Chapter 63 - The party
Susan's POV.
The guests started trooping into the premises and the plane was getting crowded as expected. I on the other hand was in the third room on the first floor trying to have thorough supervision of the maidens who were wrapping the presents.
“Hey! Aren't you seeing that it isn't well packed? Do it again at once!” I scolded one of the girls who had wrapped a present so rough and unpleasant to the eyes.
While we did that, Callister entered the room.
“Susan? What's going on? The package isn't here yet and the party is about to start, you gave me your word.”
“Calli trust me, I had a call through to Christo about an hour ago and he affirmed they'll be here soon, she had her gold gown torn by one of the maidens and that may have wasted her time.”
“Doesn't she have other dresses to put on, she could have gone for the white gown she wore when I was at yours the other day, I bet her blood would suit that best.”
“You know Isabel, she will always do what pleases her.”
“Susan, I think you should give her a call again.”
“What?”
“Yes, do that.” Her eyes glued on mine at the moment and it looked like she needed the Luna dead even more than myself.
“Don't bother about that, Calli, everything is under control.”
“Susan, Jason has stationed his men and they are waiting, they need to be assured that she's in the building at least and you know.”
She didn't complete her statement before we heard a loud noise from the banquet hall downstairs. It was the master of ceremony and the rest of the people made a very loud noise and chant.
“She's here,” I said as I smiled at her and we both rushed downstairs and saw him walk majestically down to the VIP table which had been reserved for her, The Luna queen.
“My sweetheart.” I ran and hugged her right away and she reciprocated.
“My dear sister, it seems you're enjoying yourself already.”
“Not so much sister, I would never have enjoyed myself to the fullest without you here.” I tried as much as possible to speak to her since the disk jockey played loud music on her arrival.
The Celebrant, Noble came forth this time and exchanged pleasantries.
“My Luna.” He hugged her.
“Noble?” She inquired with a smiles and that looked fishy anyway.
“Indeed, you are highly welcome to the occasion, actually my cousin the Alpha called and informed me that he wouldn't be in attendance but you would, I'm happy at least two members of the Crown have the event, the Alpha princess and that Alpha Queen, your presence here has made it so fruitful.”
“Oh, you flatter me, Noble.”
“Of course not, I only wanted to let you know how I feel in my heart.”
“It's alright dear, so where's the food, shall we begin eating already?”
The master of ceremony afterward came up and reintroduced her again.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it's with pleasure, that I welcome to this gathering, a magnificent figure in our midst, someone who has fought great battles and conquered, someone whose name, I'm not worthy of, please join me as I welcome, The Luna of the DarkVille pack, the one and only, Isabel Lucas!!”
She walked in style to the podium to address the people.
“My beloved friends, ladies and gentlemen here present, I bring you greetings from the royal court in DarkVille, you have no idea how elated I am to be here at this point, I would want to let you all know that today is a day I've looks forward to, it's true myself and the Alpha were to be here present but he had an important emergency to attend to, you all should enjoy yourselves here in this party, and to the celebrant, I just hope there's enough drinking and food on the ground cause I'm already feeling famished.”
The crowd laughed.
“...Well, I would love to congratulate our Celebrant once again, Nobel, all I'll say is nothing but Good luck in all you do.”
I felt the love in the air, the peace of mind from the hearts of the older women who had been dying to meet with her for a while as they all stood on their feet
I figured some unusual stuff about this very Isabel, she was super active and acted almost out of control like how she wanted to dance right now.
“Christo let's all go have a dance.” She said turning to Christopher and me who were having a drink.
“Pardon?”
“Come on, don't act like you have no idea of what I am talking about.”
We both gave her a glance in confusion. She stood to her feet.
“Isabel, please don't do this, you're Luna, you can't just go...'' Christo tried convincing but she never Keyed onto it at all. She walked down to the dance spot and right then began. The place became so filled with people that one could hardly notice her presence. I looked ahead upstairs at the gallery and noticed Jason standing there. Seems it was time. I walked slowly to her point.
“Hey! Sis, don't you want to dance too, come on join me.”
I had no intention of dancing but she held my both hands, swaying them haphazardly in a bid to rhyme with the song being played.
“Isabel, what are you doing?”
“Come on? Enjoy yourself.”
“Noo.” The music from the disk jockey filled the air and the place became even more rowdy. As the plan was, a beautiful damsel from the Hilton pack, Naomi was to distract Christo by having a lengthy conversation with him since he was the only one who accompanied her into the banquet hall and had his eyes on her all along. She did so and it was working just as planned. I stood so confused not knowing what to do before Calli walked down to my point and secretly injected a syringe at the back of her neck, making her feel dizzy.
Three men came silently in the midst of all these and covered for Calli who held her by the hand with her face filled with smiles as she walked alongside Isabel. I looked again and realized Christo wasn't looking at all, I smiled and gently went to have my seat beside him.
“Hello?” I greeted as Naomi turned to me.
“Hi, please do I know you from anywhere?”
“I think you're so pretty, it seems you're having a good time with him?”
“Well, I can't…”
At this point, Christo got back to his senses. He stood to his feet.
“Susan? Luna.” He inquired with his mouth halfway opened and his hands so confused also halfway.
“Isabel? What about her?” I asked.
“Susan, she's gone…”
