Chapter 273 Want to Form a Marriage Alliance
Delilah got into the elevator and saw a few other people inside, so she didn't immediately approach Timothy.
She was curious to see where he was going at the hospital instead of visiting Sarah.
The other people in the elevator gradually got off on different floors.
Now only Delilah and Timothy were left in the elevator.
The elevator reached the twelfth floor.
Timothy got out.
Delilah followed him out and saw him walk into a hospital room.
There were bodyguards stationed outside the room. Delilah didn't dare get too close openly, so she pretended to be looking for another room.
As she passed by the room Timothy had just entered, a nurse happened to come out.
She pretended to look inside curiously and saw Timothy kissing Elizabeth.
Delilah was shocked. She wanted to rush in right then and call Timothy a cheating scumbag, but she managed to control herself.
Timothy saw that Elizabeth had been handling work matters again while he was away.
He put down the bag he was carrying, pulled up a chair and sat by her bed. "Rest well, don't wear yourself out."
Meanwhile, Delilah, who was pretending to look for a room in the hallway, didn't stay long to avoid suspicion and left the twelfth floor.
When the elevator doors closed, Delilah took a deep breath. She felt angry.
If Sarah knew she was being cheated on, who knows how heartbroken she'd be.
Thinking of her friend Sarah, Delilah didn't know how to tell her about this.
When Sarah saw Delilah return, she asked in surprise, "Delilah, why did you come back?"
Delilah pulled up a chair and sat down, her face complicated. "I'm staying at the hospital with you today."
She decided to wait until Sarah's injuries healed before telling her about this upsetting matter.
Sarah looked at Delilah with confusion. "Did something happen?"
Delilah shook her head. "Nothing, you're overthinking it."
Sarah asked, "Really?"
"I just felt bad that you're alone in the hospital," Delilah explained with a cold snort.
Mabel rushed into the hospital room.
The moment she saw Elizabeth, Mabel's heart was finally half at ease.
Mabel had only learned the day before yesterday that Elizabeth was injured in Solstice, so she quickly flew from Border Ridge City to Solstice to see her.
She came straight to the hospital right after getting off the plane.
"Elizabeth."
Mabel saw that although Elizabeth's complexion still looked a bit rough, her mental state was good, so she breathed a sigh of relief.
Elizabeth smiled. "Why did you come? I told you it wasn't serious, I just need some time to recover."
Mabel sat down, catching her breath slightly. "I still wanted to see for myself."
She turned to greet Timothy. "Mr. Robinson."
Timothy nodded.
Mabel's gaze returned to Elizabeth. "How are you feeling now, Elizabeth? Does it hurt?"
Elizabeth shook her head gently. "I'm fine, it doesn't hurt much. I'm already much better. The doctor said as long as I rest properly, I'll recover well. Did you come straight here from the airport?"
Mabel nodded. "Yes."
Elizabeth looked at Timothy.
Timothy understood and called Joe, asking Joe to come pick up Mabel and take her home to rest.
When Joe arrived, Mabel left with him first. Now that she'd seen with her own eyes that Elizabeth was okay, Mabel felt relieved.
The car drove for about an hour before reaching where Timothy lived.
"Mr. Robinson lives here?" Mabel looked around curiously and found the surroundings very peaceful.
"Yes, the BOSS wants quiet and doesn't want to be disturbed," Joe explained.
Joe took Mabel to the guest room and then left.
Mabel's luggage was already in the room. Just as she was about to unpack and take a shower, her phone rang.
The caller ID showed an unknown number, but Mabel answered anyway.
"Ms. Simpson, I'm Alfonso's mother." Maya's stern voice came from the other end.
"Ms. Coleman." Mabel had a vague feeling she knew what Maya was calling about.
"Ms. Simpson, I won't beat around the bush. You and Alfonso aren't right for each other," Maya's voice remained stern. "Alfonso needs a woman who can support him as an equal partner. Clearly, you're not that person. Besides, the Simpson family is beneath the Carr family."
Mabel held her phone, listening to Maya's stern voice on the other end, her heart sinking slightly.
She had expected this day would come.
"Ms. Coleman, I understand," Mabel's tone was calm, trying to remain polite. "I won't be with Alfonso."
Hearing this, Maya's voice softened slightly. "Good. Since you say so, I'll trust you for now. All these years, it's been Sophia accompanying Alfonso at work abroad. I don't want my son to let Sophia down."
Mabel listened silently. "I know."
After hanging up, Mabel's hands trembled slightly.
She sat on the edge of the bed, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself.
She pressed her hand to her chest, feeling a hint of pain.
Mabel opened her luggage, took out her pajamas, walked into the bathroom, and turned on the shower, letting the warm water wash over her body.
She tried to calm herself down.
So Sophia had been with him working abroad all along.
Mabel understood Alfonso's personality to some extent - he wouldn't let her go easily.
She turned off the water, put on her pajamas, walked out of the bathroom, picked up her phone and called Timothy, waiting for him to answer.
She said calmly, "Mr. Robinson, I want to find a man who's not afraid of Alfonso for an arranged marriage."
On the other end, Timothy heard Mabel's words and frowned slightly, but quickly regained his composure.
"An arranged marriage? Why? Because of Alfonso?" Timothy's deep voice carried a serious tone.
Mabel's eyes were determined. "Mr. Robinson, I want an arranged marriage. I don't want any connection with Alfonso. I know this isn't the only solution."
"Since you know it's not the only solution, why choose an arranged marriage? I can make sure Alfonso can't find you. You can continue living your own life," Timothy said flatly. "You need to think this through."
"Mr. Robinson, I've thought it through very clearly. Even if he can't find me, he'll keep looking." Since Mabel had promised Maya, she would choose to cut off any feelings for Alfonso.
Timothy didn't agree immediately. "Think about it for a few more days."
He hung up first.
Elizabeth looked at Timothy. "What happened with Mabel?"
Timothy told Elizabeth about Mabel's idea. "She wants an arranged marriage and doesn't want any connection with Alfonso."
"What?" Elizabeth frowned. "Even if she doesn't want any connection, she doesn't need to sacrifice herself with an arranged marriage, right? Did something happen?"
Timothy didn't want Elizabeth to worry too much. "Mabel's not a child. All we can do is respect her choice."
Everyone has their own thoughts. They could help, but they couldn't force others to make decisions.
Elizabeth understood what Timothy meant, but she frowned. "What exactly did Alfonso do? When Mabel comes tomorrow, I'll ask her."
