Chapter 347 Persistently Hating
Tommy looked at Sloane walking towards him and sat up straight.
He let go of the two women leaning against him and gestured for the women beside him and everyone in the private room to leave. "You all go out first. I need to talk to my wife."
The people in the private room quickly left.
Sloane turned to look at Stefan. "Mr. Hensley, wait for me at the door."
Stefan nodded. He walked out of the private room and thoughtfully closed the door.
Tommy stood up and walked over to Sloane, his voice casual yet gentle. "Sloane, next time if you need to find me this late, just call me. I'll come home right away."
Tommy's thoughtfulness at this moment left Sloane not knowing what to say.
He seemed both heartless and caring at the same time.
Sloane looked at Tommy and asked directly, "Did you get into a fight with Stanley tonight?"
Tommy paused for a moment, then laughed lightly, his smile charming. "Sloane, don't worry. He's no match for me."
Sloane looked at Tommy with a gentle expression. "Tommy, tomorrow I'll go with you to apologize to Stanley, okay?"
Tommy raised an eyebrow. "Why should I apologize to him? He provoked me first. Do you know what he said about me?"
He gently held Sloane's hand, his expression hard to read. "Sloane, he mocked Jane and me, saying we're people whose real fathers are unknown. Don't you think he deserved to be hit?"
Hearing these words, the gentleness on Sloane's face gradually disappeared, but her voice remained calm. "Tommy, I understand your anger, but fighting won't solve the problem. It'll only make things more complicated. Right now our company is working on an important partnership with the Sanchez Group."
Tommy let out a cold laugh. "Why should the Robinson Group be afraid of the Sanchez Group?"
Sloane said softly, "Tommy, it's not about being afraid or not. It's that at this critical time, we should try to avoid conflicts. Stanley is very favored in the Sanchez family. We're just going to apologize for show."
Tommy softened. He didn't want to make things difficult for Sloane. He paced back and forth impatiently a few times. "Sloane, for your sake, I can go apologize to him."
Sloane breathed a small sigh of relief and stepped forward to gently hold Tommy's hand. "Thank you, Tommy. Are you coming home with me? Or staying here to keep having fun?"
Tommy put his arm around Sloane. "I'll go home with you."
The private room door opened, and Tommy walked out with his arm around Sloane. He glanced at Stefan standing at the door.
Seeing this, Sloane introduced him. "This is Mr. Hensley, taking over Sam's position."
Tommy's gaze fell on Stefan's handsome face, and he frowned. "Sloane, wouldn't it be more convenient to have a female assistant by your side?"
Sloane smiled. "I couldn't find a suitable female assistant. Mr. Hensley is quite capable."
Stefan drove Sloane and Tommy back to The Robinson Mansion. After leaving The Robinson Mansion, Stefan finally had time to check his phone. He saw the message Seraphina had sent.
It was already very late now, so he didn't want to call and disturb her sleep.
Seraphina had been waiting for Stefan's call, but the family had played too hard today. While waiting, she fell asleep.
The next day, Stanley was lying in a hospital bed with his legs crossed when he answered the phone.
"Tommy wants to come apologize to me? Great! Yes, Grandpa, I know." He smiled with a cocky expression. "Grandpa, don't worry. As long as he apologizes, I won't be that petty."
He hung up the phone and quickly pressed the button to call a nurse.
When the nurse entered the room, Stanley pointed at the tiny scrape on the back of his hand. "Bandage this up for me. Make it look really, really serious."
The nurse was a bit stunned by Stanley's request, but she had no choice. She went to get gauze and helped Stanley bandage his hand.
After wrapping the gauze several times, Stanley's hand did indeed look "very serious."
Stanley looked at his exaggeratedly bandaged hand with satisfaction, showing a smug smile.
He was secretly pleased with himself for being so clever.
He took a selfie of his bandaged hand and sent it to Seraphina, playing the victim: [Seraphina, that jerk Tommy hit me. I'm so upset.]
Stanley knew Seraphina was still alive because a few years ago, when he went abroad alone and got robbed, he happened to run into Seraphina, and she helped him.
He had always kept this secret for Seraphina and never told anyone about it.
Seraphina looked at the photo Stanley sent and asked in confusion, [How did you two end up fighting?]
Stanley replied, [You know how guys are - got heated and just started fighting.]
Around ten o'clock, Sloane accompanied Tommy to the hospital.
When Tommy stood at the hospital room door, his face showed some reluctance, but he still followed Sloane into the room.
Stanley was lying in the hospital bed. When he saw Tommy and the others come in, his face showed a smug and annoying smile. "Mr. Robinson, what brings you here?"
Tommy suppressed his displeasure and said flatly, "Stanley, about last night, I'm sorry."
Stanley could obviously see Tommy's displeasure. He raised his exaggeratedly bandaged hand. "Is a simple sorry enough? How about I injure your hand too, and then I'll say sorry to you?"
Tommy glanced at Stanley's bandaged hand and frowned. Was it really that serious?
Sloane stepped forward, blocking Tommy. She bent down slightly, her voice gentle. "Mr. Sanchez, I apologize to you on behalf of my husband. Tommy was drunk last night. I'm sorry."
Stanley hadn't expected Sloane to bow and apologize for Tommy. He didn't like making things difficult for women.
But Stanley still said unhappily, "Fine, fine. Let's just let this go."
Hearing this, Sloane smiled slightly and thanked him warmly. "Thank you."
Tommy also hadn't expected Sloane to bow and apologize for him. He frowned, really disliking this feeling. A bit angry, he said, "Sloane, let's go."
As Tommy pulled Sloane's hand and was about to walk out of the room, he suddenly stopped, turned around, and said coldly to Stanley, "We're not people whose real fathers are unknown. It was that woman Elizabeth who interfered with my mother's marriage and became the mistress."
Stanley was stunned for a moment, then naturally spoke up for his good friend Seraphina. He cursed loudly, "That's hilarious! The clarification news from back then - you can still find it if you look now!"
Tommy didn't argue with Stanley about this topic. They had grown up now, long past the age of needing a father.
When Tommy and Jane were growing up, Cecilia had shown them the video of the Robinson family hosting their hundred-day celebration.
Back then, Timothy was still holding them, standing next to their mother Emma while greeting guests.
There was also the video message Emma left for them in her distressed state.
In the video, Emma told them that Timothy loved Elizabeth very much, that she had lost completely, that she was going to die, and that when they grew up, they should act as if Timothy didn't exist and obediently listen to Manuel.
Thinking of the video content, Tommy didn't say anything more. He pulled Sloane out of the hospital room.
He wasn't as obsessed with hating Elizabeth and Timothy as his sister Jane was.
