Chapter 8 she was alluring
Alexander’s P.O.V. (Continued)
The world around me vanished as soon as that pair of eyes emerged from behind the back door of that car.
I couldn’t even blink, let alone move a muscle. Velan growled lowly inside me, but he sounded agitated and excited, but I couldn’t register anything else other than those eyes.
Dull, lifeless, and still like frozen lake water, yet captivating.
Something inside my heart stirred at the same time.
I sucked in a breath when her full face emerged at a very slow pace. A well-proportioned nose with a straight bridge, full cheeks, a sharp jawline, and thin but full red lips. Her face was heart-shaped without any expression on it, as if she didn’t give a fk to the world around her. Her silver hair was tied in a neat and high ponytail, leaving two loose strands on either side of face, giving her a lazy yet alluring look.
She wasn't seductive, but her presence alone was captivating.
“Greetings to my king.” A jolt of electricity passed through every nerve of my body, sending a jolt of pleasure to my lower belly as soon as she greeted me into her cold and melodious voice.
“What the fk?”
“Who is she?”
“Why am I having an urge to keep this girl protected?”
I growled possessively when I heard Hunter and Edwin muttering through the mind-link.
My eyes were glued to her all the time. I felt possessive towards her, which was mind-fuking odd for me.
Every movement of every part of my body registered at the back of my mind.
The way she tilted her head lightly while blinking slowly, her lashes forming a shadow under her eyes when she blinked, when she closed the door with a jerk of her wrist. Her long and slender fingers were moving on the edge of the door.
The way she straightened her slim and long neck when she started walking towards Marcus at a slow pace, her hands moving in good synchronization while walking—everything about her was captivating. She wasn't walking like a model, more like a warrior on a mission of conquering the world.
I even felt every thud of her shoes on my chest.
“I am Amelia Marcus Locke, Marcus’s co-beta and also the security incharge of our team.” She introduced herself with the same coldness in her voice, but it didn’t feel like an offense.
Amelia Marcus Locke???
What kind of name was that?
Her middle name was her leader's name, but Marcus's last name is Smith. I know because I got so many reports in the past six months from different packs about his team helping them with the pack security system.
My interest piqued.
“Who is she, Alexander? Why can’t I feel any emotions and will to live?” Velan asked me worriedly, feeling the same possessiveness and worry that I felt for her.
“There is no word that can express our happiness and gratitude for giving us an opportunity to have a chat with you, my king, but this isn’t the place where my king should stay longer.” She talked gracefully; her words were calculated and precise and the way she spoke “MY KING”……
I am not a teenager, but for a second, Velan wagged his tail like a lovesick happy puppy, panting happily. The way this word rolled on her tongue made me feel butterflies flickering in my stomach.
How will it feel to hear her calling my name?
“She is right, My King. We are vulnerable in an open area of unknown territory.” Hunter grumbled behind me.
“Amelia is right, my king. Although we are rogues, we mean no harm to others unless we feel any life threat on us. We came to the Frostbite Pack in peace and we will be grateful to the king if he really grants us a few minutes of his time at any day.” Marcus requested formally, keeping politeness and respect evident in his voice.
He surely knows how to
“You….. rogues????? Want a meeting with the king? That’s the first.” Edwin remarked sarcastically.
I noticed a slight clench in Amelia’s jaw, but except for that, there was nothing.
Marcus and Luca stiffened, and their expression darkened, but they didn’t speak again.
This would be the first time that my team and I were sharing a space with rogues, but this was a civilized conversation.
“Why don’t you have any scent, Amelia?” I asked her directly, hoping for any change in her expression, but to my dismay, there was none.
“Because I was poisoned with a high concentration of wolfsbane before I was banished by the alpha of my previous pack, my king. The wolfsbane killed my wolf, and hence, left me no scent.” She answered coldly, her voice steady and monotonous.
“And what was your crime?” Edwin, once again, used the same sarcastic tone, his hatred towards rogues evident in his voice.
I growled angrily at him, making him shrink his neck immediately.
Even Velan didn’t like the way he spoke to Amelia.
I still looked at Amelia with a curious gaze, waiting for her to answer this question.
I don't know why, but I wanted to know everything about her.
“You should leave now, my king. If any other group of rogues attacks out of nowhere, we will be held responsible for stopping your convoy here.” Amelia requested in the same monotonous tone.
“She is right, my king. We are vulnerable right now.” Hunter requested through mind-link.
I couldn’t deny that the girl standing in front of me intrigued me the way no woman till now could. I wanted to take her with me. I could see Marcus was mated; Luca wasn’t. Other rogues didn’t hold a candle in front of her but leaving her with other men didn’t settle well in my guts.
“Come here, Amelia.” I commanded her calmly. They all immediately straightened their bodies in alarm, and Marcus took a step in front of her, shielding her, but she put her hand on his arm.
A loud growl erupted from my chest before I could even stop it when I saw her hand touching his arm.
“We really mean no harm, my king. We are only here to discuss a business proposal with Alpha Gabe. We have families to take care of. So, we don't involve ourselves in any inappropriate actions or works. We…. We assure you that we never hurt any innocent people after becoming a rogue.” Luca blabbered anxiously, looking at us with fear evident on his face.
“No one is going to hurt you here, Luca. If I have any intention of killing you, do you really think that you have any stance in front of me?” I asked him irritably, anger now bubbling inside me.
“I am sorry, my king.” He apologized immediately but looked at Amelia worriedly.
"What's wrong with you? I admit that the girl really had some kind of charm with her that I also feel a pull towards her, but you are so obvious on your desires, Alexander." Hunter scolded me through mind-link, but my gaze was stuck on Amelia.
