Chapter 272 Are You Sick?
In the hospital corridor, Jacob waited anxiously.
He kept glancing toward the emergency room.
Just then, Timothy and Joe hurried over from the end of the hospital corridor.
Timothy's face was dark and cold. "Where's Elizabeth?"
Before Jacob could answer, Raina, standing nearby, jumped in first. "BOSS, Sarah has been moved to a regular ward."
Jacob looked at Raina in surprise. "No, Ms. Penrose is still in the emergency room."
What's wrong with Raina?
Timothy frowned and glanced at Raina, then looked at Jacob. "Where is Elizabeth hurt? What exactly happened?"
Jacob's expression wasn't good either. "I don't know all the details yet. I only know that Ms. Penrose was knocked down in the bathroom at the ElizaTimo Group. I haven't had time to find out exactly what happened."
At that moment, the emergency room door opened and the doctor came out. Timothy and Jacob immediately went up to him.
The doctor took off his mask and said seriously, "Ms. Penrose is out of danger now. She's been moved to the ICU. Her rib almost pierced her lung. She needs to be observed in the ICU for a few days to make sure there are no complications like infection or bleeding. Full recovery after surgery may take more than six weeks."
After the doctor finished.
A flash of anger and worry crossed Timothy's eyes. He turned to Joe and ordered, "Go find out what happened."
Joe nodded.
Jacob pointed at Raina and the others. "Ask them, they should know."
Raina and her companion were even more anxious now.
Besides, Raina and Skylar were confused. Wasn't Sarah Timothy's wife?
Why was Timothy concerned about someone else instead?
Timothy and Jacob went to the ICU.
Joe asked Raina and the others to come talk.
Timothy stood at the ICU door. Through the glass window, he saw Elizabeth lying quietly in the hospital bed. His face darkened and his heart ached.
Before long, Joe came back and reported in a low voice, "BOSS, I've found out what happened. Here's what occurred..."
After listening, Timothy's eyes turned cold. "Call the police."
Joe nodded. "I've already called the police. Intentional assault."
The next day.
Elizabeth's fingers moved slightly. Timothy, who hadn't rested all night, noticed immediately.
He held her hand, his voice gentle and low. "Elizabeth, you're awake."
Elizabeth slowly opened her eyes and saw Timothy sitting by the bed. She moved slightly, felt the pain in her body, and frowned.
Timothy quickly explained, "Don't move. Rest and heal. In about six weeks, you'll be better. Don't worry."
A nurse walked into the room, checked Elizabeth's condition, and said with a smile, "The patient's condition is stable, but she needs continued observation. Please pay attention, family member."
Timothy already knew about Elizabeth's condition, but he still thanked the nurse.
Elizabeth stayed in the ICU for three days before finally being moved out.
Meanwhile.
When Robbie, far away in Border Ridge City, learned about Elizabeth's accident, he immediately tried to keep the news quiet.
He adjusted recent meeting schedules and announced that Elizabeth had extended her business trip.
He was worried that during Elizabeth's absence, those people from the Sherman family would cause trouble.
After Elizabeth was moved to a regular room, her condition gradually improved over the next few days.
Timothy stayed by her side every day.
When Elizabeth felt better, she finally got Timothy to agree to let her handle work matters.
Although she needed to rest, there were many company issues that had to be dealt with.
She sat half-propped up in bed, looking at documents on her tablet.
Timothy helplessly took the tablet away. "Elizabeth, stop looking at documents. Rest well. I'll help you handle these things later, okay?"
Elizabeth smiled. "Okay."
During Elizabeth's recovery, Robbie in Border Ridge City was also extremely busy.
He not only had to handle the company's daily affairs but also deal with various schemes from the Sherman family.
Seeing that Elizabeth hadn't been at the company for so long, the Sherman family was already getting restless.
Robbie quickly called Elizabeth to report the situation.
Elizabeth nodded. "Thank you for your hard work. I'll get better as soon as possible and return to the company."
Robbie said steadily, "Chairwoman Penrose, don't worry. Take care of yourself. Although those people from the Sherman family are making some moves, we've taken precautions."
While Elizabeth was on the phone with Robbie, Timothy left the room to get something.
At that moment, in a regular ward.
Delilah and several colleagues were visiting Sarah in her room.
"Elizabeth, where's your husband? Why isn't anyone taking care of you? How could he put you in a shared room?"
Delilah frowned. Was Timothy really that cheap? Couldn't he even spend this little money?
Sarah's right hand was broken, so she could only eat with her left hand, which she wasn't used to. Hearing Delilah's words, she was too tired to explain.
Delilah took Sarah's bowl and spoon, continuing with some dissatisfaction, "Let me feed you. This is too much. No matter how busy he is, he shouldn't treat you like this. You're hurt so badly."
Sarah held her forehead with her good hand. "It's not him, it's just you."
Delilah glanced at her. "You always know what to say."
Delilah and the others stayed in the room for about ten minutes before leaving, since there was another patient in the room who needed rest.
"I really didn't expect the BOSS to be so frugal, putting Sarah in a regular ward."
"Look, isn't that the BOSS? He must be coming to see Sarah." One of the colleagues pointed ahead and said quietly.
Delilah looked in the direction she was pointing. It really was Timothy, but he seemed to be going the wrong way.
"You guys go back first. I have something to do." After saying this, Delilah hurried to catch up with Timothy.
Just as the elevator doors were closing, Delilah made it. She rushed into the elevator.
