Chapter 370 Sloane Being Held by Someone
Seraphina frowned slightly.
Robbie tapped the proposal on the desk. "About the drug distribution rights - we thought we had it in the bag, but now Demetrius has chosen to meet with Ms. Johnson from the Robinson Group. This is really bad for us."
Although their plan took seventy percent of the profits, the Kramer Group's thirty percent share would still be substantial.
He just didn't know what exactly in the Robinson Group's proposal had attracted Demetrius.
Seraphina stayed calm and composed. "Mr. Ellis, I'd like to arrange a meeting with Mr. Kramer."
Robbie nodded. He picked up his phone and found Demetrius's contact number.
He handed the phone to Seraphina. "Use my phone to call him."
Seraphina took the phone. Instead of dialing immediately, she first tried to figure out Demetrius's thinking.
Any negotiation required guessing the other party's intentions first.
At that moment, Demetrius was in his car heading to the Robinson Group when he received Robbie's call.
He wasn't surprised at all.
Demetrius answered the phone, his voice steady. "Mr. Ellis, what can I do for you?"
Seraphina said briefly, "Mr. Kramer, this is Seraphina. Could you spare some time to meet?"
Demetrius paused when he suddenly heard Seraphina's soft voice.
Demetrius leaned back in his seat, his gaze calm. "Hello, Ms. Penrose. A meeting won't be necessary - I'm leaving for Majestic City tomorrow."
Demetrius's grandmother's family was from Majestic City, but the Kramer family was based overseas in Solstice.
Besides business, Demetrius's trip back home included visiting relatives in Majestic City.
Seraphina smiled lightly. Though a bit disappointed, she didn't show it. "Mr. Kramer, would you mind telling me which flight you're taking to Majestic City tomorrow?"
Demetrius said casually, his eyes calm, "The ten o'clock flight tomorrow."
Seraphina smiled. "Thank you, Mr. Kramer. I'll meet you at the airport. I hope you can give me five minutes before boarding."
The two hung up.
On the other end, just as Demetrius ended the call, the car stopped at the Robinson Group.
Gavin got out and opened the door.
Stefan saw Demetrius arrive and respectfully led him into the company.
The group entered the elevator.
There were only three people in the elevator - Stefan, Gavin, and Demetrius.
Demetrius glanced at Stefan. "The heir of the Hensley family from Majestic City is actually working as a mere assistant at the Robinson Group."
Stefan maintained a respectful attitude and smiled faintly. "I'm honored that you recognize me."
The Hensley family in Majestic City could at best be considered halfway to being a first-tier family.
Demetrius recalled seeing Stefan and Seraphina holding hands in the park that day.
Demetrius gave Stefan a meaningful look.
One hiding their identity as an assistant at Seraphina Enterprises, the other hiding their identity as a special assistant at the Robinson Group.
He wondered if this couple, Stefan and Seraphina, knew each other's true identities.
But these matters had nothing to do with Demetrius.
The elevator fell silent until it chimed, arriving directly at the top floor office.
"Mr. Kramer, please."
Sloane stood up to greet Demetrius as he entered the office, a proper smile on her face. "Mr. Kramer, thank you for giving the Robinson Group this opportunity."
Since Sloane still coughed occasionally, the discussion about the proposal was left to Stefan and Demetrius.
Stefan knew the proposal's content best.
Sloane would occasionally add some decisions.
Though Demetrius appeared cold and serious, he sometimes got curious.
Like now - watching Stefan and Sloane work well together in negotiating with him, he thought of how Seraphina had also negotiated for distribution rights for Seraphina Enterprises yesterday.
This couple, Stefan and Seraphina, seemed to be on opposite sides.
Demetrius picked up his teacup and moistened his throat. "The Robinson Group's sales channels are actually quite weak."
Sloane nodded, admitting this. "Mr. Kramer, this is only temporary. We'll work hard to develop our channels. The Robinson Group is only taking ten percent of the profits this time to earn an opportunity."
Stefan placed the channel development plan in front of Demetrius. "Mr. Kramer, the Robinson Group will give it our all - not only increasing investment in sales channels but also putting major effort into market promotion."
Both sides talked for about two hours, and Demetrius got a sense of the final profits the Robinson Group could bring him.
After the negotiation ended, Demetrius stood up, straightened his clothes, and prepared to leave.
Sloane invited Demetrius to lunch, but he declined, saying he had other matters.
Stefan escorted Demetrius downstairs first. When Stefan returned upstairs and entered Sloane's office, he saw her looking somewhat worried.
Sloane looked up at Stefan. "Mr. Hensley, what do you think Mr. Kramer means? He hasn't mentioned signing a contract yet."
Stefan thought about the outside world's assessment of Demetrius's business tactics. "We can only wait and see."
Sloane knew they could only wait.
She rubbed her temples and stood up. After days of recurring fever, not being able to eat, and rushing to finish the proposal, her head suddenly felt dizzy.
Just as she lost her balance, she reached out and grabbed Stefan's arm.
Stefan instinctively caught her.
At that moment, someone pushed the door open without knocking.
Tommy had just entered when he saw his wife Sloane being held by someone, and anger surged in his heart.
He'd heard from Jane that Sloane was sick, so he'd specially come to the company today to see her and have lunch together.
He never expected to walk into the office and see Sloane in someone's arms.
Without thinking, Tommy walked over and punched Stefan in the face.
Stefan was caught off guard by the punch and let go of Sloane.
Sloane couldn't stand steady. Her face turned very pale as she sat back down on the sofa. "Tommy, stop it!"
She held her dizzy head, really not expecting Tommy to suddenly hit someone.
Tommy glared at Stefan angrily, his eyes cold. "What are you two trying to do, hugging each other in the office?"
Stefan wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and explained calmly, "Ms. Johnson just lost her balance. I was only helping her up."
Only then did Tommy notice Sloane's weak and uncomfortable expression.
The anger in Tommy's heart instantly died down. He quickly crouched in front of Sloane. "Sloane, I'll take you to the hospital."
Sloane nodded weakly. "Okay."
Tommy picked up Sloane. He glared at Stefan once more before walking out of the office.
Stefan rubbed his mouth, furrowed his brow, and took a deep breath.
