Chapter 371 You Actually Got into a Fight
Seraphina got home from work and hadn't even sat down on the couch when Timothy handed her a bag of something.
Timothy smiled, "Take this bag of apples to Stefan for him to try. They're really good."
Seraphina looked at Timothy with a puzzled expression, touching her still-empty stomach. "Dad, let me eat dinner first. I'll take them to him after I eat."
How strange - Timothy was actually taking the initiative to have her bring something to Stefan?
Very strange.
Just as Seraphina was about to put down the bag of fruit and go change clothes before coming down for dinner, Timothy said, "I made you a sandwich. You can eat it in the car to tide you over. Take the fruit over first, but make sure you come home early, okay?"
Before Seraphina could ask any questions, Timothy turned and shouted to Brandon, who was lying on the couch showing off his little belly, "Brandon, go get your sister's sandwich from the dining table!"
Brandon was rubbing his hungry little belly, waiting to eat dinner, when he heard Timothy's order.
Brandon silently rolled over like a turtle flipping.
His butt faced up.
Not going.
Timothy's hand got itchy - Brandon was just lazy.
Timothy went to the dining table himself to get the sandwich, handed it to Seraphina, and urged her to hurry up. "Go quickly, come back quickly."
Seraphina had actually wanted to secretly ask Elizabeth what was going on first.
Timothy was acting a bit strange tonight - had something happened?
But with Timothy rushing her out the door, Seraphina had no choice but to obediently listen and leave.
Fine, she'd take the apples to Stefan first.
After Seraphina left, Elizabeth gave Timothy a sidelong glance. "I already told you not to meddle in their affairs."
Timothy walked to the couch, picked up Brandon who was playing turtle, and turned to Elizabeth with a gentle yet shameless tone, "I'm not meddling. I'm just kindly having Seraphina take a bag of apples to Stefan."
Timothy snorted - bringing a bag of apples was perfect for visiting someone who was sick.
Stefan had been hit, so he needed some fruit as consolation.
Timothy had received the news at noon about Stefan being punched by Tommy this morning for having his arm around Sloane.
If only Tommy hadn't left the office door open when he rushed in to hit someone.
If the door had been closed, Timothy wouldn't have known about it.
"Brandon, you pretended not to hear me just now, didn't you? No meat for you tonight!" Timothy took Brandon to eat vegetarian food.
Elizabeth shook her head and followed them to the dining room.
At that moment, Seraphina was already sitting in the car, tearing open the sandwich wrapper, still wondering why Timothy had suddenly asked her to bring fruit to Stefan.
Whatever, she couldn't figure it out, and Timothy wouldn't harm her anyway.
After giving up on that thought, Seraphina started eating her sandwich while thinking about work matters at the company.
After half an hour, the car arrived at Stefan's rental place.
Stefan came home from work that evening, opened the door, and saw women's shoes on the shoe cabinet - he knew Seraphina was there.
It was too late for him to hide now.
Hearing the door open, Seraphina turned to look at Stefan standing in the doorway. "Stefan, why are you standing there in a daze?"
When she'd arrived with the bag of apples, Stefan wasn't home yet. Luckily she had a key.
Stefan helplessly changed his shoes and walked over.
Stefan stood under the light.
His handsome face showed an injury that didn't belong there.
"What happened to your mouth?" Seraphina stood up and examined Stefan's swollen lip closely. She looked shocked. "You got in a fight?"
Stefan had been caught off guard by Tommy's punch today - not only did his nose bleed a little, his teeth nearly broke.
Fortunately, Stefan's face was now just swollen.
Since Seraphina had already seen him like this, Stefan wasn't going to hide anymore.
He smiled helplessly. "It wasn't a fight. Someone misunderstood and punched me."
"Who misunderstood you?" Seraphina asked unhappily. "How could someone as gentle as you be misunderstood?"
Stefan gently stroked her hair, soothing her. "It was Ms. Johnson's husband. Ms. Johnson has been sick lately. She almost fainted today and grabbed my arm, and I instinctively helped support her, then Tommy saw us."
Stefan honestly explained what happened.
Seraphina frowned. After hearing the whole story, she wasn't sympathetic about Stefan getting hit anymore. She just said, "You two really have some connection - you keep helping her up."
After saying this, Seraphina deliberately rolled her eyes.
Stefan smiled helplessly too. "I called HR today. New people are coming for interviews. I can leave by the end of this month."
Seraphina huffed twice and pointed at the bag of apples on the dining table. "My dad had me bring apples for you. They're over there. I'm leaving."
Stefan grabbed Seraphina's hand and pulled her into a hug. "Stay a bit longer. Let's talk some more?"
He knew Timothy wasn't in good health, and he didn't plan to keep Seraphina too long. Now wasn't the time for romance.
Just as Seraphina was considering whether to stay and chat with Stefan a bit longer, her phone rang.
She saw it was the home number and quickly answered.
"Sister, when are you coming back? I'm waiting for you to come home and tell me a story!" Brandon was wiggling his toes, enjoying Timothy's leg massage service.
Timothy couldn't call Seraphina himself to remind her to come home, so he could only send Brandon to make the call.
Hearing Brandon's sweet, childish voice, Seraphina smiled. "I'm coming home right now."
Brandon smiled brightly. "Sister, I'll wait for you!"
He could hear Seraphina tell a story tonight - how nice.
Seeing that Brandon had already called Seraphina back, Timothy immediately stopped massaging Brandon's legs and hurried over to Elizabeth's side.
After hanging up, Seraphina smiled at Stefan. "Stefan, I have to go home. Brandon's waiting for me to tell him a story."
Stefan hadn't expected Brandon to interrupt their conversation. He smiled and nodded. "Okay, I'll walk you out."
Seraphina didn't let him, and poked his injured lip with her finger.
Stefan endured the pain.
"Serves you right. I'm leaving." Seraphina put her hands behind her back and walked away.
Even though she said not to walk her out, Stefan still grabbed his car keys and followed her out. "I'll drive you."
This time Seraphina nodded.
The car pulled up downstairs at Port City Garden.
Seraphina unbuckled her seatbelt and was about to get out when Stefan called her to wait.
"Dione, don't get out yet." After saying this, Stefan got out of the car himself. He walked to the back seat, opened the door, and bent down to get in.
His kiss landed on Seraphina's forehead.
Seraphina touched her forehead - he told her not to get out just for this?
Although they were boyfriend and girlfriend, they had never been intimate.
Stefan got out of the car and let Seraphina out.
He walked her to the front door.
"Good night."
"Good night. This time I want to watch you leave." Seraphina said very seriously.
Stefan smiled gently. "Okay."
About ten minutes after Stefan left, Seraphina went back downstairs. The car picking her up was already waiting below.
She returned to the castle and walked into the living room.
Elizabeth was watching TV, Timothy was keeping Elizabeth company, and Brandon was rolling around on a mat on the floor.
"I'm back." Seraphina walked to the couch, sat down next to Timothy, and turned to stare at Timothy's calm face. "Dad, don't you have something to tell me?"
Timothy raised an eyebrow. "No."
Seraphina laughed ingratiatingly a couple times. "Dad, just tell me. Did you know about Stefan getting hit? Is that why you deliberately had me take apples to see him?"
Hearing Seraphina's laughter, Elizabeth shook her head helplessly.
Timothy, Seraphina, and Brandon - all three of them sometimes had playful personalities.
