Chapter 24: The Kidnap

Zora's POV

Dreading what was to come, I gathered up courage and open my eyes. The room was dimly lit but one could tell it was well furnished, though the interior decoration was a bit different from the one at Ken's house from what I could see.

Strangely I could see everything in the room clearly without any external aid. I quickly sat up and looked around hoping to find something that could help me figure out the reason I was there but the only thing that gave me a clue was the wood used for the wall and other areas of the house.

'A cabin' The voice in my head said.

'Ofcourse I know that' I rolled my eyes.

"Irene?" I called as she was the last person I saw before I passed out in the car but there was no reply.

"Anyone here?" I asked again, a little bit scared. Earnestly waiting for a positive reply of which none came.

Then it clicked, my phone was gone.

'Katie?’ I called out to the voice. It would be best to refer it by a name for my mental health. So I assumed it to be my subconcious due to my new identity and named her.

'Nice, you know my name?' she asked. 'You have a name? Well I didn't know that but it kind of suits you ' I said surprised.

I felt it smile. 'What do I do?’ I asked

'Break out' she said like it was the most obvious thing to do.

'Just sleep' I said and blocked her out.

I scanned the room and saw an opening which I assumed was an inner apartment. Unsure of what to expect in the room, I picked up a bat laying at the corner of the door and tiptoed towards the room. I tightened my grip on the bat as I got close to the door.

Holding my breath, I held the doorknob and turned it open. Everywhere was dark and all I could see were trees and nothing else. It sent chills down my spine.

Then I felt a sudden boost of adrenaline which gave me confidence to scan through the surrounding of the house still holding the bat in my hand.

After an hour of checking the surrounding with nobody in close vicinity, I went back into the house through the back door.

I was about to sit down when I heard footsteps which I sure didn't hear before, coming closer to the door. The bat was still in my hand so I stayed firm in my position and clenched my fingers around it.

"Exactly what is expected of a strong luna." The familiar voice said and then I saw him appear with the pack doctor, Tina through the same door I came in from.

"You?" disbelieve was written all over my face. I'm pretty sure I have heard him speak before and it sounded nothing like this.

Where exactly did I hear this voice before? I thought deeply in those few seconds before he replied.

"We meet again luna." His voice was taunting yet slightly shaky. Then I looked back at the pack doctor who looked confused for a mili second before masking it. Then she stared back at me.

Then it clicked. Julia had spoken to this same voice before we came here. I still remember the day vividly.

Flashback.

On that fateful day, we were done with school activities and were about to leave the school environment when a call came through Julia's phone. She looked distressed immediately she saw the name of the caller on her screen.

I just assumed it was because of tiredness, so I shrugged it off and turned on the music player in her car.

"Julia," the voice started before she hurriedly ended the call.

"What's wrong?” I asked as she looked disoriented.

"Oh, it's nothing just the usual prank call." she said and gave me a fake smile then turned to her front, ready to start the car.

I looked at her and smiled mischievously.

"Or the new guy you don't want me to know about yet?" I said and gave her a 'we will talk about this later' look. She smiled and relaxed a little before driving away.

End of flashback

Does that mean she knew him before we came here? Why didn't she tell me about it.

'Yet she had the audacity to be angry at you huh?’ Katie said.

'Don't judge her, I'm sure she has her reasons' I replied and blocked her off. I automatically knew blocking her off could be done.

"I know you are not supposed to be here. But what can I do when you almost exposed yourself to danger?” Tina the pack doctor said dropping something that looks like herbs on the chair closest to her.

"What danger are you talking about? Most importantly, why did you bring me here?” I said as it doesn't make sense. Even if what she said was true, why didn't she take me to the pack house or to Ken instead of me

"kay and Irene almost kidnapped you Zoe." The guy said and casually took a seat right in front of me.

"So you decided to kidnap me right?" I said trying to understand the situation. It was true that I saw Irene but it still made no sense because I heard this guy's voice before I passed out.

The pack doctor' countenance changed from confused to determined.

I'm sure these two are up to something. If so, why involve me? So I decided It was the best to go with the flow and reveal their hidden agenda.

"Ken asked us to do this." She said and from my rear view I saw the guy nodding in affirmation.

"What!" I Still with my mouth agap, then slumped on the chair in disbelief. If Ken could do this to me, I rather stay out here than be with them.

katie's heart broke at the news even though she didn't speak.
