Chapter 41
(Damian's POV).
"They talked?" I asked with a furrowed brow when I was told by Kaye that Juliette left the house and met up with Sam.
He nodded.
"Did you hear what they were talking about?"
He shook his head and moved his hands to explain everything. Although I was not proficient, I could understand the sign language she used.
[Luna asked me to leave and let them talk.]
"After that, did she return home?" I asked, again.
I don't know why I felt uneasy when I knew Sam and Juliette met. I didn't want them to get back together even though it seemed like Sam didn't love Juliette anymore. But still, I felt afraid of losing Juliette because she was my only reason to live.
I have a lot of work so I can't be by her side all the time. That's why I told Kaye to keep an eye on Juliette because I knew he was good at fighting. But I should have been by her side when she was pregnant like now.
I'm sure she's having a hard time. Moreover, she now hates me for all the things I did to her family. I just hope that one day she will forgive me and our relationship will get back to normal.
"Keep an eye on Juliette. If there is anything suspicious again, let me know immediately," I ordered.
He nodded before walking away from my office. I growled with an uncomfortable feeling. For some reason, I felt that something was not right. Sam was the one who had spread the rumor to the whole pack and made Juliette know everything so that she started to hate me.
I'm sure he did it on purpose because he didn't want me to live a quiet life with Juliette. But I'm not going to let his cunning plan run smoothly. I'd promised not to bother them for Juliette's sake, but I wasn't going to let them get away with it if they still tried to bother me.
"I won't leave it at that," I hissed, "if you're still trying to ruin my relationship with Juliette. I also have no choice but to harass Agatha." I stared intently at the window where the forest looked darker than usual that night.
I returned to my room after I finished all my work. When I opened the door, I saw Juliette fast asleep with her back to me. I knew that she didn't want me to sleep in the same room as her, but I couldn't stay away from her.
I sat carefully on the edge of the bed and I looked at her face for a long time. She was thinner than before and her face was pale. Especially now that she was pregnant and vomited more often if she smelled something that bothered her.
"I should pay more attention to you," I whispered as I rubbed her cheek.
She groaned in discomfort and I quickly withdrew my hand. But she was still fast asleep on her back.
"Juliette. My love," I whispered right into her face. "You belong to me. Forever..."
"No, no. Please... please don't do that..."
I gasped in shock. My eyes bulge as I see Juliette having another nightmare. She was thrashing around in fear with her tears welling up. Her hands were flailing in the air like someone asking for help.
"Juliette," I called out.
"No, no .... Please...." she continued to shake her head, struggling with the condition that still plagued her eyes.
"My love. I am here, I am here. Don't be afraid," I whispered. I grabbed her body and hugged her very hard. Trying to calm her down, but she kept screaming hysterically.
Damn it. I didn't know that it would leave such a big trauma for Juliette.

"Ah," I groaned as I felt something heavy on top of my body. When I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see Juliette already sitting on me with her hands around my neck.
She was staring intently at me. A look of anger and hatred. It made my heart hurt because every day I had to see those hateful looks directed at me. And I was so weak because I couldn't do anything to change Juliette's feelings to love me back.
"What are you doing?" I asked calmly. Not at all afraid that Juliette would actually strangle me to death.
"I told you not to come into this room!" she shouted.
"You're my wifeー"
"Stop calling me your wife!" she interrupted me while snapping. "Every time I hear it, it makes me feel disgusted."
I growled as he tightened his grip around my neck. But I didn't panic and stayed calm.
"Juliette. You're pregnant."
"I really want to kill you," she whispered. I saw her eyes glaze over and her hands trembled.
"Juliette." I grabbed her wrist. "If you're angry that I slept here, I apologize. But I swear I didn't do anything to you," I said in a hoarse voice.
"What kind of bastard like you has a heart? You wouldn't have dared to come in here if you were still thinking about my feelings. Should I open my eyes and see the face of the bastard who killed my parents in the morning?! Did you not think that through?!" she shouted hysterically. "Please get out of my way!!!"
"Juliette, calm down" I tried to get up by pulling her hand, but she pressed my neck instead, choking it so hard that I winced in pain. "Juliette."
"My life is completely ruined because of you."
"Ugh," I groaned, pulling her hand to loosen her chokehold. "I just came to check on your condition and suddenly you have a nightmare. You hugged me and wouldn't let me go."
"Liar!!!" she shouted, "I would have known if I had a nightmare!"
"Juliette, calm down. I'm telling the truth," I said, looking closely at her. "I'm not lying."
Her grip loosens and I try to get up, but Juliette pushes my body back down.
"Juliette," I protested.
"If I see you here again the next morning, I won't hesitate to put a knife through your heart, Damian. I don't care if we all die. Then we should die together and suffer in hell," she warned.
"I will never let that happen. If anyone has to suffer, then let me bear it all."
