Chapter 120 0120
Chapter 120 0120
Deep into the night, two carriages rode through the dark, lonely road under the cold moonlight. The sound of horses galloping echoed through the silent forest as the wheels of the carriage crushed against dry leaves and stones. Inside one of the carriages, little Zane sat trapped between two guards, his small face wet with tears as he cried endlessly for his mother. His tiny body trembled from fear and confusion because he did not understand where they were taking him or why he had been separated from Mira. Every time the carriage shook, he became more frightened, and his soft cries only filled the small space more painfully.
“Keep him quiet,” one of the guards growled, already irritated by the child’s crying.
Before Zane could even move away, the guard suddenly slapped him hard across the face. The sound echoed loudly inside the carriage. Zane gasped in pain before crying even harder, his little hands shaking badly as tears poured heavily down his cheeks.
“Mommy!” Zane cried loudly. “I want mommy… Mommy!”
But no one pitied him. The guards remained cold as stone while the carriage continued deeper into the forest.
After riding for what felt like forever, the carriages finally came to a stop in the middle of nowhere. The forest around them was dark and silent, with only the sound of insects and cold wind moving through the trees. Griffin quickly stepped down from the front carriage and walked to open the door for Drevan.
Drevan slowly stepped out, his black cloak moving with the wind behind him. His cold eyes scanned the area carefully before he finally spoke.
“Bring him out.”
The guards immediately dragged Zane out of the second carriage roughly. The small boy stumbled the moment his feet touched the ground, but the guards held him tightly. Zane continued sobbing helplessly, his small voice echoing through the empty forest.
“Please… I want my mommy…” he cried weakly.
The moment Zane lifted his head and saw Drevan standing there, his tearful eyes suddenly widened with recognition.
“Uncle!” Zane cried happily through his tears as he tried rushing toward Drevan.
But the guard holding him refused to let go. Zane struggled helplessly in the man’s grip while reaching his tiny hands toward Drevan.
“Uncle, help Zane!” he cried desperately. “Bad boys took Zane away… I want mommy…”
Drevan stared down at the little boy for a long moment before a slow smirk appeared on his lips. There was something strangely amusing to him about the child’s innocence and trust. He turned toward the guards calmly.
“Let’s go.”
Without another word, Drevan began walking deeper into the forest while the others followed behind him. Griffin silently followed. The deeper they walked into the forest, the darker and colder the surroundings became. Thick fog slowly covered the ground while dead trees surrounded them from every direction like twisted shadows.
After walking for a long while, they finally arrived at a strange place hidden deep inside the forest. Before them stood a massive dark cave surrounded by sharp rocks. Cold wind rushed out from inside the cave like whispers from the dead.
Griffin stared at the cave uneasily before finally speaking. “What place is this?” he asked.
Drevan kept his eyes fixed on the cave for a moment before answering slowly.
“This place is called the Moonless Abyss.”
The moment he said those words, even the guards exchanged nervous glances.
Drevan continued speaking calmly, almost proudly. “No one thrown inside there has ever survived. It is a cursed place where souls disappear forever. Once someone falls into the abyss… they never return.”
His eyes slowly moved toward Zane, who clearly did not understand anything he was saying. The child only looked frightened and confused while tears continued falling endlessly from his innocent eyes.
“Uncle…” Zane cried again.
Drevan suddenly smiled at him.
“Bring him to me,” Drevan ordered.
The guards immediately released Zane. The little boy instantly ran toward Drevan without hesitation and hugged his legs tightly as if he had finally found someone safe.
“Uncle,” Zane sniffled while looking up at him with watery eyes. “Are you taking Zane back to mommy?”
For a moment, Drevan simply stared down at the child clinging to him. Then slowly, he smiled again.
“Of course,” he answered.
Hearing those words, Zane’s little face brightened slightly with hope. But before the child could even react, Drevan suddenly grabbed him harshly by the arm.
Everything happened too fast.
With one quick movement, Drevan lifted the little boy and violently threw him into the dark abyss.
Zane’s terrified scream echoed loudly through the forest as his small body disappeared completely into the endless darkness below. His tiny cries continued for a few seconds before fading away into silence.
Griffin froze completely in shock, unable to believe what he had just witnessed. Even some of the guards looked disturbed despite themselves. But Drevan remained emotionless. He simply stared down into the abyss coldly before brushing his hands together slowly.
“Rest in peace, little one,” Drevan said calmly.
Then, without another glance, he turned around and began walking away, while the others followed behind him.
Drevan sat inside his office, calmly going through some files spread across his desk as if nothing had happened. The room was silent except for the sound of papers turning. His expression remained cold and unreadable, yet deep inside him, there was satisfaction knowing that by now, little Zane should already be gone forever inside the Moonless Abyss. To him, it was only the beginning of his revenge against Asher.
Suddenly, the office door burst open violently, slamming hard against the wall as Darius rushed inside, breathing heavily. His face was filled with panic and anger at the same time.
