Mockery

Mockery
Benita couldn't discern the fact that they tried manipulating and meddling with her head. She thought she'd won to make Alpha Xander have sex with her, but she never imagined it was the beginning of her problem. She knew she never had a thing with Beta Khan, but she was still trying to figure out how they moved her to his room. She tried to sleep but couldn't. She's very confused. How is she going to prove to them that she was in the Alpha Xander room? Benita's skepticism surged; she couldn't help but question whether this is the truth or what they make it look like.

"I will deal with you, Khan. Her voice resonated with such anger that it seemed to pierce through the surrounding walls. A figure walked into her room, she has braided hair, a tiny her that beholds her beauty. She walked to her daughter and asked what the problem was.

"Benita, what happened?" Why are you so angry?" She demanded it and tried sitting beside her on the bed.

"Stop it, woman, didn't I tell you several times not to show up in my room uninvited? bellowed Benita.

"Can you calm down? I don't mean any harm. I actually came to check on you. Why were you like that?" she demanded, trying to be good.

"Can you leave me alone and go to your husband? You keep on moving all over the world with your husband. And you abandoned us here" she said, tears shredding down her eyes.

Oh, my daughter, I never absconded. Why do you think so? I love you and can't just leave you alone"she seemed unperturbed by her words; this isn't the first time she's said such a thing.

"I don't seem to understand you. You haven't shown up for the past year, and you think you never abandoned me?" she asked, her voice coming harsher.

"Hold it; I can't seem to discern your words. What exactly are you talking about? I want to go get it. You are not a child. Common, I raised you up to be stronger than this. I thought you could handle all situations for yourself, just like I did. Her ferocious voice brimmed through the room. Benita took a glance at her and chuckled wryly.

"Just as you handle your co-wife, My dad's first wife, you killed her because you wanted to have her husband, and you left me with her annoying son." A sinister grin played on her lips as her mother gritted her teeth angrily, trying to withhold her anger. She always knew her daughter to be well-reserved and fierce, but she had turned into such a bully that she had to bully her own mother.

"I do what I have to do; in life, you have to make a way for yourself. I love your father; I want him, but he has a mate and never takes a glance at me. I tried everything, so I just had to do what I think was best, and now I have him around my fingers", her callous mother said.

"Was killing the better option?" she asked, glaring at her.

"You are my daughter; you should understand that we aren't born to be weak. I just decided to check on you; we have a flight to catch." She walked toward the door.

"So you both are leaving again, right?" She gritted her teeth.

"You know, when you get married one day, you will understand; it's cool going on tour with your father." She walked out of her room and slabbed the door locked on her face.

"She didn't even feel remorseful for killing her husband's late wife. And then I found myself defending her all the time" She bit her teeth regretfully.

She doesn't let her mother's issue disturb her; rather, she keeps thinking about how to get back at Beta Khan for even calling her a bitch.

A knock came on her door, and she gave permission for the person to come in.

", Madam Benita, you have a visitor." The maid said this with her head bowed.

"Who is the person? she demanded.

"I don't know, ma. But there's some urgency in his voice" she said with a head bow.

"Go,I will be there" she commanded, and she rushed out.

She stood up, and on getting to the living room, she saw this unfamiliar face.

"Good day, Miss Benita. I really need your help." He greeted her with some urgency in his voice.

"Did I know you? Why would you need my hold?" She demanded and tilted her brain to remember if she had had a prior encounter with him.

"I know you, but you don't. My brother was the person you rejected, and he hasn't been his real self since then. Please help him out." He goes down on his knees. She chuckled and took a glance at him from head to toe. She then burst into rancorous laughter.

"Do you mean you are his wrenches brother? Why do you think I will help him out? If that thing was your mate, would you have accepted him when I love someone else? He's classless, he's ugly, and he has many things I dislike in a guy. Look at me, such a beautiful creature like myself who is fluent in wealth. And you think I would want to be with such a man? He's going to be a liability to me" she said, her eyes filled with venom.

"I understand, but please" She cut him off.

"Get out of my house now." Her voice was piercing through the wall. He couldn't believe she stomped on his dignity; if not for his brother, he wouldn't have taken the embarrassment. But he chooses not to leave without giving her a taste of her own medicine. Since she's such a bully,

"That's why you keep pushing yourself on Alpha Xander, and yet you get treated like a rag. You thought we weren't rich, right? But see this black card? It belongs to me and my brother. So better discern that this is the beginning of your problem." He brought out a black card, showing it to her. She was surprised but not ready to buy the idea that the person she just insulted had a black card.

"That's fake!" she shouted, trying to get hold of herself.

"Fuck you, girl. Moreover, my brother is about to get married; this is revenge for the way you treated him before. I actually came pretending to throw back your shit on your face." He adjusted his hair, gave her a mockery laugh, then gave her a "fuck you," thumb before walking out of the mansion. Her stepbrother, who was standing by the staircase watching the whole scenery, burst into mockery laughter.
