Author's pov.
“Agatha?” Kristen stared blankly at her as she walked out of the bushes.
“What are both of you doing here?” Agatha frowned as she glanced at Kristen and Gath. “Isn't it a little too early to be in the garden?”
“Well, look who is talking, you popped out of the bushes like you were a bush monster or something” Gath replied as he stared suspiciously at her. “where are you coming from?”
“That is impertinent” Agatha scoffed as she turned to go.
“Wait” Kristen called as she grabbed her hand. “I was going to come and meet you”.
Agatha turned back as she locked eyes with Kristen, her eyes filled with hatred. “I do not want to see you” she spat as she jerked her hand away.
“Agatha…” Kristen called as she tried running towards her but Gath held her.
“Where are you going?” He frowned. “Do not tell me that you were planning on following her”.
“I heard that her mother was the black witch that was captured, I have to offer my condolences and proof to her that we were innocent, we didn't kill her mother” she explained as she jerked his hand away.
Kristen followed Agatha closely as she walked towards her room. Agatha halted at a big door, she stared at the door for a while before flinging the door open.
“Could that be her room?” Kristen muttered as she walked towards the door. She turned the doorknob and was surprised it was opened.
“What do you want?” Agatha snapped as Kristen walked in. “I do not have any business with you,” she said coldly.
“Agatha” Kristen called softly. “I heard about your mother and I just want to let you know that I am really sorry” she bowed.
“I do not want to hear” Agatha hissed as she sank into her bed.
“Agatha I swear, I didn't know, I would have done something” she revealed.
“Done what?” She scoffed. “What else have you done ever since you came here you have always been a pain in my ass,” she said in a harsh tone.
“I know you resent me but I do hope you understand that I am sorry” Kristen added.
“Get out, Kristen” Agatha scoffed as she rolled her eyes in frustration. “I do not have time to listen to your blabbering”.
“I heard you went out” Kristen bolted out, as her brows furrowed in curiosity. “Where did you go to?”
“What are you?” Agatha scoffed. “Did my mother say you should watch me, tell me what to do or what or what not to eat?” She frowned.
Kristen kept quiet as she stared at her, she had the make sure she convinced her that their pack was innocent.
“What are you talking about?”. Kristen finally said. “My pack is innocent, I have placed a call and asked for them to explain everything to me…” Agatha cut her short.
“And what did they say?” Her eyes widened as she turned to Kristen, getting off from the bed. “What did they say?”
“Well they haven't said anything yet, seems like they are very busy, I just wanted to know how your mother ended up there… she seemed like a nice person” Kristen's face fell.
“If you are saying all this just to save your pack, you can be rest assured that you don't need to do that” Agatha eyed.
“What do you mean?”
“It means I do not resent your pack, after looking into it, my mother was used as a pawn, your people were just tricked” she explained.
“Are you saying that the rest of the black witches did this?” Kristen stepped forward as she watched her cautiously, she knew she was playing a dangerous game by asking her about the black witches.
“What are you getting at?” Agatha frowned.
“I am only trying to say that did the black witch that was behind the killings of those fifty rogue hunters, are you saying she was also behind this?” Kristen's brows furrowed in curiosity.
Agatha kept quiet, her facial expressions uncertain as she stared at Kristen.
“Then why did you people hide, why didn't you tell us, we might have helped you”. Kristen revealed, her face etched with concern.
“We do not need your pack in our territory” Agatha snapped. “I would find that witch myself and burn her on a stick,” Agatha said, her voice laced with venom.
“Look, I also want to know who did that to Noah” Kristen added. “I need to know the black witch foolish enough to show herself to rogue hunters”. I glared, as my gaze flickered past her.
“You want to know the black witch?” Agatha scoffed. “Leave that to me…” she paused as she eyed her. “Just go make yourself pretty for Dominic”. She spat.
“Well, that would have been the perfect thing to do but…” Kristen paused as she swallowed hard. “Men are evil” she revealed, her eyes prickling with tears.
Agatha's face flickered to curiosity as she stared at her. “What are you talking about?”
“It's nothing” she snapped as she turned away to wipe her tears.
“Did Dominic say something different?” She moved closer.
“It doesn't matter”. Kristen replied. “All that matters is that Dominic chapter is finally closed in my life”.
“Okay,” Agatha forced a smile. “Can you get out now” her face suddenly flashed with hatred.
“Look” Kristen called. “I want us to be in this together, I need to also find the witch responsible, we got off on the wrong foot but I am willing to make things right”. She revealed.
“Get out” Agatha insisted. “I do not need your help”.
“I just want us to be friends, is that too much to ask for?” Kristen frowned.
Agatha's eyes widened in shock as she swallowed hard but choked on her saliva. She started coughing.
“Oh my goodness”. Kristen cried as she looked around for water but couldn't find anything, she had no choice but to tap her chest to relieve the cough.
“Get your… hands away from me” Agatha snapped coughing.
“Don't be stubborn” Kristen scoffed. “It would cause a heartburn burn” she revealed as she continued tapping her chest.
Immediately the door opened revealing Dominic and Gath. His mouth fell open in shock as he stared blankly at them.
“What is going on here?” He frowned as he walked in. “Are you trying to strangle her?” He turned to Agatha.
Kristen scoffed as she brushed her hair to the back with her hand in frustration. “Do not act like you care” she snapped as she walked out angrily.
“Her hand was clearly on my neck but you still find it comforting to blame me?” She scoffed as she nodded in disbelief.
“I wasn't blaming you”. Dominic defended. “Anyway how was the meeting with the witches, did they say anything?”
“Are you worried they would attack your pack?” Agatha replied as she gulped a large amount of water. “I never realized they were just a bunch of cowards” she muttered.
“What happened there?” Dominic face flickered to curiosity. “Did you perhaps find the person that might have called your mother out?”
“Darla” she bolted out.
“What did they say?”
Agatha scoffed. “They are nothing but backstabbers, the moment I accused Darla, they mocked me for not having powers to further the allegations”.
“What?”. Dominic frowned. “They had the guts to say that?, It was because of Darla, that my pack was attacked”. He said as anger thrummed through his veins. His breath became hard.
“They aren't going to investigate, instead…” she paused as she locked eyes with him. “Darla is coming here as a bride-to-be” she revealed.
“She shouldn't dare”.
“Just because my mother died that doesn't mean we should lose focus”. She said, her face contorted with seriousness. “My mother had the power in the coven but I don't, with her gone, we desperately need to look for another way in the coven, we need their help”.
“So what do you suggest?”
“I was thinking we should play along with them, the closer you get to her, the more it would help me find out what happened behind my mother's death and it could also help me strengthen my alliance in the coven” she explained.
“And what would happen if we don't need her again?”
“Then you dumped her”
Dominic stepped forward. “I am going to help you find out who killed Trixie, I do not care if the rogue hunters did it or it was Darla's fault but I promise you they would pay” he reassured her as he pulled her into a hug.
“Thank you” she smiled as she released herself from his embrace.
“What are we going to do?” Dominic asked.
“We have to just wait for Darla, they should be coming here soon” she revealed.
“Then I would go and make preparations”. Dominic added as he turned to leave.
“Wait” Agatha called. Dominic turned to face her.
“While I was in the witches' place, I heard about a book…” she paused. “Do you know the devil's journal?, I heard your ancestors were the ones who owned the book before the black witches stole it”.
“I don't” he nodded in disagreement. “But if you are looking for a book owned by this pack, I know someone who would be more than useful”. He smiled.
