Chapter 245
Natalie's POV
I sit on Theo's lap, having hurt James, but I'm scared. Two men are my mates, and that alone has me fretting. I was taken in the warehouse by two men constantly, and I hated it. When Theo mated me, it felt good, but to take James too. I know this will have my anxiety up. A light knock has Theo and me looking at the door.
"I'm heading out to help Jack; more rogues came," James says, not looking at me. "Jack says to stay here with Natalie." I want him to look at me, but he doesn't, and I feel bad.
"James," I hear Theo say with concern, "just stay, brother." He sounds concerned.
"I got Jack's beta order, Theo, so I'm going out. The rogues are increasing in numbers, and by the time I join the fighting, your dad will be back. Just keep her and yourself safe. I will see you later." I don't like those words because it feels like we won't see him later. Theo looks gutted as James walks away.
"Be safe, brother!" Theo calls out.
"I will try!" James calls back. When he leaves, I start to cry in guilt.
"I'm sorry, Theo, I really am. Will he be okay to fight?" I feel him nod, but I can also feel his hesitation.
"You are fine, angel. How about we go watch him on the monitors?" he asks, and I nod yes. He carries me to the room with monitors, and we watch Savage members fight. James is in the middle of fighting off two rogues when a third jumps at him. I gasp, my hand covering my mouth.
"Oh no," I feel fear for him. He fights his way out but is bleeding. Theo cusses as he watches his best friend take hits but keep fighting. He hasn't gone down yet, and I feel so much guilt that I didn't want to give him a chance.
"Fuck, brother," he grits out, "be careful." We watch James get kicked, and he falls. Jack leaps at the rogues, and James staggers up, holding his side.
"I'm okay, Jack. We hear James grit out. It just took me by surprise. I'm fine." He goes back to blocking hits and kicks with Jack. Motorcycles are heard, and we watch Alpha Tyler pull up with his club and jump off to join the fight. The fighting is brutal, and I feel genuine fear as we watch.
"Kill them all!!" Tyler yells, and the fighting gets worse. I'm watching James when my parents step up, and my world stops. My heart starts to race, and I feel fear. I grip Theo's arm and shake. Seeing them scares me, so I can't imagine being face-to-face with them.
"Theo," I whimper in fear.
"Easy, baby, they won't get you," he assures me. I watch my mom look at everyone with a smug smile on her face. I can't believe those sick fuckers are my parents. I can't believe at one point in time I loved them, but all that stopped when they sold me at sixteen for money.
"We came for our daughter," my mom announced, and got ignored. My dad looked awful as he stood beside her. He looked strung out and off balance as he watched the rogues fight Savage.
"She is a member of this pack now, so you can't have her," Tyler says, kicking a rogue back. James punches another sneaking up on Jack, and I twist my hands with worry. Fighting continues as my mom demands I come out, but I can't face them. I don't want to.
Theo's POV
I watch the fighting, but I also watch Natalie twist her hands and bite her lip as she watches James and her parents. Her father looks high as fuck as he stands swaying beside her mom. She tears up as James gets hit again, but this time, he is slower to get up. His side is covered in blood, and he looks seconds from passing out.
"Fuck, brother," I mumble as I watch him favor his side. "Come back to us, James," I beg softly as he fights off rogues. "Make him come back, Theo. Our girl begs, crying at the sight of his side. Please tell him I need him…please," she begs as she sniffles. I rub her back as we watch him talk to Jack, who is in his face pointing towards the hospital. Both seem to be arguing and don't notice the rogue rushing them. At the last moment, James shoves Jack, and a knife plunges into his stomach. Natalie screams in terror as Jack yells and rips the rogue's head off. He catches James as his legs buckle and he falls.
"Fuck James," I hear Jack say sadly, "hold on, son, just hold on. I got you." Tears fill my eyes as he lies on the ground, bleeding.
"That is your warning, Alpha Tyler," Natalie's mother says smugly, hand on my money maker, "or I keep coming back here and stabbing your members." "Good luck, kid." She runs off, and I growl as Jack applies pressure to James's stomach. Tyler and his club kill the remaining rogues, and Natalie's dad stands there looking confused. He is taken by warriors, and I start to pace as my dad, Tyler, runs for James.
"Hold on, son, we won't let you go." He touches James's face.
"Tell her I love her," James says softly, but I hear it.
"Who, James?" Tyler and Jack ask.
"Natalie, I'm her second mate. If I don't make it, tell her I love her and I'm happy she is ours. His eyes start to fall shut as the doctor runs to the area he is lying in.
"He needs surgery, and I need to put him in a coma for now," he says, patching up James. A gurney is brought out, and he is loaded on top of it. They run off, and my dad runs for us.
Natalie is sobbing, and I feel gutted.
My best friend could be dying, and his last thoughts are of our mate. Dad rushes in, and Natalie flinches as he hurries to us. "We came to escort you two to the hospital to be with James. Honey, I'm not mad. I just want you and Theo close to him," she sniffles, and Dad lifts her in his arms to hold.
"I'm sorry they came here and caused a mess, Alpha. I'm sorry they hurt James, and I'm sorry I'm causing problems," she cries in his neck, and he comforts her. He just holds her and purrs. Dad hates any female crying; it guts him, and that is why Mom got her way a lot.
"We got you, sweetie, and we won't let her hurt you anymore. Don't worry about her for now; she has herself, and we got your father in a cell. James will want to see you when he wakes, so we are going to the surgery wing. There is a panic room there too." He kisses her head, and we head out.
I just hope we get to enjoy each other, and soon Natalie will feel safe and secure with James and me.
