Chapter 147

Tears wetted her lashes flowing continuously down her cheeks as she came in further into the room.

Glancing at the pale face of the lady sleeping lifelessly on the bed with drips attached to a certain part of her body that includes; only the back of her hand.

“What- Wha- What happened?” Lorraine’s voice was breaking off, her face getting sulked up with emotion.

Charlotte sniffed, taking a quick look at the face of Oscar; who appeared dull with a red eyes. “The doctor was wrong about her tumor type. She has glioblastoma and he was unable to treat it not operate well on it. He said he tried, but a much more experienced surgeon is needed.” Charlotte explained, also teared up to see the state her daughter is.

This has been her best friend, her only true friend from childhood and the fact that she’s dying is really heartbreaking.

“The doctor told us, she has few months left to live. I’m so sorry Lorraine.” Charlotte doesn’t know what to do, she was frustrated seeing the way her daughter was shedding tears uncontrollably with her hands on Faye’s arm soothing it.

Lorraine dashed out of the room all of a sudden, Charlotte wanted to follow but Avon showed up signaling to her that he’s got it.

He went out going after her, they found themselves at an exit, close to it where Lorraine sat on the floor curling up her knees as she let out more abs more tears.

Avon arrived at her side, sitting down beside her as he placed his arm around her shoulder pulling her closer that made her head fall over to resting on his shoulder.

“She’s my cousin, my best friend, my sister, my everything Avon. And now she’s going to die, why did she have to die. Huh! Why does she have to be sick.” Lorraine cried out the more as if her words brought her to more realization to what she was told.

“Few months. Few months is not enough for me to spend with her, I want to spend forever with her. I want to watch her settle down and have a family as she would watch me name my first child, she doesn’t deserve this, she deserves the world.” Lorraine poured out, her hands moving up to tug on Avon’s shirt.

“Hear me out, your best friend won’t die.” Avon said to her, her weeping coming to temporal stop as she glanced up to Avon’s face to see how serious he looks.

“What do you mean? Can you treat her? Oh yes I forgot you use to be a doctor, but when was the last time you performed a surgery? This is bigger than some mere surgery. I don’t think you’ll be able to, see there is no hope, she’s really going to die and-“

“No. She won’t and do you trust me?” Avon looked to her eyes before asking.

He could see the trust but it was however blinded by pessimism.

“I will take the tumor away from her brain. She won’t die I promise, if that is what you want then cool. I have the powers, they’re not meant for righting the wrongs done, but for making my wife happy.” Avon further explained, hearing power and recalling to the weird moment she recently went through; she was relieved.

Hope glinted above her eyes as the liquid rushing through them clotted going to a stop, she wiped on the streaks left beautifying her face .
