Chapter 1148

Hope glinted above her eyes as the liquid rushing through them plummeted; she wiped on the streaks left staining her face.

Avon stood up extending a palm out for to rely on as she also stood to her feet. Avon pulled her to himself, grabbing her chin in a soft manner as he looked down to her enchanting golden eyes, placing a finger over her cheek and ridding the liquid produced from a negative emotion.

“Don’t cry anymore darling, as long as I’m alive and here, I promise nothing will make you cry except if it is tears of joy and not the opposite.” He promised like mentioned, sincerity in his tone as he speak.

He carved a pretty smile, relaxing and soothing to watch, his lips stretching that still perfected his beautiful face angles.

“Thank you,” Lorraine said, infected by the same infection that made her broke into another smile. They held eyes contact keeping it going for what seems like three to four full minutes before Lorraine blinked, looking down to hide the shyness that suddenly brewed her expression.

Avon pulled her to his chest wrapping his large arms around her, letting her fall to his wide embrace.

Lorraine felt at ease, the warmness wrapping her body up when his arms hugged her to himself, her nose swelled in his amazing fragrance that had her nose sniffing in for more.

“Alright let’s go heal your sister.” He took her palms in his as they both walked away exiting where they were.

Both returned back to the ward filled with gloomy atmosphere. Jeffrey was with them and he held Faye’s hand in his close to his mouth as he showered kisses to show his sadness.

Oscar was sat in a corner, expression forlorn and his eyes an epitome of tears.

Charlotte could no longer console him, she herself was affected by the aura of things. Seeing her daughter returned with Avon, she stood up rushing to meet her.

“Are you okay? I won’t tell you everything is going to be alright but you have to stay strong for her, she has woken up and requested to talk to you.” Charlotte informed her, before moving aside so Lorraine could see her paled best friend on the sick head with her lashes wide open.

Lorraine can’t help the tears that stumbled down her eyes seeing her best friend smile at her, it was so dry, so dry it expressed her pain, she could feel the pain, and she could only imagine how she’s dealing with the pain with how weak her system is.

She stalked over to her side, not surprised by the speed she used dashing away from Avon and to her.

“How are you? How are you feeling? Why did you keep this from me? I can’t believe this is happening to you. Why didn’t you tell me? Are you okay? Do you feel better? Of course you don’t, sorry okay. Sorry- because- I- I should have know, I did know but I wasn’t sure or thought it’d be like this-“

“It’s fine Lorraine. I’m okay, please you need to stop crying.” Faye cut into her blabber, reprising the smile back on her face.

It was fake and she knew it, she’s purposely doing that to hide her pain.

“You’re not fine, stop saying you are and I just can’t help it.” Lorraine lamented as she clasped a palm over her mouth to shed more tears.

She took a deep breath glancing at Avon abs nodding her head to him.

He got the signal as he moved to a corner in the room, his eyes flapped closed as his lips began moving in utterance.

Air sizzled into the room that has become still in movement, the time has frozen and only Lorraine was still able to move whereas others have become still. Faye was stiff, and same goes with the rest in the same except for Lorraine.

“What is going on?” Lorraine questioned, the harsh wind that blew out of nowhere whipping her hair around in a way it slams on her face while she struggled to keep it off.

Avon opened his eyes at her question, she’s suppose to be like them, frozen and unconscious in movement as well as reality. However, she’s very much okay and aware of her surroundings.

“How are you not affected?” Avon yelled out back to her, a bit shocked by the resistance wearing on her.

“I don’t know and why is there so much wind?” Lorraine was barely holding her feet still to the ground, she had gripped on the hospital’s bed bunk for support and she had her grip tight.

“It is written that Faye must die, I’m once again going to tamper with destiny or a written fate, which would lead to death visiting. He is a greedy entity that loves getting souls, whether or not they’re clean innocent souls or not.” Avon explained, seeming troubled as if his concentration was getting severed.

“What is going on with you?” Lorraine noticed his state and asked about it.

“I’m fighting death subconsciously while my other self is set to go rewrite her fate and I will be able to heal her. Death doesn’t want that, and still wants her soul coming to him next month when her sickness would take her away. He is not giving up.” Avon explained to her, his lips twitched with his face scrunching up then let out a gasp of cold breathe.

“What is this wind then? Is there anyway I can help?” Lorraine asked, trying to stand straight but the heavy wind blowing around left her tottering with no balance.

“Our fight is affecting this place, the wind signify a whiff of his presence. And the only way you can help is to let me concentrate, don’t ask anymore questions and rather, try to stay safe. Don’t let this wind hurt you or do any harm. I promise to make you happy, if it means fighting death then I really don’t care. I will do all it takes for me to bring back your best friend. I assure you.”

Just after his statement, his eyes shunned white before his lids rested shutting the eyes into closing.

He began levitating to the midair before he crossed his legs sitting on the empty space without gravity.
