River POV

"River do you want to share today?" The group counselor asks looking at me. I shake my head.

"I would like you to share a little something today so let's just start slow. Tell us how long you were held for and how long you've been away from the church."

"I'm River and I was there for almost eighteen weeks minus a half a day that I thought I had escaped before I was taken back. We've been back..back home for two weeks now and it's hard. It's so much harder then I dreamed it would be."
"Can you tell us more about that?"

I look at my hands "I just feel like...like sometimes they expect me to be who I was before and I'm not her anymore. That person they all loved died that first week and I just can't be her again. I can't be someone with hope, I'm not the girl who can see our happily ever after. I just can't... never mind I'm done. Thank you." I say looking down as my eyes fill with tears.

Sheldon grabs my hand as he comes out of his meeting "Did you share baby?" He asks kissing my head. I nod "That's good. I shared too." I squeeze his hand.

"Do you think me being at home is hurting Annie?" He stops and pulls me in a hug. He just holds and rocks me tight.

"I don't know anything more then you do. Everything scares me and I feel like we're just waiting for him to find us." I look up at him. I thought it was just me.

"Do you think we should go to Mexico with them?" He asks me lifting me to his face, I wrap my arms around his neck.

"Here.. isn't working. So maybe mexico will be a little easier." I say as I kiss him. He nods as we kiss.

"You guys ready?" Jasper asks. Looking all business like with that serous look on his face. He quickly leads us to the car. I laugh as he climbs in behind me "Are you laughing at me brat?" He says poking my side.

"Your so serious." He shakes his head at me but I see his grin.

"I grabbed your clothes. Chailor is waiting for you she'll help you get ready." I smile.

"When did they get back?"

"Just a few hours ago so not long after you guys left for your appointments."

Sheldon grabs my hand and squeezes it. I missed her. I need my soul sister. I'm still scared to see Lincoln but I have to remember it wasn't him.

Sheldon leans to my ear "I love you." I look at him and smile "I love you too sugar bug." I lean over and kiss him.

Jasper pulls out his ear bud and so does the driver. We look at them and they look at each other. The driver starts driving faster and turning a lot.

"Don't worry I promise I'm coming to help you my loves. Hold on a little longer. Please anyone listening please don't hurt them! I'll give you the money requested, I just need another day. Please don't hurt her again!" Me and Sheldon both jump as Randy's voice says through the car stereo.

"No! No! No!" I scream covering my ears.

Sheldon pulls me closer to him as he puts his head down covering over me as I'm bend over as far as I can.

"We're not safe!" Sheldon says "We won't risk them! Don't take us home, we need somewhere else!" Jasper nods. He leans close through the window saying something to the driver.

"Wait I think I can get him unfortunately you're going to have to pretend you didn't receive that message and continue on as you would today. I'm sorry River but it will piss him off and he will slip up. You'll be safe, he won't be able to get you." Ryder says on the speakers.

"Me or Sheldon! It has to be safe for us both or no is my answer!" I say crying. I grab on to Sheldon.

He whispers in Russian to me "I won't let him take you!" We learned enough russian watching the porn Jensen liked and then we learned what we could from the book on languages Sheldon found in a leaders bed he was forced to share. We also somewhat learned Korean, French and Portuguese. We needed a way to talk and plan without them finding out.

"Wait so your going to protect us from who?" I'm confused. Who is hurting me? Is Pickle hurting me again like Randy said or is Randy going to hurt me like they told me? My head feels weird like it's scrambled. I squeeze Sheldon's hand.

"River I'm keeping you save from Randy and the church." Jasper says.

"But I can't trust you to tell me the truth. I remember when you hurt me." Right? Jasper hurt me..he beat me then he hurt Sheldon. Pickle made him beat me then they held me down while he touched me.

"River look at me. It's just me and you..Randy hurt you." Sheldon says in Korean. I shake my head.. no I remember Sheldon said we weren't safe with them.

"No you told me they aren't save to trust." I say back in Korean. He shakes his head.

"Look at me." Sheldon takes my face and looks in my eyes.

"Did you eat or drink anything that anybody gave you?" I shake my head.

"My meds, they gave me my meds." I remember he gave me my meds this morning.

"Who did?" He asks in Russian.

"Pickle did." I say back in Russian. "What if he switched them. He could be tricking me again!"

Sheldon POV

"Baby look at me." I say in english now. She's slipping, she's mixing up Pickle and Randy.

"I gave you your meds this morning when I took mine. Do you remember that?" She looks down and then looks at me confused "Are you just saying that so Jasper don't report back to them?" She asks me in Russian. I pull out my phone, there's still a hour before it's time for her pill. Maybe it's the stress of hearing his voice it's confusing her maybe some part of his mind manipulation. He was good at that shit and the torture of making us believe we were being raped and beaten by people we love, Randy was a smart mother fucker. He did have time alone with her he could have told her anything.

I shake my head "No baby I'm not. I really gave you your meds this morning. Pickle gave them to you yesterday." I turn her face to mine "Look at me River. Take a breath and tell me." I kiss her just soft but then pushing her to respond to more. This is all I had in there, she is all I had to keep me sane.

"I'm River Smith-Spencer. I am safe and Sheldon Mumford loves me and only tells me the truth." She whispers softly.

"I do love you baby."

She smiles as I kiss her.
