Chapter 38
ALEXIA
.
I whimpered softly as I buried my face in-between my legs and sobbed. This feels like the time I was held hostage back at home because of Jed and now I'm stuck in this dungeon again because of him. Both for a crime I knew nothing about.
Why would Asher do this to me?
I thought that he was changing. I thought that he was finally learning to accept me but I guess that I was wrong. He's still the same Demon Alpha king. He's still the same cold-hearted person that held me captive and brought me here.
I hate this place. I hate my life. What did I do to deserve this? I grew up with the entire world hating me. Nothing I ever this was appreciated. Nothing at all. My mother, sister and entire clan treated me like trash.
I thought that I had finally found my place here but everything keeps going in disarray.
"Fred" I whisper as more tears flood from my eyes. He's the only one who cares about me but I don't even know if he trusts me or believes the rumours too.
I wonder what everyone would be thinking about me right now. They would they say about me. I'm pretty sure I'm highly spoken about right about now.
The keys to the gate rattles but I don't look up till I feel a presence in my dungeon. I knew then that I wasn't alone.
"Alexia?" I hear Fred's voice and I want to think it's a dream but then I feel my wolf reaching out to him and my panties are already soaked.
I slowly raise up my head to meet his peering gaze with teary eyes.
"My lord" I stand up and rush into his arms almost immediately. My voice racks with sobs as I hold on to him a little tighter.
"Shhh" he says soothingly rubbing my back to keep me still and quiet "It's okay Alexia. You're okay"
The more he whispers those words to me, the more the floodgate of tears pour from my eyes.
"I didn't do it my Lord, I didn't help Jed escape. I didn't even know what dungeon he was help captive In. You have to believe me" i sniff and try to convey my emotions to him.
My wolf is whimpering and wailing as well.
"I know Alexia, and I believe you too."
I feel a lot better knowing that he believes me.
"You believe me?"
He nods "I do Alexia. You would never release him but sadly Asher doesn't think so."
He shifts the hair that are stained with tears away from my face. "You'll have to be strong Alexia" he tells me a pained look on his face.
"I'll try my very best to get you out of here. You saved me once so I'll save you this time. Don't cry cause the next time I come here, I'll get you out of here, I promise" I take his hands into mine and placed a light kiss on it.
"Thank you my lord. For believing in me"
"I may not be here all the time cause Fred has forbidden me to come and see you"
My heart do a little flip. I can't believe that he went against his brother for me. The goddess must've made a mistake when she made Asher my mate. It's supposed to be Fred and not Asher.
"So until then..." He continues "Try to stay put till I get here. Do you understand?"
I nod at his words.
He stays with me for a while before leaving the dungeon. I couldn't sleep that night. This place is creepy and everything scares me. I miss my room. I want to go back and sleep on my bed. I don't want to be here but I know that I'll have to wait.
Fred has already given me his word that he will come for me and I'll make sure to hold on to it until I see him again. I don't care how long it takes.
Later at midnight, the door to my dungeon opens again and I am happy expecting to see Fred and my joy knows no bounds when he walked in.
"You're here" I say happily and walk towards him to hug him.
"Are you here to take me with you?"
He doesn't respond and I am wondering. Fred is always excited to see me so why isn't there any excitement in this visit? Why does he seem strange.
I pull away from the hug and that's when I noticed that something was terribly wrong. I didn't feel my wolf get excited. She was quiet. Extremely quiet. She's usually very alert when she sees Fred so why isn't she happy?
"This is not Fred" my wolf pointed out to me and I stare at him again. What's going on here?
"Fred?" I beckon at him. A bit unsure though. This wasn't what I was expecting when he walked him. He promised to help me out so why isn't he saying anything?
"Yes Alexia" he responds after minutes of silence.
I shake my head "No!. You're not Fred. You're not him"
A devilish smile feathered on his lips when I said that.
"I'm glad that you're not dumb after all"
Fred's eyes changed In color and the next thing I was Sally standing in front of me.
My hands cover my mouth in an instant to keep myself from screaming.
"Are you surprised?" She asked me but I don't respond. I am too shocked to speak.
"How...what?... what are you?"
"I'm your best friend Alexia. Isn't it obvious?"
I stare at her and continue to put the dots together.
"You helped Jed escape" I blurt out. Still in denial that she would do something like that. I wanted her to disagree and tell me that I'm wrong and that I'm saying rubbish but the look on her face tells me what her mouth couldn't say.
"Is it that obvious?" She asked with a grin and all the colors drain away from my face as i stare at her in sheer horror.
