Chapter 319 New Plan
Chapter 319 New Plan
Liam's POV
As much as I want to resent Rick for sending me home last night, I can't. I was running myself ragged, and as much as I don't want to admit it, I really was tired. My adrenaline can only get me so far before I completely crash.
I came home. Mom took one look at me, made me a hot chocolate, then sent me straight to bed. I love my mom. And I love that she doesn't ask questions. I'm sure I'll tell her everything after this whole thing plays out, but I don't have the heart to at the moment.
But before I got home, Rick looked at me. He wasn't trying to scare me, or intimidate me, and he sure as hell wasn't trying to push me away. He looked at me like a big brother would. One that has gone through something like this before.
"Liam, I know how much you want to be out there right now searching for Liv. But the truth is, she probably isn't even going to be there. You need rest. And what I need you to do is much more important anyway," he insisted.
That got my attention. I'm not sure what the hell he had in mind that could be more important than tagging along to come to Trent's old summer home, but I'd listen.
"What do you have in mind?" I want to be useful! I want to find my girlfriend, and the quicker the better. I don't want to think about what's been happening to her out there while we are floundering around looking for her.
So far I feel completely useless and I hate it! I don't feel like I've done a damn thing to find her. What kind of a boyfriend am I?
"I need you to keep an eye out for Braxton and Ava. I have a feeling they know exactly where she is! Maybe if you can follow them at school tomorrow, we can end this," he stated.
I hadn't even thought of that. I can spy on the bastard and maybe get an idea of where they are keeping her! And if he's at school, I know he's not touching her at least. I can't believe this never crossed my mind! (Maybe I'm more tired than I want to admit.)
Apparently, Trent hadn't thought of it either because there was shock in his eyes. I guess he's just as tired as I am.
"I actually think that's a great idea. If anyone knows the location of Olivia it would be those two. They have to be keeping her locked up somewhere, and if they are, it has to be closer to home so they can go back and forth between Liv's location and school," he rambled. "We just need to follow them, and maybe they will lead us right to her!"
That actually sounded like a solid plan, and something that would get us closer to her.
"I'll do it. But what if I get caught?" I swallowed. Not that I can't hold my own against Braxton, but if this is bigger than him and I get caught trying to get to Liv, that would make everything that much worse.
"Call us. Send us an SOS and your location," Trent replied. "We'll be there."
This finally felt like something solid I could do and not feel like dead weight. Rick and Trent are right; they didn't need a third wheel to check out Trent's dad's place.
So, here I am, tramping through school on about 4 hours of sleep. I should've tried to sleep more, but I kept waking up with nightmares where Liv had been buried alive, or Braxton was raping her.
I couldn't sleep after that! I wonder if I'm going to have these dreams after she's back? I should ask Rick and Trent if they have nightmares still, or if they eventually go away. There is a huge possibility both Liv and I will end up in counseling after she's back.
"Hey, man. How ya' doin?" Levi comes up to me at my locker, huddling between me and Brad.
"I feel like shit," I mumble my admission. "I don't know if I'll get any sleep until she's back, and the way things are going we aren't any closer to finding her location than we were yesterday."
Both guys nod their heads.
"We haven't seen anything," Brad whispers, like we are in some sort of secret meeting. Which I guess we kinda are. Only, there are eyes on us from up and down the hallway. I'm sure not a single student doesn't know that Liv has been missing for 48 hours now.
"Rick and Trent want me to follow Ava and Brax today. You guys in? I could really use some back up, especially if I get caught," I lower my voice, so it doesn't carry to the wrong ears.
