Chapter 239 239
Chapter 239 239
A figure stepped out from the thick line of trees. The moment I saw him, my eyes widened. It was Roman Bone.
Kiara’s father.
He walked into the clearing with his jaw set, his face calm but deadly. A small group of loyal, heavily armed men followed closely on both sides, ready for a fight.
Lucious let out a slow laugh.
“Well, well…” he said with a smug grin. “Look who finally decided to show up after so many years.” He looked Roman up and down without the slightest hint of fear. “The Great Roman Bone.”
“I’ll say this one last time,” Roman roared, his voice shaking the entire clearing. “Let the children go and end this evil now!”
His eyes locked onto the arm wrapped tightly around Kiara’s neck.
The moment he saw Lucious holding his daughter, his face darkened with fury.
“And get your filthy hands off my daughter,” he growled, taking another step forward. “If you don’t… I’ll cut them off myself.”
Lucious smirked, casually tightening his grip on Kiara just to be spiteful. “Oh? She’s your daughter? I honestly didn’t know... because I don’t care at all. But it’s fine. I will let her go on one single condition.”
“You have no right to make demands!” Roman roared, his aura exploding across the clearing.
He took a step forward, his eyes glowing with deadly fury.
Behind him, his warriors instantly raised their weapons, ready to strike at a single command.
“You’ve brought nothing but pain and damage to our lives, Lucious,” Roman growled. “It ends today. I’ll kill you myself if that’s what it takes.”
Lucious only laughed.
The sound echoed through the clearing as he slowly spread his arms, gesturing to the army of rogues surrounding them.
“Look around you, Roman,” he said with a smug smile. “Do you honestly think you and your handful of warriors can defeat my rogues? Instead of dying, I am going to give you a golden opportunity. I will give you a chance to join my team once again, just like you did nineteen years ago.”
Slowly, Lucious let go of Kiara’s neck, shoving her slightly to the side, and walked boldly up to stand directly in front of Roman.
Roman narrowed his eyes, keeping his guard up. “And why on earth should I listen to a single word you have to say?”
“Because by sunset tomorrow,” Lucious said with a confident smile, “I will be the new Alpha of the Moon Pack.”
Lucious smiled, his eyes filled with cruel satisfaction.
“I’ve already sent my men to wipe out the Stone family,” he said calmly. “By now, I bet the pack house is covered in blood. They’re probably all dead already.”
His voice was calm, but every word carried dangerous certainty.
“And when I take my place as Alpha, I’ll help you reclaim your pack you lost.” He took another step forward. “You’ll rule as an Alpha of Sun Pack again.”
He glanced at Kiara before looking back at Roman.
“It’s a simple offer. All I want you to do right now is simply pick up your daughter, walk away from here quietly, and leave the Stone kids to me. That’s all.” Lucious said with a smirk.
“You monster!” I roared, my voice echoing across the clearing.
My fists clenched as rage exploded inside me.
“If anything happens to my family, I swear I’ll kill you with my own hands!”
“Dad, no! Please, don’t do this!” Kiara pleaded from the dirt, her eyes wide with terror as she looked at her father.
Roman looked over at his daughter, then his eyes drifted to Jasmine and me, pinned helplessly to the ground. Finally, he turned his gaze back to Lucious. For a long, tense second, nobody breathed and Roman said nothing.
Then, without warning, he threw his head back and laughed. Lucious’s smug smile slowly disappeared.
Confusion flashed across his face, quickly followed by annoyance.
His eyes narrowed as he glared at Roman.
“Well?” Lucious demanded, his voice turning cold. “Are you going to stand with me or not?”
“You must be really sick in the head to think I would ever betray the Moon Pack again because of you!” Roman shouted loudly.
He began clapping his hands mockingly, walking even closer until he was standing chest-to-chest with the monster.
“I would rather die right here fighting for their forgiveness than betray them a second time! I will die correcting my past mistakes!”
Lucious’s face turned bright red, his eyes flashing with absolute hatred.
“Then you will die today, Roman... right alongside the entire Stone family!” he spat angrily.
Roman didn't waste another breath. He whipped around and faced his loyal soldiers. “Attack now!” he instructed at the top of his lungs.
The moment the words left Roman’s mouth, the warriors charged with a thunderous battle cry.
At the same time, Lucious raised his hand, and his army of rogues rushed forward to meet them.
The clearing exploded into chaos. Steel clashed against steel. Fists slammed into flesh.
Growls and furious roars echoed through the air as the warriors collided in a brutal fight.
In the middle of the confusion, the rogue holding Jasmine had no choice but to let her go so he could defend himself.
Taking advantage of the chaos around us, Kiara quickly got to her feet and without thinking twice, she ran toward me as fast as she could.
Her eyes were locked on me as she raced across the battlefield, heading straight for where Gab had me pinned to the ground.
Gab looked around at the battle raging across the clearing, and his eyes widened.
Without another thought, he let go of my wrists and quickly pushed himself to his feet, ready to join the fight.
But the very next thing Gab did left me completely speechless.
My jaw dropped, and I froze entirely, staring at my older brother in absolute shock.
