Kristen's pov.

I staggered back to my room, I had lost the two-game battles, I didn't succeed in gaining Gath's trust neither did I succeed in befriending Agatha.

“Damn,” I threw a blow in the air. “What was I thinking?” I scoffed, nodding my head in disappointment.

“Hello” I heard a voice greeted behind me, I spin my head back, locking eyes with two older men.

“Hi,” I forced a smile as I turned to go. “They must be part of the elders of the elders of this pack”. I muttered, as my face flickered to fear.

“You must be Kristen” he smiled as he took my hand placing a kiss on it. “I must say Dominic is quite lucky to have you”.

“You are indeed beautiful” the other added.

“I am Elder Otto” the first elder introduced. “And this is Elder Simon”.

“Nice meeting you both” I bowed as I turned to go.

“Wait” he called. “You seem to be in a hurry?” Elder Simon asked.

“Yes, I was about to go back to my room, Dominic doesn't like it when I wander about” I laughed.

“Dominic” Elder Simon laughed as he exchanged glances with Elder Otto.

“He hasn't changed much, very possessive about the things he loves” Elder Simon added.

“I haven't seen him love anything other than his pack”. Elder Otto revealed.

“Exactly” Elder Simon nodded in agreement.  “We would like to talk to you”. He revealed locking eyes with me, his eyes filled with suspicion.

“I don't think that is possible without Dominic consent”. I explained, sweat dripping off my face as I swallowed hard, the last place I wanted to be was with two pressing elders.

“Dominic wouldn't mind… except if you are the one that finds our presence quite depressing”. Elder Simon replied coldly.

“Why would I find your presence disturbing?, I was just following his orders, he said never to talk then those I don't know”. I frowned as I clutched my hands on my chest.

“We are Dominic uncle's, I am sure Dominic wouldn't mind if we have a little chat” Elder Otto insisted.

I looked back, as I hoped Dominic would show up, but the hallway remained empty, reluctantly I followed them to the garden.

“What do you think about our pack?” Elder Otto bolted out as he gestured me to a seat. “Please seat”.

“I think it is quite a delightful place” I forced a smile, taking my seat. “I can't stop admiring this place, sometimes I wonder if I want to go back to my pack”. I said with a sigh.

“Really?” Elder Simon laughed. “After the ceremony, you would even get tired of this place” he laughed.

“So both of you are Dominic's uncles?” My face flashed with curiosity. “Why do I want to know that” I muttered as I bit my lips. Dominic and I had been in a relationship for years but he had never mentioned an uncle or an aunty, he had never mentioned anyone.

I was always curious about the kind of people that surrounded him but now that I could get all the answers, my heart was torn into two, one part of me wanted to know, another part didn't care.

“We are his uncle”. Elder Simon replied. “But we are not related…” he paused as his face flickered to sadness. “After his parents died, few of us were able to get him to trust us…” he paused as Elder Otto placed his hand on his lap, gesturing for him to stop talking.

“You seem to be shocked to hear about Dominic's parent's death” he revealed, glaring into my eyes.

“Well…” I paused as fear choked up the words in my throat. “I wasn't shocked” I defended as I wiped my sweat.

“So he did or didn't tell you about his parent's death?” He pressed on, locking his eyes with me.

I flickered my gaze past him.”It seems so” I replied. “Dominic doesn't like talking about his past”.

“What do you know about each other?” Elder Otto asked.

My face fell to the ground as I licked my lips. I didn't know any thing about him or his family.

“Where did you two meet?” Elder Otto asked as his eyes were locked on me as his eyes were filled with suspicion. “Where did you two meet?” He pressed again.

I remained seated as sweat dripped off my face, my secret was about to be open to the whole world. I could not go down alone, I had to think of something fast.

“Please, leave the poor girl, you are scaring her” Elder Simon pleaded as he watched me. “It is normal for her not knowing anything, Dominic doesn't tell people things” he defended.

“I can understand the fact that he keeps his life in a high profile but is soon going to get married, the least he could have done is to tell her the basic things about his life” he complained as he nodded his head in disappointment.

“Everything would fall into place later on” Elder Simon reassured him as his lips curled into a hug smile.

I sat down fearfully as I dabbled the sweat away, I was able to escape the first round.

“I am sorry for making you scared but I cannot allow a useless alliance with Dominic, you need to know him before you finally have his child”. He said, his voice laced with caution.

“Enough about what Dominic knows and doesn't know” elder Simon chipped in. “We should know about you too”. He revealed as he exchanged understanding glances at Elder Otto.

“Yes,” Elder Otto nodded in agreement. “We don't seem to know anything about you” he smiled.

My eyes widened in fear. “What do you want to know, I thought Dominic had filled you in on all the details?”

“Do you have a problem why you can't tell us?” Elder Otto frowned.

“No” I forced a smile as I turned my head to the other direction avoiding his piercing stare.

“I did some digging but I don't seem to know where you are from?” He added.

“What do you mean where I am from?” I asked as I tried to feign ignorance. “I do not know what you are trying to say?” My face contorted with a mixture of pretense curiosity and confusion.

“I mean that you seem like an ordinary woman to me” he hissed, his voice filled with disdain.

“What is that supposed to mean?” Elder Simon defended as he stared brazenly at him. “She is to be the Luna of this pack, who would later on carry the heir of this pack” he snapped.

“Luna?” My mouth fell open as I turned to him. “What are you trying to say?” My brows furrowed in curiosity as my mind immediately clouded with confused thoughts.

“I cannot let Dominic marry a no-name girl” he jerked. “Dominic needs to marry a lady of higher standards”.

My face flickered to anger as rage pulsed through my veins, I could feel the anger flooding vigorously through my body, and my breath became heavy as I struggled to keep my wolf in check.

“What did you say?” I asked locking eyes with him, my voice laced with venom. “What makes you think that Dominic deserved me?” I scoffed.

“You would not speak of him like that, he is to be your mate…” he paused as his glare intensified. “Did your mother not tell you how to talk to your mate?”

“Leave me my mother out of it” I snapped.

“Not only are you classless you are also rude”. He added.

“A no name?” I scoffed. “You wouldn't say that if you knew where I was from” I threatened.

“Where are you from?” He demanded.

“I am the only daughter…” I paused as the words choked up in my throat.

“You can't even mention his name?” Elder Otto scoffed. “I guess your father is more worthless than I think”.

“Otto”. Elder Simon's jaw fell open.

“How can we let this girl who does not have a name backing her up or strong alliance in the pack be Dominic's wife”. He spat.

“Then I quit, he can go find another mate”. I eyed.

“You are nothing but a fool, you give up so easily”. He nodded his head in disappointment as his eyes were filled with disdain.

“I rather be with someone that appreciates this no-name girl” I snapped.

“You should run back to your pack and cuddle up with your shameless father” he smirked.

“I said enough”. I warned. I was brimming with hostility.

“You are nothing but a worthless piece…” I cut him short.

“I said enough” I snapped as my hand raised up, slapping him hard on his face.
