Chapter 19: The Twins

Zora's POV

I paled instantly. I was immersed in my curiosity that I forgot about Julia's presence.

"Zoe.." She called my name looking so confused. What should I say?

"Wolf….." Her eyes almost left her socket. Hearing it directly from her made me nausea.

"Please let me explain." I reached out to her but she stepped back as if she was repelled by me.

"Don't…" She said stepping back.

She thought about something before raising her head.

"I thought we were friends, Zoe" disappointment was dripping from her voice.

"I'm sorry" What else could I say. I knew I fucked up.

"Don't look for me" She said and ran out of the building.

"What an unexpected turn." Mira scoffed.

"Julia" I shouted and ran after her but she was gone in a flash.

"Zoe.." Ken called out and followed me but I ignored him and continue running even though I couldn't see Julia.

He easily caught me and took me in his arms.

"Let me go" I struggled, hitting his well built chest. His grip on me tightened and soon enough darkness enveloped me.

"She is still weak, maybe you should come back later." The voice that sounded like the pack doctors' said, followed by a loud sigh.

That was the last thing I heard unconciously before I slept off again.

"It's all my fault, I should have explained to her before now." Ken said.

"Don't beat yourself up about it Ken." Jasmine consoled him.

"It's my fault, I shouldn't have said anything about it." Marco joined in.

"Are we now playing the blame game guys?" A new voice said. I tried opening my eyes but it was too weak.

"Just let it go and hopes she wakes up soon." The voice said again.

Then I tried to move my fingers and it worked.

"Wait, is that..?" Marco started. I guess he was the one sitting close to the bed.

"What?" Ken asked first.

"She moved her fingers." He said unsure.

"Or maybe I just imagined it." He said again sadly.

Since I couldn't do anything aside from that. I just cried because that was the only thing that needed no strength.

My best friend hates me now. What do I do. If Julia could run aay from me then I guess Justin will do worse because he was someone who trust me alot.

"Zoe.." Ken softly said. "What's wrong with her?" He asked and stroked my hair gently. "Let me call the doctor" Jasmine said and left the room.

His touch gave me a little strength and I tried one more time to open my eye.

The gray eyes and perfect face of Ken greeted me first. His eye widened and relief washed over his face.

"Are you okay?" He said and I could swear I heard his voice crack. The tears fell freely this time. He looked at me with pity and cleaned my tear stained face after few seconds. I calmed down and stopped the remaining tesrs. The rest of his friends greeted me and said few things. A girl with ginger hair and green her smiled at me.

"Hi, I'm Amber." She said. Her name suits her look. "Zoe" I smiled back.

"She left." Ken dropped the bombshell.

"She would, that's how she takes time to think about stuffs."I confirmed and asked about Justin.

"I think they had a fight." Marco said. Then explained what he heard.

After she came back to the house, she headed straight to Justin's room and knocked on his door. "Hey why the tears?" he had asked her in confusion immediately he opened the door.

"It's Zoe" Julia said.

"Zoe…" fear laced Justin's voice and he further asked her to tell him what happened.

"What about her Julie" Justin's voice was stern and if it wasn't because of his friendship with Zoe, I could have sworn I he was in love with her. Ken growled at that. "We need to leave this place, we are in the werewolf community Justin." Julia had stopped crying and was talking with a renewed energy.

"Say what I understand, what happened to Zoe?" Jistin was almost going crazy with the way he yelled out the last words.

"She is a werewolf damnit." Julia yelled too.

"What?" Justin's voice came out in surprise. "It's just the way I said it". Julia said to him.

"How did you know." Justin calmly said. I guess he found out too.

"I found out earlier today but wait.." Julia said as if realising something.

"Did you know about this?” Her voice broke. I guess the she felt disappointed.

" Julia calm down." Justin tried to persuade her but she stood her grounds. "Please answer me" She said and I think Justin had no choice but to answer because even I felt pity for her, when I heard her voice. "I found out before we came here." He told her. I heard her sniffled.

"Twice in a roll." She began. "I guess you never thought of me as your friend and sister." She then cried and told him she would go back home. I expected Justin to plead and try to stop her but he said this.

"I will come when you are calm." That got her mad and she threatened to break their ties but he said he had to make sure you are okay before leaving. She stormed out of his room and that was it.

He exhaled dramatically.

"I don't know how she never suspected it because for one, this is a werewolf community far away from the human city. Two, we refer to Alpha Blake as Alpha and it's just different here." He deeply thought when he was saying this.

"Maybe she trusted her friend to that extent." The new voice, Amber said.

"But how did Justin figure it out?" I thought out loud.

"That's not important now, just get better and then we will try to fighure things out." Ken said soothingly.

I nodded but the tears didn't stop.

He wiped them away and peck my forehead.

Just then the pack doctor came in with Jasmine. When she entered she paused for a while before looking at Marco.

"Did I miss something?" She asked.

"Always Jas." Marco chuckled. The rest laughed at that. I smiled too.

"What is this about werewolf..?" The Alpha's deep voice said and everyone stiffened.
