Chapter 85 - Rejecting My Contracted Luna

Emma's POV

I storm back to Duncan's office and see Alpha Thomas sitting in Duncan's chair spinning back and forth. Another round of anger washes over me as I see the man that was just proposing to me acting like a child.

"OUT!" I scream at him. He stops spinning in the chair and looks at me with his eyes wide. I point for him to leave the office and glare at him.

Raising his arms in defeat he slowly walks out of the office without another word. I slam the door to Duncan's office without even looking back at the two of them. They can deal with each other as far as I am concerned.

My body is seething with anger as I pace back and forth in the office. How could Ethan say that our marriage was more than just a contract when he threw me to the curb as soon as he got the chance. Did he think that I was stupid? What is he even doing here anyway?

I look at the roses that are laying on my desk and my anger softens just a bit. Did he come here for me? If not, why did he bring me roses?

"Shit," I mumble out loud to myself. I know that I should probably go and apologize to both of the men because neither one deserved the attitude that I gave them.

'Wait,' my wolf calls out in my head. 'Which one are you going to choose?'

'What do you mean which one am I going to choose?' I respond.

'They are going to expect you to choose one of them,' my wolf reminds me of the predicament that I am in.

"Shit!" I scream out loud again. Holding the roses in my hands I hold them to my nose and inhale deeply. The smell is calming. Will Ethan and Thomas really expect me to choose between them right now? Today? Bile rises in my throat as I think about the two men that are chasing me.

On one hand there is Ethan. Yes he has made mistakes in the past but he is my son's father and I do still have feelings for him.

But then there is Alpha Thomas. He makes me feel beautiful and fun. Sure he tried to murder me in the kitchen but he can't be blamed for the smell of my blood.

Sitting down in Duncan's chair I lay my head on the desk and tears begin to stream from my eyes.

'Why are you crying?' My wolf asks me, clearly annoyed with my emotions.

'I don't know,' I sob inside of my mind. 'I could easily see myself spending the rest of my life with both of them.'

'Well,' my wolf huffs back at me. 'You cannot have both.'

'Don't you think I know that?' I yell back at her.

While I am having an internal struggle with my wolf, Anna slides into the office and quietly sits down across from me.

"So what are you going to do?" She asks me with a smile on her face.

I look up at Anna with my eyes full of tears and slam my head back on the desk in front of me.

"Can I propose an idea?" She asks calmly.

"And what would that be," I mumble with my head still pressed against the desk.

"Why don't you just choose whoever wins the fight," Anna says with a chuckle.

"What do you mean? Whoever wins the fight?" I raise my head in shock.

"Well..." Anna draws out the word. "Alpha Ethan may have figured out that Alpha Thomas tried to attack you in the kitchen a few days ago. They are out front getting ready to fight about it."

"What the hell, Anna," I hiss at her. "You couldn't have led with that?"

Getting to my feet, I race from Duncan's office and out the front door of the pack house. Sure enough, Ethan and Thomas are both shirtless circling one another, waiting for the other one to strike.

"Stop," I scream. I run from the porch of the pack house and throw myself in between the two of them just as Alpha Thomas lunges forward with his hands partially morphed into claws and he accidently slashes me across the stomach. I stand in shock, holding my stomach as my warm blood begins to soak through my shirt and onto my arm. Thomas immediately holds his breath and backs away from me with guilt written all over his face.

The world around me begins to sway back and forth and I can feel myself getting lightheaded. My knees begin to get weak under my weight and I fall to the ground. Just as I am about to hit the ground with a thud, two arms wrap around me and catch me. I look up and see Ethan's bright blue eyes looking down at me. He also has a look of guilt spread across his face.

"Why..." I gulp, trying to find the words. "Why are you fighting over me?"

Ethan brushes my hair out of my face and places a gentle kiss on my forehead. "Isn't it obvious," he tries to say with a chuckle. "We both love you."

I look over at Thomas, who is still holding his breath and keeping his distance from me. His eyes are still wide with shock over what he has done.

"She needs a doctor," Thomas gasps out as he tries not to breathe in the scent of my blood.

Ethan nods in agreement as he gets up holding me in his arms. Holding me close to his body, he rushes me across the street to the pack hospital.

Looking up into Ethan's eyes, I can feel myself slipping farther and farther into darkness. "Please take care of Ezra," I beg of him.

"Don't be silly," Ethan says as he nuzzles his nose into my neck. "We are going to take care of him together."

"Mhm," I nod weakly as I slip into darkness.
