Chapter 9 he felt familiar
Alexander’s P.O.V. (Continued)
She was still standing with her hand on Marcus's arm and her chin high.
“Why are her walls so high that I can’t read her?” Velan grumbled frustratingly.
"It's okay, guys. Everything is okay," she assured them confidently, her eyes still locked on me without any fear.
She took a deep breath and slowly walked towards me. Her walk was guarded, but she walked gracefully, demanding attention from everyone present around her.
She walked like she owns the world.
She stopped a good safe distance in front of me. I could watch her all day. She doesn't need to do anything.
Just sit in front of me and look at me with a faint smile, and if possible, with a different expression in her eyes.
I am sure that those eyes were filled with sparks of life once, and I wondered what they looked like with those sparks.
Those eyes had a story behind them, and for the first time in my life, I wanted to know the story of someone.
I wanted to learn her story.
I just kept on staring at her while she held her gaze with me with the same lifeless expression in her eyes.
I blinked when Hunter nudged me from the side. I took a deep breath, masking my embarrassment when I realized that I was staring at a she-wolf so openly.
“Give me your phone.” I asked her while raising my hand towards her.
She didn’t ask or show any reaction. She gently pulled the side of her suit jacket and took her phone out from the inner pocket, her movement lazy, unhurried, and still captivative.
She opened it and slowly moved towards me. It was when I noticed that she had gloves on her hands.
“She avoids being touched by others.” Velan remarked, intrigued by the mystery of this girl, Amelia.
My fingers gently brushed the tip of her fingers, but to my dismay, I felt like I was touching rubber or something like that.
The gloves was too thin to be noticed in one gaze, still thick enough not to give any feeling of her skin. I clenched my teeth hard but didn’t show any disappointment on the surface.
I took the phone from her and dialed my number. “This is my number. Save it. I will notify you for the meeting.” I told her after I got her number on my phone.
“Thanks, my king. I will wait for your message.” She replied politely and took her phone back. She bowed a little in front of me and then walked away.
“Let’s take her with us.” Velan urged me, but I didn’t budge.
Forcing a woman to do something against her will????
Never….
“Let them go.” I ordered when I felt that my warriors were about to come forward.
She suddenly stopped and looked at me over her shoulder.
“Just a heads up, my king. Avoid using the same car when you go back. They have their eyes on us right now.” I narrowed my eyes, sensing the warning in her voice.
“Let the king return to his car safely first.” She announced and every rogue on their side immediately moved in different directions, taking their guns out, aiming to whoever was in front of them somewhere far distance.
It was too sudden that everything happened before I could even register it.
“Damn it. She is so sharp.” Hunter grumbled and gently tapped on my arm.
“She is right. We need to leave now.” Hunter said to me through his teeth.
I took a deep breath and then walked back to my car. I wanted to look back at her one more time, but I couldn’t do that if I was being watched.
It would show my interest in her and hence would put her life in danger.
Amelia’s P.O.V.
“We need this permission at any cost, Amelia. Our people can’t keep running all their lives when they have pup with them.” Marcus grumbled while pacing in my office, giving me an intense headache.
“I know, Marcus, and I am working on the proposal. You just get out and let me finish my work.” I replied to him irritably this time.
“Where are you, Silvia? Take your mate away from me or I will kill him.” I threatened Silvia through mind-link, rubbing my forehead to ease the pain.
I had been working for more than 12 hours after coming back from the Frostbite Pack, completely relying on caffeine, and now he decided to increase my headache.
“I am on my way, honey.” She cooed, but her sugary sweet voice made me cringe my nose in disdain.
“We have already bought the land.”
“Marcus.”
I yelled at him this time, stopping him mid-sentence. I stopped writing and slowly moved the file in front of me away on the table.
“I got it that you are anxious, and to be honest, I am too. You know very well that it’s now a job for me. It’s my mission, my only desire to give those people who trust us with their lives a safe home.”
I shouldn’t be this harsh, but I was agitated.
Which was odd for me. In the past four years, after they rescued me from outside the Blue Moon Pack, I barely felt any ripples in my emotions.
But everything inside me messed up as soon as I smelled him.
King Alexander Thorne…
Wet pine and cinnamon…
An unique combination of scent, but I felt fear after four years.
And attracted to him at the same time…
I shouldn’t feel attraction towards him. He is the king, of pure royal blood, while I am just a rogue omega.
A wolf-less and scentless girl who depends on her senses completely to survive each single day. But something about him felt so familiar. Thanks to my gloves, I didn't feel his skin, but his voice was oddly familiar. I didn't know where I heard him before, I felt it in my bones.
I met him before, but when, I don't remember.
I reminded myself that I shouldn't pay attention to him. He is a good king, but he is Bernard's maternal uncle.
He is related to the person who was fated to me, but he is the reason that I was still dying.
Every second, I die bit by bit.
The lump formed in my throat was hard to gulp down when I felt overwhelmed.
Good thing was that I didn't have to deal with the king in the future.
Once I get the approval for the pack name, I will shift to the human city where we have our company. There is nothing in this world that can keep bind me here. So, I want to spend the last few days, months, or years in the human world.
“What’s wrong, Amelia? Talk to me.” Marcus asked me worriedly.
It was then that I realized that I had zoned out. I smiled bitterly and was about to say "Nothing" as my answer when I sensed a presence outside my office.
The door of my office opened with a bang, and I sighed in resignation.
