CHAPTER 22
Mom, "Why are you girls fighting"? They all kept quiet. "I'm not talking to the both of you". They didn't want her to know because that would put them into bigger trouble. Helen, "No mum we were just arguing over something". Dorris, "Yes we can't be quarreling at our age. It was just a random argument nothing else". Helen's mom, "Please if you want to argue carry it somewhere else, don't you know you are disturbing the whole neighborhood. Are you hearing me?" They all echoed "Yes Mom". Helen's mom didn't want noise so she went back to her siesta.

Dorris knew that she spoil everything she had plan is she disconnect her self from Helen. Dorris, "I'm very sorry Helen I was not happy with my boyfriend that's why I said all this things. You know me na I wouldn't say anything to hurt your feelings. Please forgive me." Helen, "what happened to your boyfriend"? Dorris began shedding crocodile tears. Dorris, "my boyfriend broke with me because of another girl". 

Helen, "You would have told me about it". Dorris, "I was coming to your house to tell you but you were not around. Please don't angry about what I said, the break issue is still missing up with my emotions". Helen, "I should be the one to be sorry for not being there for you when you needed me, please forgive me as well". Dorris, "I will if you forgive me first". Helen, "No you forgive me first". Dorris, "You know what let's forgive each other at the same time". Dorris did the countdown. They said to each other at the same time "I forgive you". They both laughed at each other. 

Helen mom's finally got her peace of mind from the loud laughter she had outside. She said to herself, "This is nice is better na quarreling, those days". Helen started telling her how Dennis surprised her starting from when he carried her to the boutique and the huge amount he spent on her. To the wonderful display in the fancy restaurants. Helen, "Can you believe there is something like Spanish spaghetti, it is very chilly at first but once you take your third bite, I don't know where the spicy taste comes from. I'm still trying to understand how the chief prepared the food". This made Dorris very annoyed but she reserved her anger for her plans. Dorris, "That's amazing you enjoyed yourself". Helen, "When I came back the moment kept on replaying in my head like an Indian romantic movie". 

Dorris kept on looking at her thinking of her she just slapped her in the mouth but she pretended she was very happy for her. Dorris is a green snake in greenish grass. It her friend was short-sided to see the great doom that was before her. Dorris, "You are very lucky to have such a good man like Dennis. Let me be leaving for the restaurant Mom must be needing by now. I will see you later in the day". Helen, "Okay dear". 

Dennis had just prepared breakfast for himself and his mom. Dennis woke up early today like usual. They all sat down at the dining table to eat. Dennis prayed for the food. Dennis, "mom I have good news for you". Mom, "What could that be"? Dorris, "I have seen the girl that want to spend the rest of my life with she will be coming here tomorrow". Mom, "Can't wait to see her, I know she will be very beautiful". Dennis, "You know me very well Mom". Dennis's mom started telling Dennis how she and his late dad met it was kind of an interesting story for Dennis. 

Dennis went to his soon-to-be bride's house to check if he would see her mom and he did but she was in a hurry to meet up with her customers, so she thanked him for what he had done for his family and told him she would see him. Later when she comes back in some days time. Dennis, "Helen I want to show you the toy sweet mom tomorrow and I want to get prepared for it. She is not a difficult person but the truth of it all is that she loves decency. Helen, "Okay that won't be a problem but please can I ask for a favor?" 

Dennis, " okay what could that be?". Helen, " please I will love if my friend Dorris follows to see your, please she is going through a lot." Dennis, "why should she follow us y see my mom? That will be very confusing for my mom." Helen, "please her boyfriend just broke up with her and she will really needs me at this critical moment."

Dennis, "just because of breakup and she is behaving like this imagine when someone died in the family how will react.

Pls let her not follow us I will take you girls out after we see my mom to cool her break-up mood. Coming with us is not necessary. It's not please." Helen, "Please just this time, please just do this one for me." Dennis knew that girl was up to something that's why he didn't want Dorris to come. Dennis, "Okay let her come but warn her to know her boundaries because I won't take likely with anyone." Helen, "She won't try it dearly, I have warned her." 

Helen called Dorris if she would be free to follow her and Dennis to see Dennis's mom. Dorris didn't think twice to say yes because every opportunity can't be wasted. Dorris dressed so nicely as if she was the one that they were carrying to see Dennis's mom. When she came into the house house, Helen was already done dressing. His dress right the attention of everyone close to her. When she knocked at Helen's door. Helen opened the door. They checked each other out and started praising themselves. Dennis said to himself, "What could this girl be up to now."

