Chapter 130 Listless
The next day when they woke up.
Both Elizabeth and Timothy looked exhausted.
Timothy rubbed his temples, sitting on the sofa. He had an important meeting this morning.
Elizabeth was also leaning on the sofa.
The two of them were waiting for Joe to bring breakfast over.
"Let's show some restraint next time."
Elizabeth rubbed her waist and let out a sigh.
Timothy fell silent.
That sigh of hers was something else - rising and falling, then gradually settling into a steady rhythm.
Joe came in carrying breakfast. Seeing the exhausted Elizabeth and Timothy, he fell into thought.
What did these two do last night?
"Elizabeth, whatever help you need, just contact Joe directly," Timothy took the breakfast and looked at Elizabeth. "Want me to feed you?"
Joe, having to watch them being lovey-dovey first thing in the morning, fell silent.
Elizabeth said, "No need, I can eat by myself."
"Thank you, Joe."
Elizabeth thanked Joe.
Joe said "you're welcome" and went outside to wait in the car for Timothy.
After Timothy and Elizabeth finished breakfast, they each went to do their own things.
Timothy bent down and got into the car. Joe handed him information about suitable venues for engagement parties.
"Mr. Robinson, these are all well-known engagement venues in Border Ridge City, or you could choose to hold it at the castle you built two years ago."
Timothy said, "Good."
He'd take it back tonight for Elizabeth to choose.
Elizabeth left home and first went to buy some health supplements to send to Jessa's father Ewan.
Elizabeth sat in the car and didn't go upstairs herself, just had the bodyguard take them up to Jessa.
Jessa's face looked rather haggard as she received the gifts.
This incident had left her traumatized.
She had to constantly worry about the photos, which kept her from sleeping well.
The bodyguard came downstairs, bent down near the car door, and told Elizabeth, who was sitting in the car, about Jessa's mental state.
Elizabeth nodded and rolled up the window. After thinking about it, she still called Jessa.
Hearing Jessa pick up the phone, Elizabeth said, "Ms. Greer, those two men have been caught. I'll resolve the matter of your photos and Sherry as soon as possible."
Jessa pressed her lips together. "Okay."
After this incident, Elizabeth also planned to keep her distance from Jessa.
Just as Jessa said, she still had family.
Elizabeth hung up the phone and said to the driver, "Let's go."
She looked down, thinking about the Scott family's information. Currently, she could start with Samuel.
Samuel had been having bad luck these past few days. An investment project that was finally making progress suddenly got put on hold, and his losses were visibly increasing every day.
He walked into a loan shark's shop.
"Mr. Hill, I need to borrow four billion dollars. Can you help me figure something out?"
Max Hill poured tea for Samuel and told him not to rush, to speak slowly. "Samuel, why do you suddenly need to borrow money?"
Samuel smiled bitterly. "There's a problem with an investment. I'm short on funds."
He hadn't expected such serious consequences.
Max frowned, then showed a complicated expression. "You've already borrowed five hundred million dollars from me. I can't possibly lend you another four billion dollars. There's nothing I can do. Why don't you try asking other lending institutions?"
"I already asked them. They won't approve this loan. I really had no choice but to come to you," Samuel asked anxiously, "Mr. Hill, can you help me one more time?"
Max thought seriously, then said helplessly, "You need a guarantor. Don't you have a celebrity cousin? You could ask her to guarantee for you."
"What? You mean Sherry? She won't be a guarantor. She's a public figure. As a celebrity, she can't possibly be a loan guarantor." Samuel rejected this suggestion.
Max smiled and shrugged his shoulders helplessly. "Samuel, without a guarantor, there's really nothing I can do."
Max's eyes flickered slightly as he continued, "It's only four billion dollars. You should be able to pay it back later. Or you could just ask Mr. Scott directly?"
Hearing this, Samuel immediately shook his head. His uncle Gerald Scott would never lend him four billion dollars.
Now his only remaining option was to find Sherry.
After Samuel figured it out, he said to Max, "Mr. Hill, I'll come find you again in a couple of days."
"Okay, come find me anytime." Max saw Samuel to his car.
Max's attitude of not kicking him when he was down made Samuel trust him even more.
After Samuel's car left, Max went back inside. He went upstairs and pushed open the door.
"Ms. Penrose, Samuel has left. Will he really go find Sherry to be his guarantor?"
Max asked doubtfully.
Max was someone Elizabeth got from Timothy. She had Max open a private lending institution in a short time.
Elizabeth's target was Samuel.
Elizabeth's lips curved up. "He'll go find Sherry."
Samuel was somewhat capable. After joining the Scott Group, he gradually gained the trust of Sherry's father Gerald.
Even more impressive was that starting two years ago, Samuel slowly drained funds from the Scott Group to invest.
It's just that after Sherry and Armando got back together, Samuel had to stop his draining plan midway because he was wary of Armando.
Now Samuel's investment was at a critical moment and short on funds.
And Elizabeth kindly sent him the information about his previous plan to drain the Scott Group, and exchanged it with him for some money.
He was now in a state of having no money.
Imperial Garden.
After a few days, Sherry had restored herself to a state of good spirits.
Della told her to rest a few more days before working.
Mindy came over to comfort her and had just left not long ago. Sherry cursed Mindy as an idiot in her heart.
The security guard at the gate called to say someone named Samuel was looking for her.
Samuel walked into Imperial Garden. When he saw Sherry, he first asked about her situation with concern.
Samuel then hesitantly spoke up. "Actually, I'm embarrassed to come ask you for help, but I really have no choice."
Sherry smiled faintly. "Samuel, just say it directly. If I can help, I will."
If she couldn't help, she wouldn't either.
"Actually, it's not complicated. I just want to ask you to be my guarantor to borrow a four billion dollar loan for investment."
Sherry immediately frowned. "Samuel, I'm sorry, but I can't possibly agree to be your guarantor."
She wasn't stupid.
Samuel took out a contract from his briefcase. "Sherry, look at this contract, and this is analysis data about the industry I'm investing in and the profits it will generate in the future."
Sherry took the contract and analysis data. She roughly flipped through a few pages. She understood the contract, but didn't quite understand the analysis data. "Let me find someone to ask first."
"Okay, I'll wait for your reply," Samuel didn't insist on getting an answer today. "If there's really no other way, I'll give eighty percent of the profits to someone else."
Sherry didn't really understand the industry Samuel was investing in. She needed to find a professional to ask.
Before Samuel left, he suddenly remembered something and mentioned it to Sherry.
"A while ago when I was having dinner with clients, I ran into Ron. He's from Elizabeth's stepfather's family."
"I didn't expect that he's fallen so low as to work as a waiter now."
Sherry now also remembered Ron. Her eyes flickered. "Samuel, don't worry, I'll give you an answer tomorrow."
Ron - how could she have forgotten about Ron.
