Chapter 414: Didn't Do Anything Again
"Stefan, can you help me pick up my car from the repair shop tonight? I've got a date with a girl, so I don't have time to go."
Wilmer was sitting in a chair waiting for the barber to cut his hair.
Stefan had his arm around Seraphina's shoulder as they walked. He replied to Wilmer, "Sure, send me the address. Which girl are you going out with?"
Wilmer had quite an active social life.
"Ms. Robinson," Wilmer said.
Stefan had been tricked by Jane before. He'd been busy with wedding stuff lately and hadn't had time to settle the score with her yet.
When Stefan heard that Wilmer was meeting Jane, he warned him, "I'd stay away from her if I were you. Jane has it out for both me and Seraphina. She might have bad intentions getting close to you."
Wilmer paused, "What? Like love turned to hate? Didn't she say she'd given up on loving you?"
Stefan was speechless. "What love turned to hate? What are you even talking about? Anyway, just don't hang around with her. That woman is nasty."
After hearing Stefan's warning, Wilmer frowned slightly, "Stefan, I know you guys might have had some problems, but Jane's been pretty nice to me. She wouldn't come after me, would she? We've, you know, slept together."
Silence.
Stefan didn't know what to say for a moment. All he could say was, "Jane is bad news. Just be careful."
Wilmer laughed, "Alright, I won't ask her out next time. I need to get my haircut now, gotta go. I'll send you the repair shop address in a bit."
Stefan didn't say anything more. He just nodded, "Okay, just watch yourself."
He hung up and frowned.
Seraphina was drinking her beverage, "What's up with Wilmer?"
Stefan glanced at Seraphina, "He's getting too close to Jane. I really think Wilmer should stay away from Jane."
Seraphina's brow furrowed slightly. She nodded in agreement, "You know what Wilmer's like. Remind him again next time. If there really is a problem later, it'll be trouble."
Stefan nodded, "Okay, I'll remind him again. Seraphina, I'm thirsty."
His eyes fell on the milk tea in her hand. The meaning was clear.
Seraphina looked at the drink in her hand and raised an eyebrow, "I've already drunk from it."
Stefan smiled, "I don't mind. Do you mind me?"
Seraphina nodded, "Fine, I'll let you have a few sips. I'm very generous."
Stefan saw her ears turning red and held back a laugh.
When Wilmer woke up, he rubbed his temples.
"You're awake?" Jane sat on the sofa, fully dressed.
Wilmer sat up in bed, his voice very hoarse, "You're up early."
Jane curved her red lips, "Couldn't sleep. By the way, do you remember what you said last night?"
Wilmer instinctively asked, "What did I say?"
Jane casually prompted, "Last night you said Stefan doesn't like Seraphina, and they got together at first because..."
Wilmer suddenly remembered.
He wanted to slap himself right now.
About Stefan and Seraphina's relationship - Wilmer seemed to have accidentally let something slip last night.
Jane looked at him with seductive eyes, "Wilmer, was what you said last night about Stefan not liking Seraphina true?"
Wilmer laughed awkwardly, "Haven't you given up yet? That was before. Stefan really likes Seraphina now."
Hearing this, Jane's eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at him, "You're overthinking it. I'm over him. I was just surprised and kind of happy hearing you say that."
Wilmer uncomfortably touched his nose and smiled, "Jane, I had too much to drink last night. Don't take what I said seriously and spread it around. Stefan really cares about Seraphina now. You can see it yourself - they're getting married."
Jane looked at her freshly painted nails, her tone carrying a hint of amusement, "Don't worry, I won't go around spreading this. Of course I won't ruin their wedding. I'm just surprised there was something like that."
Jane continued admiringly, "That girl must be really brave."
Thinking about it, Wilmer sighed inwardly.
But what worried him most now was whether what he'd accidentally revealed would cause trouble for Stefan.
Still, Wilmer didn't dare say anything more. All he could say was, "Just pretend I was talking nonsense last night."
Hearing Wilmer's self-deceiving words, Jane just smiled meaningfully, "Okay, I'll pretend everything you said was nonsense."
There was a calculating look in her eyes.
This was an unexpected bonus.
Wilmer got out of bed. He looked at his chest, where several scratches had broken the skin, "You were really rough last night. Your nails scratched me up."
Jane looked at Wilmer's chest, and a flash of disgust quickly crossed her eyes.
Jane hadn't made those scratches - they were from the woman with a sexually transmitted disease that Jane had found for Wilmer last night.
Jane said dismissively, "You kept going at it so much last night. Can't I scratch you a few times?"
Wilmer laughed, not bothered, "Fine, fine, fine. It's just a couple of scratches, no big deal. I'm a guy - I've got thick skin."
Jane smiled happily.
Hope you can still laugh later.
When Wilmer went to shower, Jane left the room in disgust.
When Wilmer came out of the shower, Jane was gone. He knew she'd already left.
Wilmer went to the nightstand to get his phone, wondering whether he should call Stefan and tell him that Jane knew about that thing.
Just as Wilmer was thinking about how to bring it up, a colleague from the company called asking him to come to the office right away.
Once Wilmer got to the company and got busy, he temporarily forgot about calling Stefan.
Meanwhile, Jane left the hotel thinking about how to use the girl Eleanor Barnett to destroy Seraphina and Stefan's relationship.
Jane thought about it all day but couldn't come up with a plan. When Sloane got home that evening, Jane rushed to find her.
"Sloane, I found out something from Wilmer, about Seraphina and Stefan."
"What is it?" Sloane had been busy all day. She leaned tiredly against the sofa and turned to look at Jane.
"Stefan initially approached Seraphina because of another girl. That girl is dead now. According to Wilmer, two years ago they went mountain climbing, and that girl fell down the mountain and died trying to save Stefan."
Jane hugged a pillow, mocking how stupid Eleanor was.
Sloane became interested, "Why did Stefan approach Seraphina?"
Jane said with a somewhat regretful expression, "Wilmer was drunk at the time and was talking in bits and pieces. It seems like when that girl was alive, she signed an organ donation agreement or something."
Sloane nodded. This could be useful, but Jane would need to handle it. Sloane wouldn't get involved.
Jane moved closer to Sloane and blinked, "Sloane, you're smarter than me. Think of a way for me to use this."
Sloane tapped Jane's forehead lightly with her finger, amused, "Just behave yourself and don't make Timothy and Elizabeth angry, or no one can save you."
Jane pouted, "I'm not going to do anything."
Sloane said flatly, "That girl's family must be very sad. The girl died so young."
Because of what Sloane said, Jane suddenly thought of a plan - to use Eleanor's family to cause trouble.
However, Jane still needed to find someone to investigate where Eleanor was from and what happened two years ago.