“Alpha Drevan, what have you done?” Darius shouted furiously.
Drevan did not even bother lifting his head from the file in his hand. His calmness only made Darius even more frustrated.
“Darius,” Drevan said coldly, “leave my office.”
But Darius refused to move. “Alpha Asher is here,” he said quickly. “He arrived with his men.”
Only then did Drevan finally pause. Slowly, he lifted his head, shock flashing across his face for the briefest moment.
“Asher is here?” he repeated quietly before immediately standing up from his chair.
Darius stared at him angrily. “What exactly did you do?” he demanded again, but Drevan ignored the question completely. Instead, he pushed past Darius and quickly strode out of the office.
Outside the pack house, the atmosphere had turned dangerously tense. Warriors from Shadowfang Pack stood alert with their weapons ready, while the members of Silver Pack stood behind Asher like a storm waiting to explode.
Asher stood at the center with a deadly expression on his face. His eyes burned with fury so intense that anyone looking at him would think he was death itself. His fists were clenched tightly at his sides.
The moment Drevan stepped outside with his warriors following behind him, Asher’s gaze locked onto him instantly. After so many years, the two former friends were finally standing face to face once again.
Drevan slowly walked toward him with a mocking smile on his lips. “Dear old friend,” he mocked as he stopped directly in front of Asher. “What brings you to my pack after all these years?”
Asher’s jaw tightened painfully. Every second he looked at Drevan only increased the rage boiling inside him.
“I came for my son,” Asher growled. “Give him back to me now.”
Drevan chuckled coldly. “Fool.”
The insult immediately caused Asher’s warriors to pull out their weapons, ready to attack at any second, but Asher quickly raised one hand, stopping them before bloodshed could begin. His eyes never left Drevan’s face.
“Drevan,” Asher said through clenched teeth, “I will not ask you again. Where is my son? Where is Zane? I know you took him.”
But Drevan simply smirked. “Your son isn’t here,” he replied lazily. “I know nothing about your child.”
The lie only pushed Asher closer to losing control. His wolf raged violently inside him, desperate to tear Drevan apart right there.
“Don’t make me lose my patience,” Asher shouted furiously. “Don’t force me to do something crazy.”
Drevan’s expression suddenly darkened. “And what exactly are you going to do?” he yelled back. “Kill me the same way you killed my mate?”
At the mention of her, silence fell briefly over everyone present. Even after all these years, the wound clearly remained fresh inside Drevan.
Asher’s face hardened painfully. “You started that war!” he yelled back. “You became a monster, Drevan. You attacked your own friend and slaughtered innocent wolves. I tried to stop you!”
“Fool!” Drevan roared furiously.
Asher suddenly pulled out a knife and pointed it directly at Drevan. “Where is my son?” he shouted dangerously. “Hand him over now!”
Almost immediately, Drevan also pulled out his own blade and pointed it toward Asher. The two Alphas stood facing each other like beasts ready to kill.
“Leave my pack,” Drevan growled.
“I’m not leaving without my son,” Asher snapped back. “Even if I have to burn this entire pack down.”
Drevan laughed bitterly. “You have no proof that I took your son,” he said coldly.
Asher stared at him for several long seconds, his eyes filled with murderous hatred. Finally, he lowered his knife slightly.
“I will return,” Asher said. “And when I do, I swear you will regret everything.”
Without waiting for another word, he turned around sharply and climbed back into his carriage while his warriors followed behind him. Moments later, the Silver Pack men rode away from Shadowfang Pack.
Drevan watched them disappear before a cold smile slowly appeared on his lips.
“Fool,” he muttered quietly. “Soon, I’ll kill you too.”
He turned around and headed back toward the pack house.
The moment he entered his office again, the door suddenly opened behind him, and Darius stormed inside once more.
“Asher was right, wasn’t he?” Darius demanded angrily. “You really took the boy. What did you do to him?”
Drevan slowly turned around, his face darkening dangerously. Without warning, he grabbed a knife from the table and pressed it against Darius’s neck.
“You do not question me,” Drevan said coldly.
Darius shoved the blade away angrily. “You’ve gone too far!” he yelled. “This madness needs to stop before it destroys everything.”
Before Drevan could answer, the office door opened again, and Griffin walked inside quietly. He bowed respectfully toward Drevan.
Drevan glanced at Griffin before looking back at Darius with cold amusement in his eyes.
“I’m removing you from your position as Beta,” Drevan announced calmly. “From today onward, Griffin will be my new Beta.”
Darius stared at him in complete shock. “Drevan… you can’t be serious.”
“Oh, I am,” Drevan replied coldly. “Now get out of my office.”
Darius clenched his fists tightly, rage and disappointment filling his face.
“You will regret this,” Darius said finally before turning around and walking out of the office angrily.
Once he left, silence filled the room again. Drevan slowly sat back down on his chair while Griffin remained standing quietly nearby. A smile spread across Drevan’s lips as he stared ahead coldly.
Everything was finally falling perfectly into place.
