Chapter 57 Chapter 57
“Everything I do, I do it, A1 flawless?! What does it mean?!”
I let out a sigh when I heard the irritated tone of Hendeix’s voice on the other line. I wish I hadn’t answered his call. First of all, why does he even have my number on my phone? Did he mess with it while I was asleep? I mean, I don’t really mind him tinkering with everything. What scares me is that he might see the messages that even I don’t want to read.
I roared as I rolled my eyes. “Huz, can you calm down? Weren’t you in a meeting? Aren’t you supposed to be working right now? Why are you using your phone?”
“Why? You think I was just scrolling through my phone here and accidentally saw your picture with a man? Of course not! Someone showed it to me!”
That’s when I remembered. Oh, well, maybe some of his rivals or business partners who have secret animosity showed it to him to use it against him—and to think badly of that picture since his wife was with another man.
“They are telling me stupid things,” he complained further. I knew it.
“Chill, huz. He’s just a friend.”
“I thought you didn’t have one?” I rubbed my forehead.
“Hell yeah, because I forgot his existence, but I remembered him again because of Sir Alex. I rushed him here to the hospital because he had a mild stroke,” I explained.
“What?! Mr. Alex got admitted? In which hospital?”
I could hear the panic in his question, so I gave him the address.
“Alright. I’ll send someone there. I’ll also call his family so at least they can visit him. As for you, we’ll talk later. I’ll have Roan pick you up.”
“Alright, if you say so,” I answered blandly. I just sat back down on the steel chair while waiting. Sir Alex was still resting, so I couldn’t help but think about Dad. I wonder how he’s doing now.
A little while later, some of Sir Alex’s relatives arrived. I explained the doctor’s instructions to them, and they all thanked me for helping their father.
“Miss Jade?”
I turned toward the one who called my name. A slender woman with her hair neatly tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a formal black suit, like an agent. Is she the one Hendeix mentioned who would pick me up? I didn’t expect it to be a woman. I thought it would be a man.
“I’m Roan. I’ll be your personal assistant starting today,” she introduced herself.
“Huh? Ahhh… I don’t really need a personal assistant,” I declined.
“My job is not for you to need me, Miss Jade. My job is to serve you,” she said firmly. I had nothing else to say.
“This way, Miss Jade.”
I just followed her. In front of the hospital was a luxury waiting car. Suddenly, I missed my own car. Where could it be? I needed to ask Hendeix where he took it. Wait, does this woman also know where it is?
“Excuse me, Miss Roan—”
“You can drop the ‘Miss,’ Miss Jade.”
“Huh? Ahhh… okay. R-Roan, can I ask you something?”
She nodded. “Sure, Miss Jade.”
“Do you know where my car is?”
“You mean the old cheap car at the bar that Mr. Lavarre asked me to tow. Yes, Miss Jade, it is under our care. If you need it, we can bring it to you ASAP.”
I grimaced. Wow, an old cheap car? From what I remember, my car wasn’t that old! And why? It still works fine, right? Just because they have expensive ones? I could buy something like this too, but I’m practical!
“Please, I need it. I’m just waiting for a call for our volunteer work schedule. I need a car to get to the venue.”
“I can drive you using this car, Miss Jade. This car is yours from now on. Mr. Lavarre provided you one,” she said, pointing to the car waiting for us.
“Huh? Ahhh… no! It’s embarrassing to take such a beautiful car. I’m not going there to show off. Besides, I don’t need a driver. I can go there on my own.”
“But Mr. Lavarre will definitely get mad at me if I let you go by yourself.”
I scratched my head. I did not expect this would be so complicated.
“Alright… fine, I’ll explain to him. We’ll talk later anyway.”
She just nodded and opened the door for me. She got into the driver’s seat and drove toward the Villa.
A grand place greeted me—the Sky Villa. It was perched atop a private hill, and I even saw the private helicopter at the top that Hendeix and I had used once to get to the airport. So, he stays here? Incredible.
From the Sky Villa, you could see the beautiful blue sea sparkling in the sunlight. The villa’s structure was perfect—a blend of modern minimalism and quiet power: all sharp lines, tall glass panels, and walls washed in shades of ivory and charcoal. So polished. Every detail left me speechless. Every design, every piece of furniture, side by side, had a purpose. Everything is connected. I couldn’t help but marvel.
Even the entrance hall left me breathless. The marble floors were so polished they reflected light like water. There was a grand curved staircase that screamed sophistication. On the walls hung abstract paintings that looked expensive. Too precious to touch or even stare at. I felt like my savings would be gone because it felt like I was in a museum sightseeing. Is this villa really real? If I tried to describe every corner of this place, I’d run out of words.
“Do you like this place, Miss Jade?”
