Chapter 84: The Garden

Adam's pov

I got out of the car and Imogen walked into the mansion, I noticed that she was stressed and she was trying to think of what to do, it wasn't easy and I was ready to help her. I walked into the mansion and made my way to my study room, I had so much work to do as usual.

"Cancel all the meetings I have tomorrow," I said to my beta who was trailing behind me

"But Adam, a lot has been going on lately and you need to attend these meetings," He said, We have been friends since childhood and we are inseparable and I know he only wants what's best for me and the pack but I have other plans.

Ever since I was born, I have been living my life for the pack forgetting that I have a life to live, "I have been tending to the issues of this pack and still, there's always a new problem, I have to let things flow, cancel my meetings tomorrow and I am already feeling so sick of every meeting I am happy with those elders" I said

"Okay, I can attend a few of them for you, like the meeting with the head of food resources from Asia," He said. He had a point, I had really important meetings to attend tomorrow and I didn't think it through

"Alright, help me take care of it," I said

"Okay" He responded and bowed his head slightly

"Is there any problem sir, with your mate?" He asked

"No, it's only that we're finding it difficult to take the children from her ex-husband, Werewolves ain't allowed in that town and the guy has somehow made a name for himself among the politicians so it's really hard," I said

"Why don't you take them from him by force" He said.

"He threatened to poison them and he was joking about it, The kids love him and I don't blame them, they grew up knowing him as their father and they don't know what he is capable of doing," I said, I decided not to go to my study room, I needed to go to my room and rest, all my work can wait.

"Okay" He replied and I pushed the door of my room open

"If there's any problem or anything at all, report it to me," I said and shut the door of my room without hearing any response from him, I walked to my bathroom and turned on the shower. I don't blame Imogen for anything, I blame myself, I was blinded by power and my father made me choose power over my first love, I had to choose Maggie and it was a rough choice, she's no longer here, she left me and now she's making out and having fun with some rogue in the pubs

I can offer her more, I gave her more, I made her lack nothing but I guess it was never enough for her. I turn on the shower and let the warm water fall on my smooth skin, I pick up my hair shampoo and pour it on my hair, I wash my hair and turn the water back on as I let the warm water fall on my hair and it felt refreshing, it helped me calm my nerves

Imogen deserved everything and more that I gave to Maggie, I wasted six good years with Maggie, that was a lot of time and now my children know someone else as their father, I didn't even know that I had children until a few days back and if maggie didn't leave me, I wouldn't have known, I felt like a terrible person right now

I walked out of the bathroom after the long bath in the shower, I wrapped a towel around my waist, dried my hair, opened my wardrobe, and pulled out something I could wear for dinner, I walked closer to the couch in my room and sat there for a few minutes, I turn on my laptop and read a few emails that I received.

"Argh, this is so tiring," I said as I stood up from the couch and stretched my hands and legs as walked to my door and opened it, I made my way to the dining table, and my food was placed right before me just as I like it, they were lots of meat and I love meat

When I was done eating, I decided to go outside the mansion to receive done fresh air. It was a cold night, It felt like a night that I could remember, I made my way to the garden, and I strolled and touched the beautiful flowers in the garden, I sighed as I looked around it. I closed my eyes as I tried to feel my mother's presence in the garden, this was a place she loved, a place where she could spend the entire day whenever my father was busy and she was not

She spent most of her time trimming the flowers in the garden, trying to make them beautiful, I don't know much about her but one thing I knew was that she always saw the beauty in things even when they weren't their best

The moon was shining in the sky and I smiled and chuckled, I walked to the pool, I hadn't been to this garden for a very long time now and the servants did a great job by maintaining it just as my mother left it.

I walked back to the mansion, It was just a few hours before dawn and I hadn't had the rest that I promised myself, and tomorrow I was going to follow Imogen to wherever she planned to go to look for our children

As I walked through the hallway, I knocked at a familiar door, it was my father's room

"Come In," He said and I pushed the door of the room open and entered into the room, he was sitting on the couch in his room, it looked like he was reading a book

"Father," I said

"Adam" He turned to me and pulled his glasses

"How are you doing, Have you been taking your medications," I asked, I wanted him to be strong and he was already strong and it was obvious that he was taking his drugs

"Yes, I have fine," He said as he stood to his feet she walked to the mini fridge in his room, he took two glass cups and poured fruit juice into it

"You don't have to," I said

"No, but we have to talk, there's a lot of questions that I have to ask you," He said, it looks like I'm not going to sleep early today, I sighed and accepted my fate as I walked to the couch and I sat on it, I took one of the cups and I sipped from it. I haven't tasted any fruit juice like this before, maybe it's because I don't drink fruit juice that much but this one is amazing

"Adam, tell me more about your children," He said, I knew this was the question but the problem is, I don't know anything about them