Dennis didn't like the clothes that Dorris was putting on. He knew if he took Dorris shopping she might think that Dennis was in love with her. So Dennis took both of them for shopping. Helen and Dorris went to choose only one cloth that they would be wearing to Dennis's house. Helen already had in mind what to take, something simple and modest. Helen to Dorris about the type of clothes she was meant to wear but Dorris was too stubborn to listen she took clothes that were meant for a club as her choice.

After Dennis had paid for the dresses. They entered the car. Dennis, "Please ladies please my mom doesn't like any attire, so please.

If the dress I not good please return it before we get good. Helen thought Dorris would return the party dress she wore. Since no one responded he put the goodies in the car trunk.  The packaging bags that were used to carry the clothes were the same but only Dorris knew exactly which ones were her's. Dorris had a smart plan but it was kind of funny. Dorris said in her thought, Wow look at this mighty Mansion, when I will finally be his queen and be will king this will by then be my house. She smiled at herself because new knew what was going on in the background.

Dennis, "Welcome to my beautiful home beautiful ladies am delighted to have you". Helen, wow your house is fancy and massive. You have a great taste in choosing things. Dennis, That'ss That'schose to compliment my good taste. Dorris and Oy laughed at their romantic moment. Dennis opened the car trunk for them to carry there clothes, but Dorris didn't cloths want Helen to carry the clothes. Dorris, let the get the cloths Helen no need to stress yourself our soon-to-be bride. Dennis took them inside gave them different places to change. Dorris gave Helen her bag which contained the party dress. 

Dorris has already finished wearing her dress which belongs to Helen. She went to the room where Helen was changing and locked the door so that Helen could not come out early enough to stop her from introducing her self with Dennis. Dennis, "where is Helen"? Dorris, "she is still dressing, she says we will join later". Dennis, okay then let's go and stay in the sitting room before my mom comes. 

Dennis's mom was already in the sitting room. Immediately Dorris entered the sitting room and prostrated to greet Dennis's mom. She stood up with a lot of joyand and went ahead to give her a big hug. Dennis, "Mom that's not...." Dennis didn't allow Dennis to finish his statement. Dennis's mom, "What are you telling me she is very beautiful. Stand up let me". Dorris stood up and turned around. Dennis's mom was very impressed with Dennis's selection but she wanted to know if she had a good character.

Dennis's mom, "Please come here tomorrow morning I have something for you". Dorris, "Okay Mom I definitely will". Dennis went to check what Helen was up to, and as he left to find her she was locked inside the room. Dennis felt it was Dorris's handwork. He opened the door for him to find out she was dressed in club attire. She was trying to explain to Dennis that this is not what she chose but Dennis was so choked up with what was happening in the sitting room. He held Helen by the hand and went to the sitting room to see for herself what her friend was doing be she would understand the type of friend she had.

But reverse was the case, she thought her friend was trying to buy time for her to come out. About the clothes, she said maybe she made a mistake in giving her the wrong dress. Dennis's mom, "And who is this girl". She was referring to Helen, Helen was so speechless the only thing she did was run outside going to Dennis's car. Dennis, stand let's go. Dennis was referring to Dorris with a lot of anger in his words. Dennis's mom was confused about what was going on in her house. Dennis carried the both of them to Helen's house. 

Dennis, "What was that you did out there". Helen was also confused. "Dorris explains your sel, f," Dennis said facing her with a lot of authority in his voice. He tried to explain but Dennis didn't want to her outside because to him it seemed as if Dorris's words were like thorns in his ear. Dennis, "Get down from my car". Dorris, am sorry I didn't mean to cause any harm I was only trying to buy ....." Dennis, "Get out, you liar do I look like a child that you can fool around with". Dennis went out with annoyance removing her shoes because it was paining her a went to her house. 

Dennis, "Are you the type of friend you have? don't you she is trying to take your position or am I the only one that can see this?" Helen, "No she can do that, I feel like she was trying to buy time for me to dress up". Dennis, "Okay what can you say about the dress". Helen, "That's just a common mistake she didn't mean to do any of that", but I don't know who locked me inside". Dennis, "Sometimes I just think if this girl cast a spell on you. Because how can you see all tthesethings she is doing to you and you don't know she is not a good person". Helen, please stop talking bad about my friend, she helped me in the time past". Dennis, "You know what I'm already having a bad day, and I don't want to have this conversation with you". Helen, "Are you chasing me from your car"? Dennis, "Your words, not mine."Helen left Dennis's car with annoyance. Dennis didn't hesitate to zoom off. Helen thought he will come out to beg her but she was wrong, did not know who she dealing with.
