Just then, a loud roar erupted from the building, causing everyone to jump. Percival, his intense gaze cutting through the room, burst through the door. He glanced at me briefly before his eyes locked onto Nixx. Impressive recovery time, I thought.
“Oh wow, hold up!” Percival’s voice was filled with disbelief. “Did you really sleep with Mirabelle? Tatiana just heard everything, and she’s in there, absolutely devastated. She’s already been through so much, and now this? It’s too much for her to handle. I’m really worried about my pup; it’s like we’re on the verge of losing him!” William stepped in quickly, restraining Percival from going after Nixx.
Nixx squinted his eyes, clearly unfazed. “Nah, just let him go, William. Let him face the consequences of his actions. It’s about time he learns his place. If I want to be the next Alpha, I will be, and you better remember that. I might even do it just to annoy you, Percival!” He chuckled with a hint of mischief, brushing past us casually as he made his way to the clinic door. “I gotta see her.”
“No way!” Percival broke free from William’s hold and stood defiantly in front of Nixx. “She doesn’t want to see you! She’s already dealing with enough pain. I just want to make sure she stays healthy so I can have my pup!”
Nixx chuckled mischievously, a glint of amusement in his eyes. “That’s all you care about, isn’t it? You don’t seem to care about Tatiana at all. I’m the one who actually cares about her. You’ve got a mate, Percival. She’s standing right over there, watching you move on without even acknowledging her. It’s gotten to the point where she’s had enough of you. You’ve set yourself up for failure, and neither of you seem to realize that all of this could go away if you just let nature take its course and let the pup die. Can’t you see that it was never meant to be born? But if it is, don’t worry, I’ll treat it as if it were my own.” He curled his lip, showing his teeth with a smirk.
Percival let out a low growl, his eyes briefly shifting to me with a look of longing. He wanted to be with me, but he was also conflicted. As Nixx approached him, Percival didn’t hesitate; he swung his fist with a powerful strike, landing a solid blow to Nixx’s jaw. Nixx was sent sprawling to the floor, and Percival walked past him with a determined stride, heading straight for the clinic. I wanted to be back with Tatiana, to make sure she was alright.
Tatiana was now caught in the middle of everything…
Well, at least Percival seemed unaffected by her distress. That would definitely speak volumes.
Percival’s aura seemed to expand as he stood there, his veins bulging and chest inflated with alpha confidence. As I approached him, I caught his attention. “Hey,” I said, trying to offer some comfort.
“Edeline, I’m so fed up with him,” Percival said, his voice filled with frustration. “I don’t care if he’s my half-brother or not… I’ve had enough of this.”
I remained calm, extending my hand to gently uncurl his fist. I intertwined our fingers in a comforting gesture. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment.
“I’m sorry,” I said softly.
He looked at me skeptically. “You’re sorry? You’re the one who’s marked. I should be the one feeling sorry for you,” he said, his hand resting gently on my cheek as I gazed up into his eyes.
Those eyes… they were such a striking green, like moss-covered stones. They flickered between my mark and my face, holding a depth of emotion and determination.
He leaned in, his breath warm against my ear. “I’m about to do something wild… maybe even a little crazy. Just promise me you won’t hate me. I really need your word.” His voice was soft, his eyes intense with a wolf-like intensity.
I had a feeling about what he was planning.
“Sure, as long as you promise me the same.” My voice was soft, almost a whisper, as we stood face to face. He studied me closely, squinting a little. “I swear, as long as it’s not about going back to Percival.”
I couldn’t help but shake my head, letting out a sarcastic laugh. “Even though he’s my friend, it doesn’t really matter. I can have some fun without him… discover who I am.” I looked directly into his eyes, and in that moment, he seemed to understand.
“Alright, little sister. I promise. And you promise not to hold any grudges against me, okay?”
I sighed, glancing from the front door back to Nixx. “If it brings you joy, I’ll go along with it. I just want you to be happy.”
He smiled widely, lifting me up into a tight hug. “Hey Edeline, you might want to consider leaving tonight because things are about to get pretty chaotic…”
I gave him a quick peck on the cheek before he set me down. As he casually strolled inside, Alpha William attempted to intervene but was unsuccessful.

Tatiana
I couldn’t help but cry uncontrollably. Yeah, I heard the news… So, Nixx and Mirabelle got together. He went back on his word to me.
I have to admit, it’s hard for me to say anything right now… Sorry, I just can’t. But I would never have done anything with Percival if I hadn’t been in my heat. I was completely unnoticed. I shed a tear when I thought about the person I always believed was meant to be my partner.
I still remember the words he said to me that night behind my cabin.
I was instantly smitten when I first laid eyes on him, but it was that night when I truly fell for him. It’s always been Nixx, no doubt about it.
Sure, I kissed Percival that one time on the mountaintop, but it was more out of loneliness and desperation. I totally understood where he was coming from.
Now, Percival is just here with me, cradling my stomach and keeping me company. I see him as a friend, and he feels the same way about me.
