Chapter 240 240

Chapter 240 240
Before the rogues could react to Roman’s sudden attack, Gab spun around and drove a powerful punch straight into the face of the rogue holding Jasmine.

The man’s head snapped back.

He collapsed to the ground without making another sound.

Before I could process what had just happened, Gab grabbed Jasmine and me by the arms and pulled us to our feet.

I stared at him, completely stunned.

My mind raced with questions.

Why was he helping us? After everything he had said and everything he had done.

Why?

Jasmine wiped the dirt from her face and stared at Gab with wide, tear-filled eyes.

“Gab…” she whispered, her voice shaking. “Did… did you change your mind?”

Gab turned to us, his eyes burning with fierce determination.

“What?” he shouted. “Do you really think I would choose a monster over my own family?”

He shook his head, his jaw tight with anger.

“Never,” Gab said firmly, shaking his head. “Everything that happened was part of the plan.”

He looked at us with an apologetic expression.

“We couldn’t tell you all the truth because Lucious would have become suspicious if he didn’t see real fear in your eyes.”

He let out a slow breath.

“We had to make him believe I had betrayed my own family. It is the only way to get close enough to bring him down.”

His eyes swept across the battlefield for a brief second before returning to us.

“Mom and Dad were supposed to be here by now. That was the plan.” A flash of worry crossed his face. “But they’re running late.”

He clenched his fists.

“So until they get here… we need to fight this on our own!” he shouted passionately.

Gab gave us one firm nod, then he turned and charged straight into the middle of the battle.

Around us, the fight was growing worse. One by one, Roman’s warriors were being overwhelmed.

Lucious’s rogues kept pushing forward, getting closer and closer to victory.

Jasmine, Kiara and I rushed into the fight, doing everything we could to hold them back as more rogues charged at us.

But Gab wasn’t interested in fighting just anyone. His eyes were locked on one person.

Lucious.

Gab moved through the battlefield like a shadow. With everyone distracted by the fighting, Lucious never noticed him coming.

He still believed Gab was on his side and that mistake would cost him.

Gab slipped in behind him without making a sound.

Before Lucious could turn around, Gab wrapped one powerful arm around his neck and locked him in a crushing chokehold, pulling him backward with all his strength.

For the first time since the battle began Lucious was caught off guard.

“Everyone back off, or I will kill him right now!” Gab roared at the top of his lungs, directing his threat at Lucious’s men who were trying to close in on him.

Seeing our chance, Jasmine and I quickly sprinted across the clearing, putting our backs against Gab to protect him.

Roman rushed over too, standing firmly behind us while holding Kiara, who was bleeding from a deep wound on her legs.

“I said move back right now!” Gab shouted again, his voice echoing with pure authority as his razor-sharp wolf claws slowly pierced into the flesh of Lucious’s neck.

Seeing their leader’s blood begin to drip, the surrounding thugs quickly took a step back just as they were instructed.

Lucious choked against Gab's grip, a dark scowl crossing his face. “Gab, what are you doing? I thought we were on this together!” he wheezed out.

Gab’s claws dug a fraction deeper into his skin.

“Shut the fuck up, you disgusting monster! Do you really think I would ever side with you? After everything you did to this pack, and after what you did to my mother?! After killing her supposed husband and raping her, do you honestly think I will ever let you go free?!” Gab screamed, his voice shaking with pure, unadulterated rage as heavy tears finally spilled down his eyes.

Lucious let out a ragged breath, genuinely confused. “What are you talking about, Gab? Who exactly is your mother?!” he asked.

“You have destroyed so many innocent ladies and taken so many lives that you don’t even know who exactly!” Gab shouted bitterly.

I could see the immense pain radiating from his eyes, a deep ocean of anger and a desperate cry for justice that had to be served.

“Do you remember Sam Dominic and his human fiancée, Sandra?! You brutally killed Sam, and then you raped his fiancée!” Gab revealed, his voice dripping with pure bitterness. “And I was the product of that horrific rape!” he shouted out to the entire clearing.

For a second, the clearing was dead silent. Then, a sickening sound broke the quiet.

Lucious let out a loud, mocking laugh. He looked completely unbothered by Gab's tragic words; to a monster like him, the pain of a son he had fathered through violence actually felt funny.

“Why didn’t you just tell me soon enough?!” Lucious mocked, a wicked laugh tearing from his throat.

“If you had told me a little longer ago, I would have gladly told you in detail just how sweet your mother was in my hands! She kept crying and begging, but I didn’t stop. I kept riding her while she sobbed, and yes, I enjoyed every single second of it, and I don’t regret it at all!”

Hearing those vile words, Gab froze completely in place, horror and fresh tears paralyzing him.

Before any of us could react to the distraction, Lucious’s hand moved so fast.

He twisted Gab’s gripping hand away with unnatural strength, broke the hold, and swung around, grabbing Gab violently by the neck.

“No!!” I shouted, trying to lung forward.

“I will kill you too, and send you straight to Sam Dominic!” Lucious spat savagely. He lifted Gab high into the air by his throat and slammed him down onto the hard floor with bone-shattering force.

Gab let out a piercing scream of pure pain as he rolled onto his side, weakly trying to pull himself back up.

Lucious turned his predatory gaze back toward us, but Roman quickly jumped forward, standing like a solid shield directly in front of Jasmine and me.

“Jason... Jasmine...” Gab choked out through his pain, his voice desperate as he forced his broken body to stand up.

“You two are eighteen now!” Gab shouted at the top of his lungs. “The power in Mom’s bloodline is already inside both of you! You both possess a strong, twin power aswell!

Gab refused to give up. Even as he struggled to keep his voice firm.

“You have to unlock it and let it out right now! You have to use all the training that Grandma and Mom taught you both! Reach deep into your inner self and awaken the power that’s been waiting all this time!” Gab commanded.

Gab’s words hit something deep inside me.

It felt as if they had awakened something buried in my soul.

Roman turned toward me and grabbed my shoulders firmly.

“He is right, Jason. Your mom and your grandma are some of the strongest beings alive, and I am absolutely sure you have that same power hidden somewhere deep inside of you,” Roman said urgently

He turned to look at Jasmine too.

“You both just have to believe in it and let it awaken.” He said.

I nodded.

A powerful warmth suddenly spread through my chest.

It grew stronger with every heartbeat, as if something deep inside me was finally waking up.

I turned to Jasmine.

She was standing beside me, and I saw the same fire in her eyes.

The fear was gone. In its place was one unshakable determination.

We were going to protect the people we loved, no matter what it cost.

I looked back at Roman.

“Please…” I said quietly. “Take care of Kiara.”

Without waiting for Roman to answer, I stepped forward.

Slowly and deliberately, I walked toward Lucious. I didn’t understand what was happening inside my body.

A strange energy pulsed beneath my skin, growing stronger with every heartbeat.

I had no idea how to control it.

So I closed my eyes. With all my heart, I whispered a silent prayer.

Moon Goddess… Please stand with us. Give me the strength to protect the people I love.

Seeing us step up, Lucious bared his teeth in a monstrous snarl. “Kill them all!” he roared.

With a furious roar, Lucious charged straight at us.

His remaining rogues followed without hesitation.

Some shifted into their massive wolf forms as they ran, their growls shaking the ground beneath our feet.

Others raised their claws and weapons, their eyes burning with the hunger to kill.

Like a deadly wave, they came at us from every direction, ready to tear us apart.
