphina bent down to get in, looked up at Demetrius sitting inside and smiled, "Mr. Kramer, thank you for the trouble."
Demetrius nodded.
The car left the airport.
Seraphina looked at the scenery outside. On this highway, she could actually see the ocean.
Gavin turned back to look at Seraphina and briefly introduced, "Ms. Penrose, if you have time, you can visit the beach here. Wave Hotel has an ocean view. Would that hotel work for you?"
Seraphina shook her head, "Not one by the ocean, thanks."
Being near the ocean, she wouldn't be able to sleep.
Gavin nodded and booked her a hotel in the city center instead.
The car arrived at the hotel. Seraphina thanked Demetrius and Gavin before getting out.
After checking into the hotel, she first let Timothy and Elizabeth know she was safe, then sent Stefan a message: [Stefan, good news - I'm in Majestic City now]
Stefan didn't see Seraphina's message until after noon.
He quickly went to the conference room to call Seraphina.
The phone was answered quickly. Seraphina's voice came through with a hint of cheerfulness, "Stefan, I've already checked into a hotel in Majestic City."
Stefan asked with a smile, "Why did you suddenly go to Majestic City? Is it for work?"
"Yeah, some work matters to handle," Seraphina answered casually. "But I'll be back in Border Ridge City tomorrow. The day after is my dad's birthday."
Stefan laughed, his tone gentle, "Alright, take care of yourself. What time is your flight tomorrow? I'll pick you up. Remember to send me the flight number."
"Okay."
After chatting for a bit, since Stefan was still at work, they hung up.
Majestic City had abundant seafood, and the streets were lively and bustling.
Seraphina changed into comfortable clothes and went out to explore Majestic City, mainly to buy gifts to bring back for her family.
The shops along the street were full of variety - small stalls selling specialty seafood and handicrafts, and restaurants with unique styles.
Seraphina walked leisurely, stopping from time to time to look at items in the shops. Before she knew it, she had bought many shell and seashell handicrafts.
As she passed a plaza, she stopped. Many elderly women were dancing there.
Seraphina found it interesting. She put down her things and stood next to an elderly, plump woman named Cordelia McDowell, dancing along.
Cordelia glanced at Seraphina and said, "You're just flailing around."
Seraphina moved her hands, moved her feet, twisted her waist, and turned to look at Cordelia with smiling eyes, "Aren't you flailing around too?"
At the very back of the group, both of them were dancing rather randomly.
Hearing this, Cordelia got angry, "I'm warming up first. You young people just don't know how to dance."
There was some dissatisfaction in Cordelia's tone, but Seraphina couldn't help laughing.
Seraphina slowed down her movements, copying Cordelia's gestures - waving her hands and twisting her waist - and said softly, "Then I'll warm up with you, and follow your lead when dancing. Is that okay?"
Seeing Seraphina's good attitude, Cordelia didn't say anything more, just reluctantly nodded, "Then warm up with me first, and learn to dance slowly following me later."
When Cordelia finished warming up and started dancing, Seraphina seriously followed Cordelia's movements.
Seeing Seraphina's serious attitude, Cordelia gradually stopped being picky. She occasionally pointed out how Seraphina should wave her hands or turn.
Seraphina secretly thought Cordelia was really cute - clearly not very good at dancing herself, yet stubborn about it.
While dancing, Cordelia asked, "Girl, from your accent you don't sound like you're from Majestic City. Are you here for tourism? Or work?"
"I'm here on a business trip," Seraphina answered with a smile.
When Demetrius came to the plaza to pick up his grandmother Cordelia, what he saw were two people of similar build at the back of the group, slacking off and dancing randomly.
A moment of silence.
Gavin said in surprise, "How did Ms. Penrose end up with Ms. McDowell?"
Gavin looked at how they were dancing, like two penguins. He couldn't help but laugh, "Looks like Ms. Penrose not only has her act together at work, but she's pretty interesting in life too."
Demetrius's expression was bland.
They waited until Cordelia and Seraphina finished dancing before walking over.
Cordelia saw Demetrius and put on a serious face, though her eyes held a smile, "Demetrius, why are you back?"
"Grandma, came to see you." Demetrius's cold voice held a trace of warmth.
Seraphina was quite surprised to see Demetrius here. When she heard Cordelia call Demetrius's name and heard how Demetrius addressed Cordelia, she suddenly understood.
Seraphina greeted him with a smile, "Mr. Kramer, what a coincidence."
Cordelia was surprised to see that Seraphina and Demetrius knew each other, "You two know each other?"
Demetrius explained flatly, "Business connection. Grandma, let's go home first."
Seraphina coincidentally meeting Cordelia at the plaza - it all seemed too much of a coincidence.
As a seasoned businessman, Demetrius was habitually wary of such "coincidences."
His eyes swept over Seraphina.
Seraphina happened to meet Demetrius's glance.
It seemed she was being suspected by Demetrius?
