Chapter 83: The shower

Imogen's pov

I got out of the car and I made my way into the mansion, I climbed up the stairs and made my way to my room, it felt warm and I loved it. I claimed my bed and lay on it, I was feeling so tired and maybe this was the opportunity I had been looking for, I wanted to fall asleep and rest for a while.

As I lay on the soft bed, I stared up at the ceiling and my right hand was on my stomach, I couldn't fall asleep and all I could think of was my little angels, I was finding it difficult to think of something else and I don't know how Adam would be feeling about this, I hoped that they would be less drama in life because I was already feeling very tired and weak but I couldn't fall asleep and my muscles were weak, my shoulder hurts badly, my toes and fingers, all part of my body hurts so much and this was Maxwell's fault, I forgot to ask him about the wolf bane when we went to see him

I was so curious to know about it and what it was doing to my body and my wolf, I picked up my phone, hoping that he would pick up my calls

"Hello," he said as soon as he picked up the call

"Hello Maxwell," I said

"I hope you have changed your mind and you have decided to stop wasting my time and your time too," He said, I rolled my eyes and gritted my teeth, I felt like slapping him, he is such a coward and he is an heartless animal, it hurts so much whenever I think that I have lived with him for a few years and I didn't notice this part of him, he looked so innocent and I couldn't believe that I have lived with him for years

"What did you inject into my body" I asked and I heard him chuckle

"It's called wolf bane, You won't be able to mate with your so-called first love because you have no wolf, the wild bane silenced your wolf," Maxwell said, he didn't beat around the bush, he just answered me straight, Maxwell is a monster

"You're a monster," I said out loud, I was so afraid and I prayed that he hadn't injected it into any of my children's bodies, one of them would become the next Alpha and that can't happen if he had no wolf, my heart began to race fast and I ended the call, I don't know if Maxwell has done it yet and maybe if I ask him about it, he might threaten to do it.

I stood up from the bed, unable to sleep, I decided to have my dinner, I walked out of the room and made my way down the stairs to the dining table, and as usual, I was the only one there, It was past dinner time, so I didn't expect to see Adam's father here.

Immediately I got to the dining table, the chef dished my food for me and I dug in, all the meals that I had eaten since I came to this mansion had been made by one of the best chefs, and all the food tasted so sweet and as I ate my dinner now, I could help but close my eyes and I tried to feel every part of the food in my mouth

After I was done eating, I decided to go back to my room, I knew that tomorrow was going to be very eventful because I was going to take my children from Maxwell tomorrow, he has no right to hold children that are not his without the permission of their parents and only God knows what he must have to tell them or what he must have done to them

I pushed the door of my room open and I decided to shower, I undressed and I walked into the bathroom, I turned on the shower and I let the warm water fall on my smooth skin, I picked the shampoo and I poured it on my hair, I washed my hair and then turn on the shower again for the water to wash over my head, it felt refreshing and I was enjoying every single moment of the shower, I didn't want to leave and that is the amazing part of warm shower baths, it's refreshing and you wouldn't want to leave it
