Chapter 132 Ron Informs
Elizabeth called Mabel to arrange a meeting for tomorrow at noon.
"Mabel, you know Border Ridge City well. I'm coming back to Faith Residence tomorrow at noon to see you. I want to discuss engagement venues with you."
Mabel immediately squealed with delight, "Elizabeth, you and Mr. Robinson are getting engaged??"
Mabel suddenly pulled her leg back. Yosef was helping her apply medicine to her calf.
Yosef had taken Mabel out tonight, but unexpectedly, Mabel had a small accident.
"Yes, we're preparing for the engagement," Elizabeth flipped through the engagement venue materials Timothy had given her. She liked this style. "In a while, Timothy plans to take me to Border Ridge City to have a look."
Timothy mainly wanted to take her to meet people from the Robinson family first.
"I probably won't be able to attend your engagement party. What a shame," Mabel said regretfully. "Whenever I go back to Border Ridge City, my parents come to bother me."
Elizabeth looked up at Timothy, asking with her eyes.
Timothy had his arm around Elizabeth and naturally heard Mabel's excited voice.
"If she wants to come back, let her," Timothy said. "With me here, they won't dare come looking for her."
Elizabeth smiled, gave Timothy an encouraging look of love, then relayed Timothy's words to Mabel.
Mabel nodded happily, "Great, I'll go back to Border Ridge City with you guys then!"
After Elizabeth finished talking with Mabel, she hung up the phone.
Yosef screwed the cap back on the ointment and stared at Mabel. "You're going back to Border Ridge City?"
For some reason, he felt vaguely irritated.
Mabel's smile was bright. "Elizabeth and Mr. Robinson are getting engaged. Of course I have to go to their engagement party. Don't worry, I'll come back to Silverlight City."
Yosef's tone was calm. "Don't get your calf wet for the next few days. When you shower, remember to use a waterproof bandage."
It was already very late, so it wasn't convenient for him to stay any longer.
Mabel nodded and waved at him.
She seemed pretty heartless.
Yosef went downstairs and bent down to get into his car.
He pulled out a cigarette from the pack, his sharp eyes hidden in the darkness of the car.
He felt restless.
He'd never felt this way before.
Even when he suddenly had to go see a urologist the other day, he hadn't felt this unsettled.
The next morning.
On his way to work, Timothy called Manuel. "Dad, I'm bringing my fiancée back to see you soon. She's timid, so if you don't want to meet her, I just won't bring her to see you."
Manuel, threatened by Timothy's phone call first thing in the morning, almost laughed in anger. "If you've got the guts, don't come see me. The Robinson family won't recognize her."
Timothy chuckled. "She's my wife. As long as I recognize her, that's enough. If the Robinson family doesn't recognize her, fine. I can establish my own branch, create a new family registry. I'll be the first generation."
Manuel fell silent.
Manuel angrily hung up the phone.
Sam stood nearby listening to Manuel curse at Timothy.
After Manuel finished cursing, he turned to ask Sam, "Sam, isn't Emma's due date coming up soon?"
"Around this time."
As soon as Sam finished speaking, he heard Manuel say, "Secretly arrange a private plane with doctors and nurses to bring Emma to Border Ridge City."
Since Timothy was bringing Elizabeth, perfect—everyone could meet at once.
Emma, who was painting, received a call from Sam. After hearing the purpose of Sam's call, she smiled.
"Okay, thank you. I'll have someone pack today, and I can go to Border Ridge City tomorrow."
Sherry specifically found several professionals to analyze the materials Samuel had given her.
The professionals' analysis was that this artificial intelligence industry required upfront investment in research, but if done well, the return rate in the later stages would be very high.
Sherry went with Samuel to see the company he was investing in. After thinking it over, she decided to be the guarantor.
After all, Samuel had agreed to give her fifteen percent of the shares.
She and Samuel went to that private lending institution. Although she was becoming a guarantor, she still needed to carefully review the contract.
Max gave Samuel the drafted contract. "I negotiated with the boss to get the interest rate only 0.1 higher than the bank. Take a look, and if there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask."
Samuel carefully reviewed the terms—no problems. Sherry also looked it over; this contract was quite reasonable.
"Mr. Hill, thank you. No problems."
Samuel signed and put his fingerprint. Sherry also signed and put her fingerprint in the guarantor section.
Everything went smoothly.
Samuel got the funds and was going to use them to pay back money from his previous failed investment—something Sherry didn't know about.
After Max saw them out, he called Elizabeth to tell her about this.
Elizabeth hung up with a smile.
Next was figuring out how to get that phone from Sherry.
Elizabeth contacted Verity, the nanny who had been arranged to work for Sloane.
Verity was now at Emerald Park, not Imperial Garden.
Elizabeth hadn't expected Armando to actually move back to Emerald Park.
Elizabeth heard this news without any reaction.
Verity sent Elizabeth a message.
There was a safe in Sherry's bedroom, and the phone might be inside.
This was just Elizabeth's guess.
Meanwhile, Sherry had Samuel take her to the restaurant where Ron worked.
Samuel looked at Sherry but didn't ask much. Instead, he brought up family. "Uncle has been wanting you to come home lately."
The uncle Samuel mentioned was Sherry's father, Gerald.
Because of the sudden dissolution of Armando and Sherry's marriage, the Scott family had been trying to get Sherry to come home and explain.
But Sherry hadn't gone back.
Sherry frowned, pressed her lips together, and said, "I'll go home in a while."
The car arrived at the restaurant where Ron worked—Charming Orchid Restaurant.
Ron was serving dishes to other tables when a colleague came to tell him that a customer in private room number five wanted to see him.
He walked into the room puzzled, but when he saw it was someone from the Scott family, he frowned and turned to leave.
"Wait, Mr. Howard, let's talk." Sherry stopped Ron. She looked at Samuel. "Samuel, I want to talk to Mr. Howard alone."
Samuel smiled. "I'll wait outside. Call me if you need anything."
Ron's face was cold and grim. "I have nothing to talk about with Ms. Scott. Elizabeth has nothing to do with the Howard family anymore."
Sherry smiled. "Mr. Howard, this card has thirty million dollars in it."
She placed a bank card on the table.
Ron closed the door and turned around. He looked at Sherry, his expression darkening. "What do you want me to do?"
"Very simple. Just help me arrange to meet Elizabeth."
Sherry wanted that person to kidnap Elizabeth, but the person had said that the bodyguards around Elizabeth were hard to distract.
Now here was someone ready-made.
"Mr. Howard must really need money right now."
Ron gave an ambiguous sneer. "Fine. Where should we meet?"
Seeing Ron agree, Sherry smiled. "Glistening Lake. Once you've set the time, just call this number."
The number Sherry gave Ron was that person's number—Tate's number.
She still didn't know that Tate had already been captured by Timothy's people.
Ron glanced at Sherry and took the bank card from the table.
After Ron left the private room, he didn't continue working but asked the supervisor for half a day off.
Did Sherry think he was stupid?
Ron called Joe. After he and Frank were beaten up last time, Joe had left him a number.
"Joe, I want to tell you something. Sherry came to see me and gave me thirty million dollars to arrange for Elizabeth to meet at Glistening Lake."
"Mr. Howard, please wait a moment." Joe immediately told Timothy what Ron had said.
"Give me the phone." Timothy took Joe's phone and said to Ron, "Mr. Howard, keep that thirty million dollars. I hope you'll stay this smart."
Ron agreed.
Timothy hung up on Ron and returned the phone to Joe, casually instructing, "Sherry must really like the water at Glistening Lake. Let her go down and drink some."
"Has that crazy Jake made any moves lately?"
