Chapter 131: Call Me Husband

Chapter 131 Call Me Husband

Today Yosef went to the Johnson Group to discuss business.

Armando talked with Yosef in the office because it involved R&D secrets.

Elizabeth sat outside on the sofa waiting.

She felt a bit drowsy, propped her elbow on the armrest and closed her eyes.

Armando opened the office door. He adjusted his cufflinks and suddenly paused when he looked up.

Elizabeth was sitting on the sofa with her head propped up, sleeping. Today she wore a white shirt with a black skirt, her long legs pressed together.

Armando pressed his thin lips together. He walked to Tom's desk and gestured toward the jacket with his slender fingers.

Tom took off his jacket and handed it to Armando, looking confused.

When he saw Armando walk to the sofa with the jacket and gently cover Elizabeth's legs with it, Tom was shocked for a moment.

After covering Elizabeth with the jacket, Armando went to Tom's area to get some documents and said, "The phone inside isn't working."

Armando took the documents and walked back into the office.

Tom glanced at Elizabeth, then looked away. He sent an email to the general affairs department to report the phone problem.

Yosef and Armando talked inside for an hour before finishing.

After the business was done, Yosef talked to Armando about personal matters. "Your sister Mindy has been causing me some trouble lately."

"Sorry, I'll talk to her."

The two walked out of the office one after another.

Yosef saw that Elizabeth had actually fallen asleep sitting there. He walked over with amusement.

Yosef reached out his finger and tapped Elizabeth's head.

Armando's eyes were cool and detached. He suddenly wanted a cigarette.

Elizabeth woke up with a start. She opened her eyes to see Yosef smiling in a rather mischievous way. She rubbed her forehead. "Sorry, are you done?"

Yosef nodded. "Yes, let's go have lunch."

Elizabeth then noticed a men's jacket covering her legs. She picked up the jacket, stood up, and looked past Armando to Tom. "Mr. Davis, is this your jacket?"

Tom took it back with a smile.

"Thank you."

After thanking him, Elizabeth followed Yosef into the elevator.

Yosef put his hands in his pockets and moved his neck. "Every time I talk business with Armando, my brain has to run at full speed. Next time TechStrong should never work with the Johnson Group again."

Elizabeth gave a faint response.

Next time it wouldn't have anything to do with her anyway.

The two went downstairs, walked out of the Johnson Group, and got in the car.

"Let's have Western food for lunch, okay?" Yosef suggested. He took out his phone. "Let's call Mabel to join us."

"Sure," Elizabeth raised her eyebrows and asked casually, "Have you two been hanging out a lot lately?"

Yosef sent a message to Mabel and responded with a sound.

Thinking of Mabel made him want to smile.

Mabel was fun.

Elizabeth glanced at Yosef and fell into thought.

They arrived at the Western restaurant. Mabel hadn't arrived yet.

About ten minutes later, the youthful and energetic Mabel hurried over.

"Elizabeth, have you been waiting long?" When Mabel arrived, she sat next to Elizabeth. "There was a bit of traffic today, got stuck."

"It's fine, we haven't been waiting long," Elizabeth said with a smile.

The waiter came over and the three of them ordered.

"Yosef, where should we go this week? Don't go hiking. Last time we went hiking, I was exhausted when I got home." Mabel really thought Yosef was a great travel buddy - both safe and fun to be with.

Elizabeth didn't know if she was overthinking, but her gaze fell on Mabel, then casually on Yosef.

The three had lunch. Yosef went back to the office first, and Elizabeth got in Mabel's car.

All the way, six out of every ten sentences from Mabel mentioned Yosef.

Elizabeth saw she was talking happily and didn't interrupt.

"Elizabeth, last time when Yosef and I went hiking, halfway up a small snake suddenly appeared and nearly scared me to death. I jumped right onto Yosef."

Mabel suddenly laughed. "Yosef's reaction was quick too - he just picked me up."

In the evening, after eating her fill, Elizabeth didn't want to go out for a walk.

Timothy had no choice but to open his laptop and sit in the living room, working while keeping Elizabeth company.

Elizabeth hugged a pillow. The more she thought about today's events, the more something felt off. With a serious face, she called out to Timothy. "Mr. Robinson, I have a question for you."

"Go ahead." Timothy replied to emails without turning his head, multitasking.

Seeing Timothy didn't turn to look at her, Elizabeth put down the pillow, reached over, and forcefully turned Timothy's face toward her. "I really have something important."

Timothy looked at her helplessly. "Speak, I'm listening."

Elizabeth organized her words and asked Timothy.

"If a man often takes a woman out to have fun, and that woman mentions that man in six out of every ten sentences, do you think they're just really good friends or is it that kind of romantic interest between a man and woman?"

Timothy raised his eyebrows. "How old are they?"

Elizabeth was puzzled by this question. "In their twenties."

"In their twenties, they're not kids anymore."

After saying this, Timothy took Elizabeth's hand off his face and kissed her fingers.

He asked, "Elizabeth, who are this man and woman you're talking about?"

Elizabeth coughed and answered honestly. "Mabel and Yosef."

Timothy raised his eyebrows, not expecting that. "They're both adults. We can't just interfere with their relationship matters. Worst case scenario, Mabel will come to me for help."

Hearing Timothy say this, Elizabeth felt somewhat relieved.

Besides, these were all just her random guesses. Nothing had even happened yet.

Timothy stood up and walked into the study. When he came out, he handed Elizabeth a stack of documents.

"Elizabeth, these are suitable engagement venues in Border Ridge City and abroad. Take a look and see which one you want to choose."

Timothy reached out his long arm and pulled Elizabeth into his embrace. "Originally I only had Joe prepare venues in Border Ridge City, but now I've added international options too."

Elizabeth looked at the documents in her hands, her feelings complicated for a moment.

Happy, yes.

Timothy lowered his head and kissed Elizabeth, who happened to look up at him.

Timothy's voice was low and lazy as he said, "Elizabeth, why don't you try calling me 'husband' first?"
